Model Overview:

A compact crossover SUV, the Hyundai Tucson is aimed at buyers seeking the tall ride height and cargo convenience of a utility vehicle in a small, affordable package. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Tucson has always offered a generous list of standard equipment and a lengthy warranty.

Although early versions of this Hyundai crossover have a decidedly budget feel, 2010 and later Tucsons have distinctive exterior styling and a slick interior to match. Acceleration and handling are also much better on the newer models, and fuel economy is significantly improved. Recent Tucson models are worth consideration if you're shopping for a used small crossover.

  • Fun to drive vehicle - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON

After driving a Ford truck, I can tell you this vehicle is much more fun to drive. It handles great and will do everything we will need it to do. Parking in tight spots is no longer a pain. Engine power is sufficient and ride is what you would expect from an SUV, although is better than most others I have been in. I highly recommend this vehicle.

A very fun suv to drive. Short lenght took some getting use to. 6 inches longer would be perfect, but would it still be a compact or midsize. Really havent took a road trip to check mpg but city has been very disapointing at only 16/17 mpg?? Shifting sometimes feels lazy and you get the feeling its guzzing gas? Right arm rest could be designed 4/6 inches longer even in the upper position. Overall this is an excellent value for the money. Jury is still out if I should have paid the extra cash and bought the Honda or the Rava. My auto mechanic for past 25 yrs. suggested the Santa Fe or Tucson since he never gets them in his shop.

  • Forget CX5, buy a Tucson! - 2016 Hyundai TUCSON

Awesome car, cheaper and BETTER than CX5. I love it. Amazing vehicle.

  • Three Major Failures Already - 2007 Hyundai TUCSON

In 8 months our Tuscon has left us stranded (wouldnt start due to the alarm module failing), required a new power steering pump (it was making awful noises), and decided to dump all its 4WD transfer case oil into our driveway. Its also been in for factory recalls. Its spend A LOT of unplanned time at the dealer (twice going in on a flat bed tow truck). Its not very confidence inspiring when it keeps having such serious problems? We like to backpack, and had the problems happened deep in the woods, we could have been seriously stranded. Hyundai roadside service is useless there. The gas mileage is no better than many MUCH larger SUVs which is also embarrasing.

  • All-Around Affordable Quality - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON

My wife and I purchased a 2006 Hyundai Tucson Limited and we love it. The car is by far the most quality small SUV for the price on the market. We are both commuters who travel frequently and in a variety of weather conditions. The Tucson has performed phenomenally in snow, on mountain highways, and it is fun to drive from interstates to small country roads. The price, all of the features, the performance, the look, the warranty, and the comfort of the limited make it the best vehicle we have ever had. It has the look and the feel of a Lexus, with the best warranty around and every where we go people comment on how great it looks. This is an outstanding SUV - you will love it!

  • Great ride - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

Great looks Great ride. When I first saw it I fell in love with it. The test drive was great. A lot of leg room front and back. The cargo room works for me also. I do wish that the gas mileage was better. But you cant have everything.

  • Great Value, for the price - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

Bought the 05 Tucson in October and so far so good. The exterior is flashy and the interior isnt half bad either. the small v6 is good on gas and still has the pep that it should. Gear timing could be spaced a little more but i use the manual power shifter most of the time anyway. Good stock 6 speaker sound system with good midrange. Seat adjustment knobs are a little funny to play with; havent quite found that perfect setting. 6 airbags are wonderful and give me peace of mind. Decent MPG. A great little sport cross for the price. I am impressed.

  • UPDATE - 2010 Hyundai TUCSON

My first review of the new Tucson was on 1/5/10 w 300 miles on it. Now, with 1500, my opinion is the same. A great car in all respects. Only negatives (which I can live with) are the small gas tank (would have liked a 16-17 gal as on my 05), a door bell for a horn (they should have charges another $10 and it would be heard). The third is the front seat could have been wider. Maybe the leather is the confining aspect. aLSO, I do miss the rear window washer. I get 24-25 local but have not had it on the road for a long trip. This will come in late May. All in all, still very thrilled with the vehicle. Cant wait for the C&D report.

  • A winner! - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON

I bought this because I was concerned about safety issues, and the standard 6 airbags appealed to me. The standard warranty offered was very good and the price was certainly right. Overall, Ive been pleasantly surprised at how much fun this car has been to drive. Runs well, though a little noisy. Good road-view and manueverability. Basic sound system is better than that on my wifes Toyota. Only disappointment has been the fuel mileage -- good but not great. This is my first Hyundai, and I would look at another one again without question. Great value for the money.

  • Just love it. - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

We just love our new Tucson. Just came back from vacation and our V6 went right up those Pa. hills. The ride is very comfortable. The seats wrap around your back for support. We went to test drive a car and came out owning a Tucson, so glad we did.
