Overview & Reviews
A compact crossover SUV, the Hyundai Tucson is aimed at buyers seeking the tall ride height and cargo convenience of a utility vehicle in a small, affordable package. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Tucson has always offered a generous list of standard equipment and a lengthy warranty.
Although early versions of this Hyundai crossover have a decidedly budget feel, 2010 and later Tucsons have distinctive exterior styling and a slick interior to match. Acceleration and handling are also much better on the newer models, and fuel economy is significantly improved. Recent Tucson models are worth consideration if you're shopping for a used small crossover.

a wonderful little SUV - 2008 Hyundai TUCSON
By awongmath - November 26 - 3:00 pmI have owned this little SUV for 15 months now, with nary a service problem or defect. I test drove a RAV4, VUE, Escape, and the CRV; I needed a vehicle that could easily tote my daughters everyday wheelchair and a sport wheelchair. This SUV is roomy (can hold her everyday wheelchair in the back or two medium dog crates w/o putting the rear seat down), is great fun to drive, and the turning radius is good (better than Mazda MPV, about the same as a Camry, not as good as a Volvo or BMW sedan).

what I needed in all my trips - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
By Diane Noll - November 22 - 6:00 amI am very impressed with the ride, the comfort. It is big enough to fullfil all my needs, yet small enough to drive in busy traffic.busy streets. parking is easy. This is my first "suv". The more I drive it , The more I fall in love with it.

Poor resale /Trade-in value - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
By K.Kennedy - November 21 - 1:43 amI love my Tuscon, but having a few problems, when you go through standing water you lose power steering and a battery light comes on. Scared I will lose control. Also off and on the power locks will not work have to unlock each door manually.

So far so good - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
By smurfkiller - November 21 - 12:33 amSo far so good. We are coming up on 12,000 miles. I have had the vehicle for just about 5 months and have not had a bit of trouble. I drive it hard every day putting just about 100 miles on it every week day. I have a really bad back, and this thing is comfortable, easy to get into, and fun to drive.

By Margaret McMillan - November 15 - 10:06 pmMy Tucson is the best car I have ever owned. I went to a car show to check out the Escape and on the way saw the Tucson, I went to every small SUV display and kept coming back the the Tucson. Im very, very happy with everything about it. Its all I could ask for.

Very nice - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON
By D - November 15 - 1:53 amWe bought this model 11/2005. It is one solid car. We live near White Mountain, NH. It drives well with winter weather of New Hampshire! Never thought of buying Hyundai before, but we might even buy more Hyundais car in the future.

Dangerous Dual Clutch Transmission - 2016 Hyundai TUCSON
By Melissa Wilson - October 27 - 4:57 pm10 months ago I drove my selling dealership crazy because I wanted the 2016 Tucson Limited so bad. Now I am scared to death to drive my vehicle and recommend all buyers stay away until Hyundai resolves the problem with the Dual Clutch Transmission. On three separate occasions (after 11,000 miles), I have been stopped at a traffic light and depressed the gas pedal on green. The vehicle would not move. The RPMs ran over 4,000 and the vehicle still would not move. Verified car was in Drive on the cluster/shifter and parking brake was off. I managed to get the vehicle moving after several minutes of throwing the shifter into park and then into drive and then flooring the gas pedal. In all three instances, I was incredibly lucky to not be in an accident or cause an accident. I took it to the dealership and they kept it for 5 days. They could not replicate the problem and the vehicles had no error codes. They made me feel like a fruitcake or something. They reset the transmission control module which my Hyundai Case Manager verified wont fix the problem. I have been unable to get the dealership to give me a loaner so I drive my vehicle not knowing when the problem will repeat. Will I get into an accident this time or get killed? With the complaints building on Edmunds and NHTSA, Hyundai needs to stop selling the Tucson and order all of them off the road. At a minimum, Hyundai needs to admit publicly that there is a problem and that owners should be offered loaners by Dealerships if they so request one. Also, owners should have the option of requesting that Hyundai buy the vehicles back. I dont want to give up my Tucson but I want to live more!

Excellent for small family - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON
By sean - October 24 - 9:53 amI bought this as my parents had a Hyundai Santa Fe. It seemed more economical and sporty and it was my 1st SUV. Reliability has been great and very few services (non-standard) necessary. The car is only 2 years old and the armrest has broken due to the cold. Unfortunately the cost is over $300 to replace it. The horn definitely needed to be upgraded. And finally, who still listens to cassettes anymore?

tucson - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
By jtr - October 24 - 8:16 amWith 3000 miles under its belt, the tucson is our favotite over our Lexus 300GT. Styling is the best in category, but still weak and overall guality is excellent. A great buy for the money!
