Model Overview:

A compact crossover SUV, the Hyundai Tucson is aimed at buyers seeking the tall ride height and cargo convenience of a utility vehicle in a small, affordable package. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Tucson has always offered a generous list of standard equipment and a lengthy warranty.

Although early versions of this Hyundai crossover have a decidedly budget feel, 2010 and later Tucsons have distinctive exterior styling and a slick interior to match. Acceleration and handling are also much better on the newer models, and fuel economy is significantly improved. Recent Tucson models are worth consideration if you're shopping for a used small crossover.

  • Mistake in purchasing this SUV - 2011 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

Really wanted to love this vehicle but ultimately had to get rid of it after only 6 months! First road trip, only 3500 miles was stranded between AZ and CA. Threw a rod, had to have a new engine ordered and installed. Did I mention only 3500 miles??!! Began to notice rattles right away, gas mileage never what was advertised, brushed nickel (?)substance on steering wheel started to peel off, front fender came loose. Didnt care for the dealership in AZ as well, didnt return calls, provided inaccurate information. Not at all helpful. Definitely cannot recommend this vehicle!!! Would like to think it was not a Hyundai issue, but just got stuck with a lemon.

the SUV does not even get close to the est. milage. It would be better if they changed the gear ratios or make it a 4 speed trans. Other then that it is fun to drive. I had a 4cyl. and traded up to the 6 after a road trip. The 4 gets better milage but does not go up hill and was very loud when going 65mph. I purchased because of safety features and the warrenty. My other Suv was 2 years old,

  • Better than Expected - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

Ive come to enjoy this buggy more and more. Its an adult car! Even the back seat is adjustable for adults. You set the controls and it does what youd expect. ESP off and 4 Wheel lock work up to 25 mph then go to normal safety mode. When youre bogged down below 25 it kicks back in.. Great bad weather car!

  • More Noise than is acceptable - 2010 Hyundai TUCSON

So far I am getting reasonable mileage on this vehicle. My only major complaint is the Road Noise. At 110KMH you may as well turn off the XM Radio because there is no way you can hear what is going on. Otherwise, it offers surprising power, a very good transmission with good shifts (I hardly ever noticed any jerking on a downshift) and it is quite comfortable on long trips. My back no longer hurts when I drive 250 miles.

I have been followng this car since it was intorduced ant the 2004 Auto Show. I knew all that was to know about the car before it hit the dealership. When it finally arrived I was at their door. Bought the car on the spot. I love it and would recommend it to anyone. By the way......I also own a Santa Fe. Two fantastic cars.

  • bad ride - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON

Bought my tucson in oct 2006. I checked reports. Wasn t happy after I bought it. I get 19 mpg. in town 17hgy. Seems like thats backward. After only 2000 miles I have had 11 tires replaced. Second day they turned the front roters they were warped. Service said tires were bad . The tucson shakes, wobbles at low speeds. Stering wheel vibrates bad. Service says nature of this to happen. I think it has to big of tires on it. Has 235/16/60. tire to wide.Service tech. said only way to change that is to drive it a while and trade it off. I think i will take his advice. I depended on J D Powers ranking when I bought my tucson. I was let down I am 50 years old. I buy new every 2-3 years . NOT HYUNAI.
