Model Overview:

A compact crossover SUV, the Hyundai Tucson is aimed at buyers seeking the tall ride height and cargo convenience of a utility vehicle in a small, affordable package. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Tucson has always offered a generous list of standard equipment and a lengthy warranty.

Although early versions of this Hyundai crossover have a decidedly budget feel, 2010 and later Tucsons have distinctive exterior styling and a slick interior to match. Acceleration and handling are also much better on the newer models, and fuel economy is significantly improved. Recent Tucson models are worth consideration if you're shopping for a used small crossover.

I just purchased my new 2010 Tuscon and I absolutely love it!! Edmunds.com helped me pay the price I wanted to pay and the whole experience at the Hyundai dealer was great!! The car is much more than I expected. It is fun to drive, comfortable, and the interior is dazzling, touch screen and voice activated commands are a plus!! Great stylish exterior. Get one!!!

Steers like a truck. Transmission shifts to many times, when not needed! Poor gas mileage. Large blind spot in rear side windows. Black fender molding chips easily and shows white.

  • My new ride - 2017 Hyundai TUCSON

Look for a car to replace my 2001 Mazda Tribute. The Hyundai Tucson Sport does the job. While I have only had it for 2 weeks I am enjoying it. The seating is comfortable even for my 6 2" frame. Visibility is good and the ride is great. Just filled it up and got 24 mpg driving in town. I love the kick it has with the Turbo engine. Rear seating is comfortable and the cargo space meets my needs. The instrument panel and displays are well layed out and very easy to use. The only down side is it hesitates at times when turning at an intersection after coming to a stop. I cant quite understand it but if it continues Ill take it to the dealership. If you want a small SUV I recommend this one.

  • Denver Winter Vehicle - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON

After lengthy research I finally settled on a beautiful navy blue 06 Hyundai Tucson V6 4WD with sunroof package. I love it! I live at the top of a pretty steep hill which has always been something of a winter challenge for me in the past. Not any more. The Tucson is heavy enough and peppy enough to get me home every time without fail. It handles wonderfully on ski trips and is super easy to get our gear in and out with the quick release rear seats that fold to a flat deck. Its been on a road trip to AZ and zoomed right on through the mountain passes. Its still pretty new so Im hoing that it becomes less thirsty with a little more break in time.

  • Nice SUV - 2007 Hyundai TUCSON

This is a nice SUV, for those not needing a huge vehicle. The outside is very attractive - sleek. Not boxy like other SUVs. I chose Nordic White and had black pinstripes added. I love it. Special features that cost more on some SUVs come standard on the Tuscon.

  • Great Value for the Price - 2010 Hyundai TUCSON

This is my first Hyundai and I find the Tucson to offer the best features and most comprehensive warranty for the money. I have driven over 8000 miles getting about 22-24 mpg in the city and 26-32 on the highway. Mileage is subject to wind, a/c, and tire inflation pressure. I gained an additional 2 mpg by increasing the tire pressure from 30 to 40 psi. Plenty of room for a family of four and our luggage even on longer trips.

  • good little SUV - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

All in all its a great value. Roomy for a small car. Nothing is exceptional, but nothing is poor either except for the gas mileage. Im getting 17 to 19 mpg.

  • Love It! - 2010 Hyundai TUCSON

Have had it since March, Love my Ride!!! Turning Radius is so small its like driving a go-cart, so much fun to drive. 6 speaker stereo is awesome too. I really have no complaints except the drivers seat could have been filled with firmer padding on the sides, seems to be wearing out already. Getting 25 MPG around town and 30 on the highways so very pleased with that.

  • Dont purchase vehicle until they find a solution - 2016 Hyundai TUCSON

I purchased this car last year and I wish I wouldve bought a different car. I started experiencing jerking issues a few days after I purchased the car. Not safe at all! The acceleration is poor as well. Also, my dashboard light changes when Im traveling at different speeds. I always keep the lights on the lowest setting and it randonmly changes without me touching it. I only have a little over 4k miles on this car. I rarely drive the car because I work from home now. However, I dont see this car lasting two years without having major mechanical issues. The transmission will be the first to go! Please, consider other options before purchasing this vehicle.

  • Excellent All-Purpose SUV - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

I absolutely love my new Hyundai Tucson. It drives beautifully, is comfortable, is good on gas, and is very stylish. My only disappointment is that it is sluggish on hills even though it has a 6-cylinder in it. It often has to shift down, just to maintain driving speed when going up inclines. Otherwise, I havent found a small SUV that fits my own personal needs as well.
