Overview & Reviews
A compact crossover SUV, the Hyundai Tucson is aimed at buyers seeking the tall ride height and cargo convenience of a utility vehicle in a small, affordable package. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Tucson has always offered a generous list of standard equipment and a lengthy warranty.
Although early versions of this Hyundai crossover have a decidedly budget feel, 2010 and later Tucsons have distinctive exterior styling and a slick interior to match. Acceleration and handling are also much better on the newer models, and fuel economy is significantly improved. Recent Tucson models are worth consideration if you're shopping for a used small crossover.

Surprising Quality & Value ! - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON
By jcast - January 1 - 5:46 pmOnly driven 500 miles, but very impressed by the ride, abundance of amenities & overall performance -- it looks & feels larger than a compact SUV & the great warranty is an added bonus. The silver ext. with dark grey leather is very attractive & easy to keep clean. Toyota & Honda better stay on their toes cuz Hyundai is on the way up & has great financial resources to compete with them. Way to go Hyundai!!

By edbegly - January 1 - 2:23 pmlove my tuscon. everything is good. rides well, enjoyable and evenlooks like a much more expensive car. only the gas mileage is the pits. very roomy with the fold down rear seats. store a load of stuff without any problem. my wife loved her escape until she drove my car, now she cant wait to get out of her lease.

Our first Hyundai - 2010 Hyundai TUCSON
By Ken - December 22 - 3:43 pmNice SUV, when I first test drove it, it felt like a mini Lexus. I was impressed, and the same night we leased the car. I wish I can drive it every day but is my wifes car so I have to drive our 2001 Honda CRV. We also test drove the 2011 Sonata, it looks like a BMW and it drives great, wish I have the money to purchase the Sonata too. I am very impressed with Hyundai.

Former Honda CRV Owner - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
By sfb3 - December 16 - 6:00 amWe had a 1998 Honda CRV and shopped many compact SUVs, the Hyundai Tucson had many more safety, comfort, and design features for the price than any other compact SUV. After having it for a couple of months we have not missed our Honda CRV, that we enjoyed for 7 years. The Tuscon is far more comfortable and easy to drive than the Honda. We keep saying "the Tucson is like a small luxury vehicle." Its comfortable, low wind and engine noise, and easy to drive. Fit and finish are top notch. Gas mileage could be better, we do not get the EPA listed on the sticker. Over all we could not be more pleased at this point. For a small SUV it draws a lot of attention from other drivers.

If it were quieter it would be perfect. - 2010 Hyundai TUCSON
By Rehabber - December 4 - 10:00 amPurchased 6 months ago and now have 5000 miles combined Hwy/City. The engine/trans combination of this vehicle makes it feel like a 6 cyl. Just a lot of fun to drive. Mileage has been 20 city/27 Hgwy which I can live with coming from an 04 Trailblazer. The only downside of the vehicle is the highway road noise on concrete. I had to put a 4" foam pad under the spare tire to absorb some of the noise and stuff polyfill into the rear wheel well covers. The tires are also part of the problem. An upgrade to the Michelin Primacy MVX4, which are rated far better for road noise would be an improvement.

Please Consider This Vehicle! - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
By 1st Time Suv Owner - November 28 - 10:46 amMy last 3-4 cars leased or bought, have been Dodge or Chrysler products. Since this is my 1st SUV, I dont have a comparison. But, after a LOT of consideration about what kind of car I would want to keep for 10 years or more, this vehicle fit my needs. With annual mileage being always less than 12,000 miles, the 10 yr/100,000 mile warranty was a great incentive. Saftey and standard features were also a great selling point. Most other vehicles in same class were not close.

Turbo Terror - 2016 Hyundai TUCSON
By norman grajek - November 22 - 12:16 pmI recently leased a Tucson Limited. --This SUV looks nice from a stand still view. However the TURBO -CHARGER is a terror. When I try to get on a busy hi-speed highway and merge into traffic . the TURBO Charger -/engine all but stops. and I get left sitting in a hi-speed lane with NO POWER. This has happened several times both to MY WIFE and I. It has been back at the dealer for several days . no fix yet. Stay away from this vehicle

My first real lemon also!! - 2016 Hyundai TUCSON
By Skip - November 17 - 2:20 pmWhen I first purchased the vehicle I noticed a significant delay between pressing on the gas pedal and acceleration. Within one week of driving the Tuscon I was almost in an accident because the SUV was slow to respond through an intersection. I reported this to the dealer and was informed by one of his technicians that there was a recall and a software update was needed. The update was only moderately successful. The transmission is unpredictable in how it responds to steep hills, sporadically jerky, and still, at times, slow to accelerate only now its inconsistency keeps you sweating it out at busy intersections. Every passenger that has been in this vehicle has commented on it. Ive talked to the technician and he told me this is the nature of a dual clutch transmission but he would look at it. I have told the owner of the Hyundai dealership on two occasions that I believe this vehicle is unsafe and should not be on the road.

mr - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
By paul bartels - November 4 - 6:00 pmRide and handling are ok. Dont like the way trans shifts. Its too slow shifting, wastes gas doing so. You can get better performance by shifting manually. Brake pedal feels too soft.
