Best small SUV for the MONEY - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON
By moomomish - September 3 - 5:23 pmGreat small SUV. GREAT gas millage for an SUV. i do 50/50 freeway and city and my overall MPG is 20. i get 22-25 on the highway depending on my speed. around 27 if i drive 55mph, but couldnt continue very long at that slow speed. GREAT PRICE i got mine for $16,500 with 10,000 miles on it. it kbb at 21,500 privet party when i got it. now its at 17,500 after a few months. so i know theres no way im going to get my money back if i decide to sell so most likely i am keeping it until it dies. Great car for the price, i drive alot and it has been very trust worthy. lots of room for long trips, and 4wd is nice to have in the snow.

Tucson - Everything I wanted - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON
By StirItUp - August 8 - 6:10 amI purchased my Tucson just before Christmas last year and have just over 10,000 mi now. Im VERY happy with the vehicle. When I was searching I wanted all the luxury features but had a very strict budget. This vehicle allowed me to get all I wanted and keep within my budget. I think everyone looking for a vehicle in this class should definitely give the Tucson a look. And Im impressed with the gas mileage for being a V6. My Mother owns the Honda CRV and I get the same gas mileage as she does and I have the V6!

Problems Galore! **Rebuilt Warranty** - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON
By akkyle - July 17 - 9:13 pmMy family bought a new 2006 Hyundai Tucson GLS 2.7L 4 speed Automatic in the fall of 2006. We have had it maintained every time at or before 3000 miles or 3 months (It has under 50,000 miles as of now, fall of 2011). When it was 3 years and approx. 30,000 it started having significant problems with the 4WD, transmission, and power steering. Now it has been sitting at the dealer for a month (NO JOKE!) for a ***REBUILT*** transmission to be put in and rear struts that recently started leaking. So far the dealer has not done anything to the car. We will never buy Hyundai again. RAV4 is the replacement SUV!

Beware of a Tucson - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON
By Sue - June 11 - 4:00 amI purchased my 2006 Tucson new. I was expecting a great vehicle. Instead I got a vehicle with a lot of problems. The rotors warped at 300 miles and again at 14,500. I have had to have the radio replaced because it drained my battery on two occasions and left me with a dead car. The moonroof whistles and they cannot correct it. That is why they give you a deflector with the vehicle because it is a design flaw. The interior marks extremely easily and if very hard to clean when marked. The best I can get on gas mileage if 21.7 even though it was rated 19 and 24. I would never buy another Hyundai and cannot wait to get rid of the vehicle. The alarm system makes no sense.

Well Satisfied - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON
By Don L - June 4 - 3:06 pmI purchased my Hyundai Tuscon about 6 months ago. I have been nothing but pleased. The vehicle is fun to drive, roomy and certainly is a good value for the money. No other SUV can match this one for features for the money and sporty appearance. The warranty is a big plus though havent had even the first problem.

JUst blown away! - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON
By Ken - May 16 - 5:23 amI was looking to purchase the Santa Fe originally but once I saw the Tucson up close and drove it, I had to have it! I anticipated the vehicle to be as small inside as it is on the outside but boy was I wrong! It has a big truck feel for sure! There is ample room inside for hauling whatever within reason. The 2.7 V6 has nice power and acceleration plus the tranny is smooth and tight. Mine is the 4x4 model which operates at 90% front wheel drive and 10% rear unless you go 50/50 with the push button. The traction contriol system with the 4 wheel ABS works great! It keeps the truck very stable. The overall look of the vehicle is outstanding! Ive had people think it was a BMW X3 already!

Finally a good car. - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON
By oldsarge II - April 12 - 7:16 pmLiked it from the second I sat in it at the dealership. My first longish trip was to Phoenix in June of 2006 (very hot) mileage averaged 28.8 mpg. starts every time plenty of acceleration (I live in central valley of California). I use the car for everything, totally versatile. Last longish trip was to Reno June of 2009, mileage averaged again 28.8. Note to all owners, Change oil regularly, make sure you change the air cleaner at or before the listed time, keep tires up, and be sure your oldest son is a working auto mechanic. prev.cars were Nash, Pontiac, Chevy, Toyota,Nissan X- 2,and a ,46 Bug in Europe. This one is the best.

Good value, no fun - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON
By meh! - April 6 - 10:00 amPurchased with 6000 mi on it as a dealership demo. Spongy brakes from day one, underpowered V6 and poor gas mileage. 3 recalls so far. Starter cable came loose on a Saturday night and the vehicle would not start after work, small issue but very inconvenient. This car is a cheap no frills cross over that is not fun to drive, but certainly serves its purpose. I can load tons of stuff in the cargo area with the back seats folded flat. If practicality is what you are looking for the Tucson is a good purchase.

Good little SUV for the money - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON
By TY in IN - April 4 - 3:10 pmThe Hyundai Tuscon GLS has been ideal for our family. It carries my family of four comfortably on short trips. It is an ideal size for maneuvering into parking spots at work. It has a roomy back end for groceries and such. We have had issues with the battery, headlights, air conditioning, and tires as mentioned in previous reviews. But with the warranty and the wonderful service at the Hyundai dealership, I had it all fixed quickly and without too much trouble and $$ for me. The gas mileage isnt the best @ 17-19 MPG. I love the 4WD, it isnt going to get me out of 3ft of snow, but it has helped me in snow <8 inches. It is a basic SUV, not a luxury vehicle, and it gets the job done.
