Model Overview:

A compact crossover SUV, the Hyundai Tucson is aimed at buyers seeking the tall ride height and cargo convenience of a utility vehicle in a small, affordable package. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Tucson has always offered a generous list of standard equipment and a lengthy warranty.

Although early versions of this Hyundai crossover have a decidedly budget feel, 2010 and later Tucsons have distinctive exterior styling and a slick interior to match. Acceleration and handling are also much better on the newer models, and fuel economy is significantly improved. Recent Tucson models are worth consideration if you're shopping for a used small crossover.

  • A great buy! - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

I love my Tuscon. This vehicle is incredible. I routinely get comments on how nice and easy the ride is. The drivability is great as it has very quick reflexes. Its awesome. Fuel economy is the same as what I had in my old sedan--24mpg. Its stylish, versatile, easy to drive, and an excellent buy.

  • Best For Your Money - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

I would highly recommend this to anyone searching for a quality built vehicle. They gave this suv a lot of thought. Has alot of room to haul people or grocerys. The warranty they put behind this suv is amazing. If all the other manufactures can build them this good then they would back it up with a warranty like this one has. It is a joy to drive. I would buy this one again.

  • Beware of a Tucson - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON

I purchased my 2006 Tucson new. I was expecting a great vehicle. Instead I got a vehicle with a lot of problems. The rotors warped at 300 miles and again at 14,500. I have had to have the radio replaced because it drained my battery on two occasions and left me with a dead car. The moonroof whistles and they cannot correct it. That is why they give you a deflector with the vehicle because it is a design flaw. The interior marks extremely easily and if very hard to clean when marked. The best I can get on gas mileage if 21.7 even though it was rated 19 and 24. I would never buy another Hyundai and cannot wait to get rid of the vehicle. The alarm system makes no sense.

  • Great Mid-Size SUV - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

I purchased this car on an impulse while I had my 2001 Santa Fe in the dealership having foglights installed on it. While I was waiting, I took a Tucson for a test drive and fell in love with it. Even though I loved my Santa Fe, I obviously like the Tucson even better. I have nearly 2000 miles on it now and Im pleased with everything about it. It drives like a dream, is very comfortable, and has all the features I like. Id heartily recommend this car to anyone looking for a smaller SUV.

  • Well Satisfied - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON

I purchased my Hyundai Tuscon about 6 months ago. I have been nothing but pleased. The vehicle is fun to drive, roomy and certainly is a good value for the money. No other SUV can match this one for features for the money and sporty appearance. The warranty is a big plus though havent had even the first problem.

  • Hyundai Tuscon 2016 DCT Transmission - 2016 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

Stay away from this vehicle. I have 13,000 miles. DCT transmission always acting up. Sometimes stalls, hesitates off the line, will not move forward / acts like it is in neutral when starting at red light. Dangerous vehicle, never no if you are going to move forward when you accelerate. It acts up several times a month. Most of the time the Dealer cannot replicate it because you can not make it happen. Very aggravating.

  • JUst blown away! - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON

I was looking to purchase the Santa Fe originally but once I saw the Tucson up close and drove it, I had to have it! I anticipated the vehicle to be as small inside as it is on the outside but boy was I wrong! It has a big truck feel for sure! There is ample room inside for hauling whatever within reason. The 2.7 V6 has nice power and acceleration plus the tranny is smooth and tight. Mine is the 4x4 model which operates at 90% front wheel drive and 10% rear unless you go 50/50 with the push button. The traction contriol system with the 4 wheel ABS works great! It keeps the truck very stable. The overall look of the vehicle is outstanding! Ive had people think it was a BMW X3 already!

  • Fun, Stylish, Righ Price - 2010 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

Traded in a 2004 Maxima for the new Tucson. Quite peppy for a 4-cylinder. Nice and quiet on the highway. Getting right about 25mpg with mixed driving in an AWD is outstanding! I can see with every rear-view mirror just fine. Actually turning my head to check traffic does produce some significant blind spots but managable with mirrors. Bluetooth and stereo controls are awesome but the iPod interface is a tad wonky, but works well when you get the hang of it. The horn belongs on a tiny pink plastic Barbie car. The leather interior is top notch and very comfortable. The cup holders are a bit large for most of the drinks I get but nothing sloshes around. I am extremely satisfied with this car!

  • LAG is terrible and fuel mileage NOT even close - 2016 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

The lag when you accelerate is not only annoying but DANGEROUS. Several times I have tried to pull out into traffic where I really needed to pick up speed quickly. Hit the gas and the car sits there for a few seconds.....and THEN darts out into traffic when you have another vehicle coming up on you. Also, forget about using the ECO or even regular setting. If you want any pep AT ALL, plan on having it in Sport mode all the time. And even then you arent getting much. Fuel economy not even close to what they say. The most I have gotten in city is 17 mpg and it has been as low as 12.....yes 12!!!! This will be my last Hyundai.
