Model Overview:

A compact crossover SUV, the Hyundai Tucson is aimed at buyers seeking the tall ride height and cargo convenience of a utility vehicle in a small, affordable package. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Tucson has always offered a generous list of standard equipment and a lengthy warranty.

Although early versions of this Hyundai crossover have a decidedly budget feel, 2010 and later Tucsons have distinctive exterior styling and a slick interior to match. Acceleration and handling are also much better on the newer models, and fuel economy is significantly improved. Recent Tucson models are worth consideration if you're shopping for a used small crossover.

  • Power Failures - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

Bought a Tucson for female, working college student who commutes. Nothing but TROUBLE. Year 1 -it began flashing power lights, and dying on her while driving. Then began having dead batteries randomly. Hyundai Service refused to replace the battery until 2 year warranty was up so we had to PAY for one. Also dead if it isnt driven for several days. Something in the elec system is pulling juice during non- running time but they cant find it and have now given up. We will replace it with one she can be secure and safe driving (and not driving). SKIP THIS MODEL TUCSON!!!

  • great car poor gas mileage - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

I fell in love with the car the moment I saw it, it has nice styling and you get alot for the money, (options, air bags, etc.) however Ive been extremely disappointed with the gas mileage only averasging about 10mpg considerably less then I was promised. When you speak with the dealership they tell you it takes 10000 miles to break in the car. Who ever heard of such nonsense. The car also pulls to the right and they tell me thats from the angle of the road for water drainage. again nonsense answer. Very pretty and roomy car but very poor service from the dealewrship which is very disappointing. To make this a better brand Hyundai needs to rein in its dealers for better service.

  • Great SUV for the investment - 2010 Hyundai TUCSON

I purchased my Tuscon in Jan 2010. I looked at and test drove a Rogue, Rav-4, and Matrix. I wasnt thinking about a Tuscon until I saw one in the showroom. After test driving one I was sold. It had more features than the other models I looked at and cost less! It has ample storage for my needs, has AWD for the rain and snow, and looks great. It even had better gas mileage, which for me is very important since I commute everyday. In the winter my average was around 22-23 real world miles but now that its warmer my average has been 24-25 MPG. On a recent 5 hour trip I averaged 30 MPG! Id like to note that the AWD is 4WD on demand and rides well in bad weather. Id recommend to anyone.

  • I am satified with my investment - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON

I have driven my Tucson for about 1300 mils now and I am fully satisfied. Fuel economy is a bit low in city but itÂ’s a V6 so I am ok. Every thing is standard so what I feel that its value for money. No need to pay around two or three grands extra for Honda or Toyota.

  • Best car for the money - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

I think this car is one of the best cars Ive driven in quite a while. It has great pick up for a SUV. I also like the warranty. It is definitely a car I would buy again.

  • Happy, but not ecstatic about Tucson - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

Pretty little SUV - looks like a new Lexus, except I have dual exhaust and they dont! Gas mileage is fair - I was disappointed (same as my big 8 cyl Mercury Grand Marquis) Buzzy stereo system - Ill probably have it replaced. Need power seats! No need for the automatic/manual shift. Did have engine light come on once- defective "speed sensor."

  • Almost a 10 - 2011 Hyundai TUCSON

I bought my fully-loaded Limited about 2 weeks ago and generally like it a lot. I am not happy with the gas mileage which is about 28.4 on the highway. I was hoping for at least 30+ mpg. The Aurora Blue is a beautiful color which does not show dirt as did my previous black vehicle. I have some hip and back problems, but this vehicle is very comfortable. This small SUV is large enough for my needs and it is nicely equipped. My husband and I are both tall, and theres plenty of room for us.

Love it. The only problem I have is not getting the fuel economy I thought I would. Get 22 pretty consistently. Wanted 25 or more for highway. other than that, its been great for as little as Ive had it.

  • incredible value; better than a minivan - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

I had been driving a minivan for the last 17 years. From the first time I sat in the Tucson, I basically fell in love with it! I thought the Ford Aerostar was the best vehicle ever. However, I changed my mind within the first week of owning and driving the Tucson! Everything about it is just right. Not too big, not too small. Very comfortable. I also like all the safety features and the terrific warranty you get with the vehicle! Im hooked and look forward to many years of fun driving!!

  • My Hburg Tucson - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

We spent apporximately 2 month researching the purchase of a small SUV and everything kept pointing to the Hyundai Tucson. Purchase was based on price, appearance, and most of all safety. We compared this to the Subaru, Ford Escape, Mercury Mariner and several other types and ended up purchasing the Tucson, GLS V6 4X4. We love our Tucson and the way it handles and the comfort.
