Model Overview:

A compact crossover SUV, the Hyundai Tucson is aimed at buyers seeking the tall ride height and cargo convenience of a utility vehicle in a small, affordable package. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Tucson has always offered a generous list of standard equipment and a lengthy warranty.

Although early versions of this Hyundai crossover have a decidedly budget feel, 2010 and later Tucsons have distinctive exterior styling and a slick interior to match. Acceleration and handling are also much better on the newer models, and fuel economy is significantly improved. Recent Tucson models are worth consideration if you're shopping for a used small crossover.

  • My first Hyundai - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

I have only had this SUV for 2 months. I traded in a Honda Accord and was concerned about the quality of a Hyundai. I test drove the Toyota RAV, and Honda CR-V. They were okay, but I hate having the spare tire hanging on the tail gate. Honda also goes cheap when adding extras like sun shade tint on windshield and a decent front center arm rest. When I drove the Tucson, it was fun and the ride is excellent.

  • Best Mid-size SUV out there - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

It is fun and drives very well. The suspension is great and it handles better on curves than other SUVs Ive driven. The engine is smooth runing and the automatic shifts VERY smoothly. My only complaint is wind noise at 55 MPH. It could be a little quieter. The sound system is great! And best of all, the seats are comfortable. Id have no trouble recommending this car to anyone who is unsure about buying a model in its first year on the market.

  • THE "SMART" BUY - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

This is Dads commuting SUV. I wanted something that affordable, cost efficient for commuting, and fit in the garage nicely. The fact that this card was only 170 inches long meant that I could park in the garage and still have room for the kids bikes. (32 inches shorter than my old Intrepid.) I compared the CRV, Escape, and Tribute, Escape, and Santa Fe, Sportage. You just could not match the value of the Korean vehicles. I decided I like the look and Styling of the White Tuscon over Kia and other models. To each there own.

  • Great car for the money - 2011 Hyundai TUCSON

Ive had my Tucson for a couple weeks now and Im loving it. The fuel economy is pretty much exactly what it states in the window sticker (rare for a vehicle nowadays). I chose the Tucson for the looks and for the price and after one test drive I knew it was the car for me. Its comfortable, visibility is good, and comes with a lot of options standard that some auto makers do not include. I would definitely recommend this vehicle!

More than we expected, even considering the excellent reviews wed read. This is our third Hyundai (2 Elantras), and over the course of 70K plus miles, weve never had a single problem.

Durable, reliable and fun. First car I ever had and I loved it. I put that thing down ATV trails and logging routes and it took it like a champ. Quick pick-up, quiet, and very sound-proof. Surprising room when seats folded down. It lacked superior gas milage, but averaging at about 20 mpg, it wasnt too bad. Also wasnt impressed when the back window fell off into my hands after the hinges somehow corroded. Rusting was a problem inside back door. I installed an after market sound system (dash stereo, all 4 speakers and a subwoofer). Stereo installation was a pain in the you know what, but the speakers and sub wired with incredible ease. Got me where I needed to go and had fun doing it.

  • So Far So Good - 2011 Hyundai TUCSON

We just purchased a 2011 Tucson GLS in Chai Bronze. We traded a 2008 Malibu 2LT that we loved, but the warranty was out, and Hyundai offers a great one. We also needed a little more room, which the Tucson delivers. Its not a huge suv my any means, but it gives us what we need with one four year old. The interior in the GLS (Leatherette with cloth inserts)feels more high end than the leather in the Malibu. The soft touch interior surfaces are much better than the plastic in the car. With the popular equipment package, the GLS has great options. So far our bluetooth and satellite radio are great. We are getting between 26 and 31 MPG everywhere we go with only about 2200 miles (very impressive).

  • Great SUV for the price & dog friendly! - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

This is the third Hyundai weve owned and they just keep getting better and better. I liked the Santa Fe but thought it was a little too goofy so I was leaning towards a Toyota Highlander. For a much better price, we got a great SUV thats good looking and has a lot of zip to it. We bought the GLS with the body cladding instead of the LX because were in Texas and certainly didnt need the seat warmers and I preferred the stereo system that had the cassette player anyway, but I wanted leather, so our dealer used a local shop and gave us much better quality leather than Hyundai offers for much less than the LX package price. Great fold-down flat rear seats for the 3 dogs!

  • So easy to maneuver - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

I owned an Acura previously but because this was so stylish and comfortable I bought it anyway, plus it has 6 air bags. It is extremely easy to handle, and extremely comfortable. It hugs the road very well. I also like the heated seats, 6 CD changers, great sound system. And again the design is a real attention grabber.
