Model Overview:

A compact crossover SUV, the Hyundai Tucson is aimed at buyers seeking the tall ride height and cargo convenience of a utility vehicle in a small, affordable package. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Tucson has always offered a generous list of standard equipment and a lengthy warranty.

Although early versions of this Hyundai crossover have a decidedly budget feel, 2010 and later Tucsons have distinctive exterior styling and a slick interior to match. Acceleration and handling are also much better on the newer models, and fuel economy is significantly improved. Recent Tucson models are worth consideration if you're shopping for a used small crossover.

  • 22500 miles and all good except... - 2011 Hyundai TUCSON

Until the last month or so, no real complaints. Never felt it was quite as solidly built as my 98 Honda Accord EX (which my kids are now driving with no problems) but was willing to overlook as I havent bought a new car in 10 yrs and figured maybe standards have changed. However, now Im hearing a bit of rattling in the rear seat left side door that starts up anytime I get over 45 mph.

Bought the vehicle 2 years ago and have had absolutely no problems with it at all. It is a great vehicle to run around the city in.

  • 6 months and happy for the most part - 2010 Hyundai TUCSON

I have now had this car for 6 months and 7,600 miles. I love it but it does have some flaws. The mileage is not what its rated at all. Its actually 2-3 gallons lower on city as well as hwy. I did have a bad battery and the car had to be towed twice in the first week before they replaced it. The biggest gripe with the car is the bluetooth. Its totally lame. I can get good reception for the most part but the party on the other end only can only hear decently on "outstanding roads when driving in little or no traffic". When does that ever happen. The bluetooth is a totally cheap unit and is a burr under my skin. Its probably the reason I wont keep the car more than a couple of years

  • Tucson Bond - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

As a primarily sports-sedan driver, the more I drive my Tucson, the more I am bonding to it. Surprising number of luxury design features, including heated leather seats, reclining rear seats, hard-shell rear compartment cover, hidden full-size spare tire, dual opening rear hatch/glass. Contemporary styling both interior and exterior. User-friendly interior design and controls, with easy accessiblity to compartments and storage. Generous standard warranty.

  • Still Happy After 4+ Years - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

The 2.0L GL is my wifes daily driver for the past 4+ yrs. Other than regular maintenance, no major issues. Weve put 85,000km on the car, incl. a couple of big road trips to the east coast. Gas mileage? 20/25 city/hwy is respectable for this class. For the price? This car has turned out to be great value.

Very nice ride and quiet is the reason I purchased this. This vehicle offered things my other suv did not have. I was getting ready to re purchase a mazda cx5. the tucson has rear air vent, rear seat heaters. Front air ventilated seats along with heat. Blind spot monitor is nice. Panoramic sunroof is nice. Nice pick up with Turbo. Nice split screen with Nav and radio. Beautiful styling in my opinion. A few negatives, Automatic tailgate lift when you get behind it would go off just walking behind it. I turned it off along with lane departure warning. Hard plastic on interior door panels even tho nice interior. I miss the 3 D function of the navigation my Mazda had. On a bright sunny day hard to read temp gauges they get a little washed out. People talked about duo transmission having a little lag but was not an issue with me. All in All a very nice ride. I like it very much.

  • Tucson 2010 Rocks - 2010 Hyundai TUCSON

I purchased a new limited Tucson 2010 for a 4 cylinder has good power, I am specially happy about the transmission changes gears as if it was a Cadillac, I noticed the gas consumption is not exactly what they say it is. But overall so far I am happy, yes I would recommend this vehicle to any body.

  • Dont buy it - 2016 Hyundai TUCSON

At any milage this car can fail to start after a stop including while waiting to make a left turn into traffic. You will be told it isnt broken so it cant be fixed, they never heard of this issue before, you are not driving properly. Hyundai knows about this issue, many "tickets" have been opened ,they are "stonewalling". Check out other blogs, so far I have counted 90 people who have had this transmission issue and I suspect that is a fraction of what the total will be.

  • No Power???? - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

Okay first off, I am an avid car guy. I enjoy reading multiple reviews 4 many different cars and trucks, and I have read several reviews on the new Tucson. Every professional review I read talked about the Tucsons poor performance in regards to its acceleration and transmission. So going into my first test drive with the vehicle I was expecting a sluggish experience. This was definitely not the case at all. No, it wont outrun my Mustang Cobra, but it has plenty of low end punch off the line. It feels eager to go as soon as you touch the pedal. I now proudly own a Tucson and have been very pleased w/it. Build quality is excellent and the value that comes with it cant be matched!
