Model Overview:

A compact crossover SUV, the Hyundai Tucson is aimed at buyers seeking the tall ride height and cargo convenience of a utility vehicle in a small, affordable package. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Tucson has always offered a generous list of standard equipment and a lengthy warranty.

Although early versions of this Hyundai crossover have a decidedly budget feel, 2010 and later Tucsons have distinctive exterior styling and a slick interior to match. Acceleration and handling are also much better on the newer models, and fuel economy is significantly improved. Recent Tucson models are worth consideration if you're shopping for a used small crossover.

  • Almost perfect if youre not expecting an MDX - 2011 Hyundai TUCSON

We have about 500 miles on our Limited 4x4 w/all the options. In many ways this car rivals our 50K Acura MDX. It has all the same options (nav bluetooth back-up camera) which we have come to appreciate in the MDX. But they are much more intuitive and easy to use in the Tucson. Where you really notice that its a 20K less expensive vehicle is in the road noise, most of which seems to be coming from the tires. This is a noisy vehicle, to the extent where its difficult to carry on a bluetooth phone conversation due to the tire noise. For 20K less Ill put up with it, though. I would buy this again, and Im glad we chose this over the very bland Honda CRV.

  • Disappointed customer - 2010 Hyundai TUCSON

The paint - chipped less than a month (exactly 28 days). Im so disappointed. The dealership repair was poor- they just touch up with paint which was so obvious to see because its not the same color as the original and the touch up paint comes off, also the original paint continues to peel. The in charged from dealer repair told me that they will paint the car in the body shop. I cant believe it. A new car repainted? For me they should change that part not just painting it because its brand new. Now, Im planning to talk to the manager, missing my work and hoping for the best. Was so excited I bought my new car, then less than a month so disappointed. How I wish i can undo everything.

Whats this poor gas mileage? Got 26.3 mpg on the first trip of 320 miles! Sound system is great - cruise control is tight and the ride is solid. Its just fun to drive and Ive been doing that for over 45 years. What used to be extras are included - heated outside mirrors, fog lights...and what a warranty that includes roadside assistance. Seems impossible to beat or even come close!

  • I love my Tuscon Limited - 2011 Hyundai TUCSON

Just purchased the Hyundai Tuscon and I love it. Very comfortable seats. Went to Dayton, OH and got about 26 miles per gallon. Highway noise was limited, and the ride was comfortable. Plenty of driver and passenger leg room. The controls are very easy to reach. Good pick up and go. Was able to pass with having to floor it like I did in my Saturn Vue. So far I am very pleased.

  • have loved this car, but have fallen out of love - 2016 Hyundai TUCSON

mostly i am enjoying this vehicle. but the front seat has become more and more uncomfortable. specifically the headrest. it makes not sense to me that it needs to be jutting out so far as to push my head and neck out of alignment. i tried a cushion, but nope. 2 weeks ago i found out i have 2 ruptured discs in my neck after 2 weeks or so of neck pain. now im in physical therapy to treat this problem, which involves proper alignment of my shoulders and neck. this headrest is messing with all of it and there is no way for me to get comfortable or sit correctly in this seat with this headrest in place. did the headrest contribute to my neck problem. i cant say it didnt. had i known all this, i would not have bought this vehicle. i am 51.5" and very petit, so my this may be conflicting with the design of this seat. but no matter what my height and build, i should still be able to get a comfortable position.

  • Tuscon - Good Mileage, Interior Room - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

I drove my 4 Cyl 5 Speed Tuscon 8000 miles from the NY to Oregon and back. Over the trip I averaged 26 MPG (70+ MPH on most thruways). I also found that wind resistance is a major contributor to the mileage. I got much better mileage in the high altitude states of Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana than in the lower altitude states. I also am very suspicious of ethanol because when I used it in Iowa and Nebraska I got by far my worst mileage (22 MPG). I am very satisfied with my Tuscon in most respects. I found that the odometer is off by 3% (you have driven 3% further than it says, so my milage was actually 26.8 MPG). I also am not happy that two levels of my wiper intermitent settings no delay.

I own 2006 Tucson diesel automatic UK spec bought new, I have had no problems with it whatsoever the acceleration is outstanding. Around town the mpg is 28, on a run I have achieved 54 mpg. The mpg figures obtained in the usa models are to say the least dire. Get a diesel much better

  • Unsafe and terrible customer service - 2016 Hyundai TUCSON

Ive been leasing this car for about 2 months and the brand new car shut off on me randomly twice! First time it shut off I had to pick my toddler up from daycare that is 40 min away and they told me they will come in about an hour and half to tow my car and they will not give me a loaner or anything g to replace the vehicle while being looked at while my toddlers school closed and they are waiting for me to grab him I kept trying to start the car in a panic and 2 hours later befornethentow trick got to me the car started and I rushed to get him. The next day took the car to get looked at at Paramus Hyundai service center and spent the whole day there with my baby for them to tell me my car is fine and told me I gotta go that they are closing, meanwhile I tell them I do not feel safe driving with my baby in a car that shuts off with no warnings in middle of the road and I want a loaner and this car looked at more to find the problem they said no and thats not their problem. Following week sure enough the car shuts off again at 8pm in middle of the road with my dogs and baby in the car and this time it never went back on, cops stopped the traffic moved the car off road and when I called the sos they told me they cannot tow the car because the service center is closed and they cant get permission to part the car there... So we walked home from that area about a 15-20 min walk at around 10pm I had to drag the baby back with me early morning to tow the car and sit at the crevice center all day with my poor son crying and eventually that place brought me to tears, having me there all day not tellin me anything till the very end of the day giving me a lot of problems about giving me a loaner car and only "pulling some string and giving me a car seeing that Im stuck there with a fed up toddler. No one helping me no one cared the first time it broke, now I do not feel safe in this car I also want money back from the time I spent without a working car I pay so much money for for for my time lost sitting on the phone and being transferred from person to person to tell me they cannot help me, calling corporate for them to transfer me from person to person for an hour me explains my issues over and over again to different people for them to tell me someone will call me that can help me in 3-5 business days!!! Are they crazy?! I dont want this car I dont want to deal with anyone from Hyundai anymore!!!!!! Im fed up my family is fed up I have never had so many problems with a car or with customer service as I do with this Hyundai Tucson limited! Im disgusted with the way I have bk even treated and I cannot believe Im still in this unsafe car that supposedly was fixed, a car that shuts off like this after 2 months of driving it brand new is not a safe car and is not worth $466 a month!

  • Leader of the Smaller SUV Pack! - 2007 Hyundai TUCSON

Only have had the car about a week but it drives great, real smooth and has comfortable seating. I love the Nautical Blue color I have. So far no issues, but I have only 320 miles on it. I am a loyal Hyundai owner (traded in my Elantra plus my husband has an Elantra) and the Tucson does not disappoint what I have come to expect with Hyundais. I got the base model, but boy is it loaded with features for a base model! The only complaint I have is the GLS seems to be a touch underpowered at a 140 HP 4-C engine. But then again, the 4-C gets better gas mileage too. Got almost 400 miles to my 15 gallon tank full, so thats not bad.
