Model Overview:

A compact crossover SUV, the Hyundai Tucson is aimed at buyers seeking the tall ride height and cargo convenience of a utility vehicle in a small, affordable package. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Tucson has always offered a generous list of standard equipment and a lengthy warranty.

Although early versions of this Hyundai crossover have a decidedly budget feel, 2010 and later Tucsons have distinctive exterior styling and a slick interior to match. Acceleration and handling are also much better on the newer models, and fuel economy is significantly improved. Recent Tucson models are worth consideration if you're shopping for a used small crossover.

  • What a GREAT car!!! - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

Before buying a Tuscon I test-drove Hondas CR-V, Toyotas RAV4, Saturns VUE, Hondas Element, Chevy Blazer - none can hold a candle to the Tuscon. A smooth, QUIET ride was a must for me; it gives by far the most solid-feeling, quiet ride. Everything about it feels "sound" - even the doors close w/ a solid sound. Love this car!

  • Great Crossover SUV for the price - 2016 Hyundai TUCSON

The 2016 Hyundai Tucson is a great overall crossover SUV! I am driving the ECO/AWD/Turbo model for almost a year. The only complaints we have about the Tucson is the feel of the transmission during quick take offs and the headrest.

  • All in all, so far so good - 2010 Hyundai TUCSON

All in all so far so good. I have owned 40 cars, and this is a very solid car. My only complaints so far. the noise of the engine while outside of the car idling (although inside you cant hear it), and the chrome rings on the air vents reflecting in the windows. In other words, small things. Only been getting 24 mpg so far... but mainly city, with an average speed of 30 mph.. so good in my opinion. Everything is very well laid out, easy to fine, and the vehicle is deceptively big. much more room inside than you would think from the outside. The stiffer suspension than most CUVs is nice, and you can really feel the weight (or lack there of) compared with other similar vehicles. A+ all around

  • Renting it and loving it! - 2016 Hyundai TUCSON

I am currently renting this vehicle and it has been almost perfect. Since its a rental, its the base version, without the turbo or the dual clutch transmission. Just the 2.0L engine and the 6 speed automatic. The weaker engine struggles just a bit in some situations, but I love this car so much, I dont mind. The engine is perfectly fine under normal circumstances, but load the car up with people and stuff and go up an incline and it will feel over-taxed. The steering and handling on this thing is just plain fun. I would not have thought that a simple people mover CUV would be so much fun to drive, but it is. Now, its not a sports car, and it does start to feel a bit unstable at very high freeway speeds (over 90 mph - which traffic sometimes gets to on our Southern California freeways). Emergency maneuvers at highway speeds would probably be a bad idea (my normal car is a Mercedes sedan that is stable at just about any speed). The Tucson is also quite comfortable and roomy, both front and back. The cargo area is a very decent size, but it feels a bit smaller than the official figures. (Actually, I think the way cargo space is calculated gives an unfair advantage to SUVs and CUVs as compared to sedans). The gauges and infotainment features are very good, very informative, and very easy to use, especially considering that this is a base model. Overall, I love this car and can see myself buying it.

  • Great SUV - would buy two - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

Having been a Pontiac person before buying this SUV I would have never though I would like it as much as I do. I absolutely love my Hyundai Tucson and am seriously thinking about purchasing a second one to replace my sports car.

  • Nice SUV. Loads of features for the price - 2017 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

The 2017 Tucson in ECO drive mode shows some hesitation when driving off at lower speeds. The other available mode is SPORT which you have to select for it to be enabled. There should be an option of selecting how you want to drive the car. That is why I didnt give all the points in shifting. Tucsons are not necessarily the quietest ride in town but the level of road noise is perfectly bearable. The entertainment center is so loaded with features that it takes a while to get familiar with all the options and menus. Perhaps in a couple of months I will be able to score higher in this particular topic. Other than these minor inconveniences I am extremely happy with my purchase. This is a very well appointed trim with features found only in much more expensive models from other manufacturers

I absolutely love this car! I bought it almost two years ago and I cant wait to upgrade and get the new Tuscon! The design is sleek and the size is perfect for a family of 4, with a lot of storage space in the back. Ive only had to complete basic maintenance. The interior design isnt a 10, but it serves its purpose. My mother in law drove my car (she travels a lot and gets rental cars fairly often) and she loves my car compared to many others that shes driven.

I spent over a year checking out small SUVs on the Internet. I also test drove many. The Tucson is one great SUV! The quality really surprised me along with the price. All the extras are standard (except a minor few like roof rack rails/sun roof). This makes dealing with the dealer on the price much easier. You really must drive this car before you buy any small SUV. If you do, I think youll be sold!
