Model Overview:

A compact crossover SUV, the Hyundai Tucson is aimed at buyers seeking the tall ride height and cargo convenience of a utility vehicle in a small, affordable package. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Tucson has always offered a generous list of standard equipment and a lengthy warranty.

Although early versions of this Hyundai crossover have a decidedly budget feel, 2010 and later Tucsons have distinctive exterior styling and a slick interior to match. Acceleration and handling are also much better on the newer models, and fuel economy is significantly improved. Recent Tucson models are worth consideration if you're shopping for a used small crossover.

  • Fun but needs more - 2012 Hyundai TUCSON

I bought the Tuscon straight out of college, and it was the closest thing I could find to what I wanted in my budget. I would say it has a low-budget feel to the inside. If you do a lot of highway travel, it is loud. It could have used another layer of insulation on the bottom. After 70 mph there is a high squeal coming from somewhere in the window. The dealer hasnt been able to figure it out. There is also a smell of mildew in the car from the AC. Both things are apparently common, but the dealer hasnt been able to figure out. For the price point, its a great vehicle. I have moved large pieces of furniture. Its very spacious. It has some get up and go for a 4 cylinder.

  • Great Buy. - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

Overall I think its an excellent mid entry suv. Its defintely not the largest, but it does manage to be rather spacious and comfortable considering its smaller size. Not cramped like most small suvs. With all the standard features and optional upgrades, I think I made a great purchase.

I liked the Tucson as soon as I saw it. It really caught my eye. I test drove it and was convinced that this was the vehicle I wanted to purchase. I really enjoy the ride and the way it looks both outside and inside.

  • Nice car - 2010 Hyundai TUCSON

We did a lot of comparison shopping. We got the limited with multiple sun roofs and navigation system. Once these extras are added in, this car is the best value, with best mileage. We have driven 1600 miles, including one long trip. In general we have found this an excellent car with great mileage and a lot of nice extras. While the rear-view is somewhat limited through the window, our model has a back up camera. We are very happy with this car.

  • GREAT VEHICLE! - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

I knew this was the vehicle for me as soon as I sat in it. I have only had it for a week, but I couldnt be more satisfied. The vehicle is loaded, great sound system, the ride is smooth even at high speed. Spacious, comfortable, best of all affordable.

  • Visually great but have had problems - 2010 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

Purchased in January. I made a huge mistake by not test driving the one I bought (test drove others) and it turned out to have a defective tire. Once that was replaced the ride was still very uneven and choppy. Dealership service department (West Broad Hyundai in Richmond, VA) treated me very poorly while trying to resolve this. Ended up at another dealership (Gateway Hyundai) that was much more customer service oriented. They rebalanced the tires but the ride is still not what it was in the others I test drove. They have also had to replace the entire XM Satellite Radio/Navigation unit because it stopped linking to the satellite radio.

  • First SUV and Lovin it - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON

I have only had this little thing for a few weeks now but so far I love it. It handles very well on the road and the look is just what I have been looking for, its the right size for me. Only two complaints about it....not enough leg room for the driver and upfront passengers and the gas mileage. Was really hoping for a good MPG but I guess we cant have everything in life to go our way. It is used and I suspect that I will have some small issues coming around but all in all so far im very very happy.

  • Only if hell freezes over - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

Only if hell freezes over will I ever buy another Hyundai. I purchased this vehicle new and the sales person knew that my work required a lot of travel. I bought it and like most people it was for the warranty, However I have learned buyer beware on that. the Maintenance schedule and cost are ridiculous, the mpg sucks. I have had to purchase two sets of tires because of wear, alignments were done each time. the ESP Light comes on and goes off whenever it likes, none of the Hyundai mechanics can seem to figure it out. the car has spent more time in the garage than on the road in my book. and hyundia usa customer service likes to pass the buck whenever possible.
