Model Overview:

A compact crossover SUV, the Hyundai Tucson is aimed at buyers seeking the tall ride height and cargo convenience of a utility vehicle in a small, affordable package. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Tucson has always offered a generous list of standard equipment and a lengthy warranty.

Although early versions of this Hyundai crossover have a decidedly budget feel, 2010 and later Tucsons have distinctive exterior styling and a slick interior to match. Acceleration and handling are also much better on the newer models, and fuel economy is significantly improved. Recent Tucson models are worth consideration if you're shopping for a used small crossover.

  • Great vehicle for the price ! - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

Being a "Toyota Family" for the most part, I decided to go test drive other SUVs and compare some of what the market now has to offer. I was impressed with a few, (the CRV, the RAV-4, and Highlander) but most rides were let downs to my expectations. I have to be honest and say I was pessimistic stopping in at Hyundai to test drive the Tuscon. I took a look at the standard equipment on the vehicle and was shocked to see side curtain airbags as standard equipment. Then after taking it for a test drive and discovering that although the power was not great for the 4 cylinder, it was okay. It must have been. I went home that night and did my calcuations and found that Hyundai was best for my wallet.

I walked into the dealership and after 15min test drive, I walked away with a black fully loaded Tucson. As soon as I sat in the car, I could feel the high level of quality. The car feels a little too heavy for a small ute when driving but it gives you a secure and solid feeling. Hands down a great purchase!

Shopped for a year for the right Mini SUV. Test drove the Ford Escape, Explorer, Saturn Vue, Suzuki, and Chevrolet Equinox, among others. The Tucsons features and Quality beat them all, hands down, not to speak of the pricing. If you want value for your dollar, test one yourself. American Car Makers, especially, still dont understand that. I drive my vehicles for 10-12 years, and if I take care of them, I expect them to hold up, not fall apart before my eyes. Hyundai builds a solid product. I expect to be driving this vehicle for many years to come.

  • Great value for the money - 2011 Hyundai TUCSON

Hi, Ive clicked over 6 thousand km in this car now, and its been nothing but good so far. I took the top of the line model and even added the front and rear guards, and side steps. Anyway, Ive listed my likes/dislikes. For the money, the car is definitely great value and well worth it. I am a happy camper!

  • Way to go Hyundai - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

I just purchased a Tucson GL V6 2WD. It is an amazing package for the price and it drove better than all the other small SUVs I tested. V6, Traction control, Stability control, 4 wheel discs, 4 channel ABS, mags, dual tail pipes and more convenience features than my Camry, all for 24K! And the best warranty to boot! Smart, smart choice. Just wait till the general public starts to notice the Tucson;... Rav4, CRV, X-trail, Escape and Tribute sales with suffer greatly, and deservedly so!

  • Cute SUV - 2007 Hyundai TUCSON

Weve had our Tucson SE for four months now and love it so far. We have driven it in mountains on one long trip from Wis. to N.C. and it preformed well. We got 4,400 miles on it so far, and enjoy driving it very much. We have read some reviews saying they got poor gas mileage, so far were getting close to 23mpg overall. We like the size of this SUV its is a very roomy five seater. We also love the color we chose alpine frost.

  • Excellent budget choice - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

We have had this SUV for 37K miles and 3 years. An excellent choice - we are now buying a new Hyundai Santa Fe. You get so much more for your money, and the quality is similar to Toyota or Honda. I know because I really checked this out. This car has been a really solid performer and reliable - we will keep in the family instead of selling it. for those who complain about the car, you need to take care of anything mechanical, and of course you need to compare to others in the class.

  • Neat SUV - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

Weve only had the Tucson for a few weeks but really like the way it drives. The interior is roomy enough and the seats are comfortable. Mileage is decent in comparison to larger vehicles. Recommend it to others!

  • Best compact SUV for the $$$ - 2007 Hyundai TUCSON

I have been researching compact SUVs for a year and finally my wife decided it was time to get rid of the 99 Lumina and the Tucson was the front runner by far. All other compact SUVs lack either the HP (CRV & RAV4) or bells and whistles that the Tucson had, and at $2,000 to $3,000 more; if I wanted to spend that much more money I would buy a Mazda CX7. My back doesnt hurt putting my kid into the vehicle anymore. Make sure that you get a V6 engine though.

  • Bad Transmission and Hyundai Corporate silent - 2016 Hyundai TUCSON

This DCT transmission in the Tucson Ltd. 1.6 Turbo is an accident waiting to happen. My wife got stuck while trying to enter 4 lane divided highway. The car stalled while trying to enter traffic and luckily cars were able to avoid her. I put the car in reverse on a hot day and it wouldnt move. We owned the car only two weeks when all this went on. The dealer has the car now and hasnt been able to diagnose or fix. We heard there is no fix available. Dont by this this car.
