Model Overview:

A compact crossover SUV, the Hyundai Tucson is aimed at buyers seeking the tall ride height and cargo convenience of a utility vehicle in a small, affordable package. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Tucson has always offered a generous list of standard equipment and a lengthy warranty.

Although early versions of this Hyundai crossover have a decidedly budget feel, 2010 and later Tucsons have distinctive exterior styling and a slick interior to match. Acceleration and handling are also much better on the newer models, and fuel economy is significantly improved. Recent Tucson models are worth consideration if you're shopping for a used small crossover.

  • Slammin New Car - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

I researched for about 9 months and then the Tucson came out in Oct. I special ordered my car and got it right before Christmas. It has many features that you would find on a much more expensive car, and I looked at them all, I used to own a Grand Vatari which seems like a play car now. I love the quiet and smooth ride of the Tucson. I also like that people in the back seat have plenty of room for their legs and I can still load it up with everything imaginable from Home Depot. Very nice car wioth impressive standard features, I added a sunroof and let me tell you those heated seats are great on these cold winter days. Steering is very nimble and quick. Over all, a slammin car!

  • BEWARE - TRANSMISSION NIGHTMARES - 2016 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

I bought my Tucson Limited in February 2016. This was my 3rd Hyundai and I never had issues before. The car was not right from the beginning..,,,the ride was uneven and the transmission was jumpy..I had it in 3 times in the first month for the rough ride and they ended up replacing all 4 tires. Things were ok until a few weeks ago when the transmission started really acting up. I was in traffic and stopped at a light and when i stepped on the gas to go, the rpms went up but the car would not move. It happened 5 times that day. I took it to service and they told me there was "no known issue" and they said they could not replicate it so there was nothing they could do. One week later I went to make a turn and the car would not move. I almost got hit. I called service again and this time they said they did a "software update" and it was fixed. That lasted one week and it happened again last Friday on my way to work. Its in the shop now. They have given me a rental. As soon as I get this car back I am trading it in. I know i will lose a lot of money but I am so scared to drive it again. I have submitted cases to Hyundai Consumer Affairs and the National Traffic Highway Safety Administration. This car is dangerous. Does someone have to get injured or die before they do a recall? It will happen if they let this go.

  • Surprised Convert - 2007 Hyundai TUCSON

I started out looking at the Ford Edge, the Honda CRV and the Mazda CX-7. The Tucson wasnt even on my radar. The need for premium gas nixed the Mazda and $34,000 plus change for an Edge with the sunroof gave me pause, but I was ready to buy. The warranty and standard saftey features of the Tucson made me take a look. I expected to be underwhelmed during the test drive, but was pleasantly surprised. After driving a Jeep Wrangler for 11 yrs, the Tucson had the soft, quiet ride I was looking for. The Limited offered a lot of bang for the buck and I bought one for $24,650 OTD. The $10,000 dollar savings sealed the deal. Very pleased after 1,100 miles. Still in love.

  • Great car, not so great speakers - 2016 Hyundai TUCSON

I wouldnt think in a modern car that speaker quality on the loaded model would be an issue but these speakers are flat. No depth, lots of drop out at high volume. very disappointing. The rest of the car is great.

  • Love my stick shift Tucson! - 2009 Hyundai TUCSON

Wasnt planning to purchase this but the stick shift sold us. I love the driving experience and Hyundais attention to detail. Warranty a big plus. Ive never driven an SUV so its been a learning experience, but I love this car. Its pretty quiet and handles very well.

  • 1 week old - 2011 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

I have had my Tucson 1 week and I love it. However, as others have noted, the mileage is not what I expected or is reported. I am only geting 21.5 mph on the highway - granted the AC has been on high due to the high outside temps we have been having. May have to contact the dealer about it. Very comfortable especially when compared to my 2001 Forester! Am looking forward to using the heated seats in the winter, which are standard on the GLS model. Loving the blue tooth, XM satellite radio, and steering wheel controls, which are standard on the GLS I hope that it is as reliable as my Subaru was and that I am able to get the mileage up.

  • Had a 2011 Tucson. 2016 not worth it - 2016 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

I traded in my 2011 Hyundai Tucson and regretted it very fast. I had never had an issue with my 2011, so I decided to get a newer and better version and it was a big mistake. Within 2 weeks it was in the shop. It stalls occasionally which is extremely dangerous, the air condition starts throwing out hot air and then goes back to cold after a while. the RPMs go up and down, but the shop hasnt found anything wrong with it. It is in the shop again, and hopefully this time they will be able to fix it and find exactly what is wrong with it. It also has a few recalls which are said to cause accidents. I do not advise anyone to but this car until it is completely fixed.

  • 2010 Tuscon Limited - 2010 Hyundai TUCSON

This car drives like dream. The inside is fully loaded and the outside looks like a car that could cost more then 10k what we purchased for the car. The car is beautiful!! Best car we have owned better than any Toyota we have owned for the last 17 years.
