Model Overview:

A compact crossover SUV, the Hyundai Tucson is aimed at buyers seeking the tall ride height and cargo convenience of a utility vehicle in a small, affordable package. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Tucson has always offered a generous list of standard equipment and a lengthy warranty.

Although early versions of this Hyundai crossover have a decidedly budget feel, 2010 and later Tucsons have distinctive exterior styling and a slick interior to match. Acceleration and handling are also much better on the newer models, and fuel economy is significantly improved. Recent Tucson models are worth consideration if you're shopping for a used small crossover.

  • Fun while it lasted - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON

I loved my Tucson, disappionte in milage, but fun to drive. Great amount of room for luggage for a week trip with a family of 5 (2 teenage boys and husband all 6+). Last week was t- boned and rolled, landing of the roof. I walked away without a scratch, a few bumps. Side air bags went off. The 5-star crash rating seems to be deserved. Will probably buy another one.

  • A very dependable SUV - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON

I bought my Tuscan used with 62000 miles, no problems on it. I also got a car fax on the history of this vehicle. The previous owner only had a brake caliper replaced. I drive quite a bit, this vehicle has never let me down. It now has 87000 miles and purrs like a kitten. I haul a good bit in the cargo area with the back seats folded down, plenty of power. I read some complaints about milage and engine power, this one is a power wagon which runs great. Perhaps its the 6 cylinder vs the 4 banger, but I love this vehicle and would by another Hyundai hands down, but not until this one dies. Plenty of leg room, very dependable!!

  • Love the car! - 2012 Hyundai TUCSON

We purchased our 2012 Tuscon in around November of 2011. So far, we love the car. We havent had a single issue and its a great car to drive. Its not fast but it does fine getting in and out of traffic. In city driving we get 25mpg almost every tank, sadly though we get just slightly better (27-28) on the highway at about 70-75mph. The interior quality is good for the price point of the car, it looks good and everything fits well. no rattles or anything so far and were at about 15k miles.

  • We just love this car - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

We traded in an 2003 Expedition 12mpg. We bought the new 2005 Tucson LX V-6. The paint is beautiful. Its truly fun to drive. Seats 4 comfortably. We have 1200 mile on the Tucson. We get 19 mpg around town.Since we drive about 99 % around town I am very happy to get this kind of great mileage. The leather seats have seat warmers. My wife loves it. The best car, best warranty, and its cheap, and fun to drive.

  • Dual clutch problems - 2016 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

I purchased my 2016 Hyundai Tucson Limited at the end of May 2016. For about five weeks, I enjoyed the comfort, smooth ride, quiet cabin and features. Unfortunately, after about five weeks, I had to have the vehicle towed to the local dealership because of problems with the “dual clutch transmission” (DCT). It appears that I am not the only person experiencing problems with the DCT (the Eco, Sport and Limited models of the Tucson). You should check out the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration “safercar” web-site to see the over 100 complaints 2016 Tucson owners have reported about the DCT before you buy one for yourself.

Fun to drive. The unique auto-shifter is a plus when driving around town and the way it automatically downshifts when you slow down is great.

  • Great Compact SUV - 2016 Hyundai TUCSON

So far I have just over 1,300 miles on the Tucson and am very pleased with its performance. The 1.6L turbo performs very well. The Tucson is extremely quiet at idle and has no vibration. Acceleration and passing on the highway are no problem. The dual clutch transmission takes some getting used to but Ive had no problem with it. Dont expect it to feel like exactly like an automatic, especially at low speeds. The shifts at low speeds become smoother once the transmission adjusts to your driving and you get used to the transmission. I appreciate the smooth ride and find the interior noise to be well controlled (coming from a Mazda3 that was very loud). Handling and steering are impressive also. The drivers seat is also very comfortable. Of the recent cars/SUVs Ive owned this is the only one that felt comfortable from the beginning and didnt give me leg, hip or arm discomfort at some point. The infotainment system and Bluetooth work well and I love the ventilated seats. As of now, Id recommend the Tucson.

  • Secret is out.... - 2008 Hyundai TUCSON

I never thought in a million years that I would buy an SUV. I was considering a small car, like a Yaris for fuel economy, but when I actually took these little cars for a test drive, the novelty soon wore off! They just didnt seem safe to me. Sitting in the drivers seat of the Hyundai was a wonderful experience. I came for the value, and stayed for the seat warmer! The gas mileage listed is the same as my old Impala in the city, so I didnt lose there!

  • Nice ride - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

This is the 4th Hyundai product I have owned since 1999. They just get better every year. I know I am safe driving the Hyundai.
