Model Overview:

A compact crossover SUV, the Hyundai Tucson is aimed at buyers seeking the tall ride height and cargo convenience of a utility vehicle in a small, affordable package. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Tucson has always offered a generous list of standard equipment and a lengthy warranty.

Although early versions of this Hyundai crossover have a decidedly budget feel, 2010 and later Tucsons have distinctive exterior styling and a slick interior to match. Acceleration and handling are also much better on the newer models, and fuel economy is significantly improved. Recent Tucson models are worth consideration if you're shopping for a used small crossover.

  • The jerky ride - 2016 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

I have had my car back to the dealer, but, the dual clutch issues of jerky ride is normal. I have been driving for sixty years and have owned 25 cars including VW, Datsun, Pontiac, Buick, Chevy, Honda and 5 Hyundai. With the exception of the 2016 Tucson Limited 1.6T, all the other transmission were smooth....not this one and the dealer said it is the design of the transmission. Hyundai Of American is looking into the issue. More to come....

over all the vehicle is find except to much road noise coming into the vehicle. the car rides nice and makes me less tired when driving long distances. if the vehicle had more less noise coming for out side i can hear the radio more better than to have to turn it up more than like to. but over all the vehicle is great to drive.

  • DO NOT BUY THIS CAR!!! - 2016 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

I purchased a loaded 2016 Tuscan from a brand new dealership only open 1 week. I had the car for just 1 day shy of 1 MONTH. I was driving home and without warning LOST ALL POWER. Thankfully I was able to get it pulled to the side in a subdivision. I had NO warning of this. Dash light all came on, advising check AEB and TPMS. I couldnt even use my hazard lights!!!! After getting it towed to the dealership we purchased it from we went the next morning and was told the alternator had failed to charge the battery!!!! Really, a brand new car!!!! The manager refused to even talk with us after several attempts to speak with him. Total loss of EVERYTHING on a vehicle is a HUGE safety concern. Thankfully it didnt happen 5 minutes earlier when I was going 60!!!! The manufacturer advises it will be MAYBE February before they can get the alternator since it is so new. Definitely falling under lemon law since out for more than 30 days and major safety issue!!!!!! I would have given this no stars but didnt allow this. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sometime newest technology not always what they claim and not worth it.

  • Misrepresentation of gas mileage - 2010 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

I get an average of 18.6 mpg. When I brought it back to the dealer they drove it 60 miles under ideal conditions and the best they could get was 23 mpg Cruise control on the hwy. They then told me thats what I should expect even though the sticker advertises 24 city and 31 hwy.

  • Great little car - 2010 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

Bought this car a little over 3 months ago. It replaced a Honda CR-V. I have nothing but good things to say about this car. Size wise it feels much larger then the CR-V, and much more comfortable for long rides. As far as style goes this car looks better and compares to some of the "high-end" types. I have people continually asking me "what kind of car is that?" The ride is smooth and the handling is very good. I like the options that come standard with the car (many of which are not in others). Overall the car is small and compact on the outside, but large and very comfortable on the inside. It gets decent gas mileage, and has plenty of "get up and go".

  • Fix the Transmission, and this will be a winner! - 2016 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

This vehicle is amazing, but buyer beware. There is a serious issue with the dual-clutch transmission in this vehicle which results in ZERO power to the wheels, occurs intermittently, without notice, and will leave you stranded in the road. -Hopefully not when youre turning, or otherwise facing oncoming traffic. This issue must be fixed, and Hyundai has thus far had a very poor response on the problem. Otherwise, this vehicle is absolutely amazing, and you will not find a better value in the segment. Loaded with technology, loaded with safety and loaded with value. -But be sure to research the DCT issue before buying.

  • More than enough - 2009 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

I was expecting an under powered SUV and I was pleasantly surprised when it had more than enough. This vehicle just continues to impress us. My wife and I have to take turns driving it. Our other mode of transportation is a V-8. Were already getting 10 more MPG. With the warranty its truly worry free driving. Id recommend it to anyone.

My Tucson has certainly pleased me. Good quality automobile, fun to drive, live in the Tahoe area and handles snow storms like a champ.
