Model Overview:

A compact crossover SUV, the Hyundai Tucson is aimed at buyers seeking the tall ride height and cargo convenience of a utility vehicle in a small, affordable package. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Tucson has always offered a generous list of standard equipment and a lengthy warranty.

Although early versions of this Hyundai crossover have a decidedly budget feel, 2010 and later Tucsons have distinctive exterior styling and a slick interior to match. Acceleration and handling are also much better on the newer models, and fuel economy is significantly improved. Recent Tucson models are worth consideration if you're shopping for a used small crossover.

  • Why hadnt I heard of this car??? - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

We looked at Chevy Equinox & Trailblazer(used), Highlander, Vue, etc. Hyundai was our last stop. We were looking at the Sante Fes, but when I walked into the showroom and saw the Mesa Red Tucson with grey leather seats sitting there, I fell hard. Although the other cars were "nice", they didnt excite me. The Tuscon did. And once you threw in all the safety features and extras, along with the best warranty ever, no one could beat the deal. (We paid just over $22,000 and extended the warranty.) Have had a week and taken 1 trip to Maine (320 rnd trip) and am extremely happy with this car! Currently getting 20/22 mpg. Our V8 Explorer got 15 mpg city OR hwy. GREAT CAR! We LOVE it!

  • This DOES NOT get better with age - 2010 Hyundai TUCSON

Loved this vehicle when I bought it, but quality issues are starting to pop up. Paint chipping too easily, performance issues, electronic glitches. Service issues too. On a recent visit I got the car back with rear bumper damage. I dont think this vehicle will be in very good shape at two or three years old.

  • My new Hyundai - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON

I have just purchased a Hyundai Tucson and I am very pleased. It drives like a sedan (that was important to me), feels stable on the highway and has a high view of the road. I traded in a full sized van, so I was looking for something smaller without giving up a lot of the pluses found in a van. I was able to afford a car with much nicer "extras" than I had expected in my price range, plus, the extended warranty was an important factor. The exterior styling mimics that of much pricier cars and it has folding seats to help carry any outsized items. So far, its exceeded my expectations!

  • A Terrific Ride! - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

I researched SUVs for close to two months but when the Tucson became available I knew it was the car I wanted. The safety features including stability and traction control are what sold me. At first glance people compare it to the Lexus SUV. I feel safe driving this car!

I was tired of taking my old SUV in repeatedly for the same problems. When I test drove the Tuscon, I was thoroughly convinced. With the V6 it has pep and the electronic stability control has it gripping the road securely and maneuvering like a much smaller vehicle. Its fun to get in it and just drive. It also came with standard ABS brakes and 10 airbags adn a super warranty. Being a sports Mom, it has the room to carry the bat bag, Moms chair, a cooler and still enough room to carpool 3 teenagers to the game. The controls are well located and easy to see and operate. Love the chunky look of it too! While Ive only had it a short while, I am enjoying it immensely.

  • Excellent! - 2007 Hyundai TUCSON

I am very happy with my new car. I love the driving position and the pick-up. Its generally a quiet ride, except on the highway. Fuel economy could be a lot better, I am averaging 19.4 mpg and have driven 500 miles. I expect this to improve. I tested a lot of compact SUVs and crossovers and I could not find any better value for the money.

  • Better than the Santa Fe - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

I baught a Santa Fe in 03 and it seems that Hyundai corrected a lot of the things I didnt like about the Santa Fe with the Tucson. The advertised gas mileage is worse than the lie I told my wife when I was cheating on her. I average at best about 21mpg on the highway. Not what I expected. Nonetheless its looks sweet, rides sweet, and the chicks dig it.

  • better mpg - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

i have owned my gls for a little over 2 monthes now and so far it has been good except for the gas mileage. it is rated between 19-24 mpg and have yet to reach even 19 mpg despite moderate driving. even on the highway only 18 mpg which bothers the heck out of me. other than the mpg is been a fun car to drive.
