Model Overview:

A compact crossover SUV, the Hyundai Tucson is aimed at buyers seeking the tall ride height and cargo convenience of a utility vehicle in a small, affordable package. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Tucson has always offered a generous list of standard equipment and a lengthy warranty.

Although early versions of this Hyundai crossover have a decidedly budget feel, 2010 and later Tucsons have distinctive exterior styling and a slick interior to match. Acceleration and handling are also much better on the newer models, and fuel economy is significantly improved. Recent Tucson models are worth consideration if you're shopping for a used small crossover.

Traded in our Audi Convertible because we needed more room. This is our first SUV and love it. It sits high with comfortable seats. Controls are easy to use. The dashboard looks impressive and the interior is pretty impressive as well. It doesnt look cheap at all. Our gas mileage, although only for 200 miles has been 30 miles/per/gal. Excellent. Of course thats mostly with hwy. The ride is ok, drives a little rough and you feel the bumps. But we are used to sedans. The car is worth the price and more.

Completely satisfied with this vehicle. Road performance - Excellent Looks - Different than the average SUV. Stands out. Mileage not as good as desired. But, everything else about this vehicle makes up for more than that. This vehicle lets me be completely in control. My first SUV was a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe. Fell in live with this make the first day I sat behind the wheel after purchase. I would never consider another make or model.

  • All around fun! - 2010 Hyundai TUCSON

I waited until I drove 2000 miles before writing a review. I absolutely love my black Tuscon and look forward to driving it everyday. It runs great and looks even better. In my opinion, its the sharpest compact SUV on the road now. Im averaging 24 MPG so Im not complaining. This awesome vehicle is well worth the 26K I paid for it when I compare the Tucsons features to the competitors. I dont use the Bluetooth so I cant comment on that. I do, however, love the XM radio and i- pod player. The sound system is really good. I really like the way the dash controls and steering wheel controls light up in blue. This is the happiest I have ever been with a new car purchase!!

we have purchased the tucson this vehicle replaced a truck.. we had a dodge ram 1999 1500 quad cab... the ride, comfort and over appearence of this sporty suv is what led us to buy it.. my wife feels comortable and saffe in the tucson. all the features on it and with all the air bags she feels safe. i thought i would never like a suv after riding in friends fords chevy and toyotas but after riding and driving the tucson i fell in love with it.

Very pleased, looked at Venza but reviews on 19" tires killed it. Tucson good get up and go, comfortable and nice tight handling. NAV system a real pleasure and easy to use. Most important is my wife likes it, her car! Back up camera nice feature, very useful in parking lots. Really liked the design and this was deciding factor vs. others in this size. Rides well, its firm which my wife and I prefer, and for this type of vehicle is pretty quiet on all roads. No sqweaks, rattles etc, well built. Transmission extremely smooth best Ive ever experienced. I have an Elantra and if the Tucson is comparable I have two great cars. Gas averaging around 24-26 all around, will take on a trip soon.

  • Best SUV Ive owned - 2008 Hyundai TUCSON

We live in the "outback" of New Mexico, a mix of bad paved roads and dirt. Ive owned a 4-Runner, a Tundra, a Subaru and a mix of Detroit bummers, this small SUV is at the top of the list. We got about 27mpg in the Subaru along with a tough ride. We get a great ride in the Tundra, but truck mileage. In the Hyundai we get 30 on the highway and a Tundra ride. (and a Tundra sound system, AM/FM/CD/Cassette.) I hope this one is as long lasting as a Toyota cause we intend to keep it as our main ride. Ive read the comments about "ungainly ride" but that isnt my experience at all. In fact this one rides as well as the Tundra which is like a limo.

  • Tuscon: Overpriced Disappointment - 2012 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

I purchased a Tuscon because I wanted the style and improved gas mileage over my heavy Chevy. I had owned a number of Hyundai vehicles and had largely been pleased with them. Two Sante Fes and the Luxury Hyundai. This vehicle did not match up. My son said, "You dont drive this car. It drives you." Constantly have to correct steering. Cant control acceleration. Wont accerate, then takes off whining. I was happy the day I bought it and the day you sell (albeit at a loss). Miserable in between. Dealer unable to remedy any of the complaints. Sold at 12,000 miles. Whew. Will never buy another Hyundai. Got my Equinox back and love it as well at the real 32 mpg.

  • Best Compact SUV - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

The Tucson is the best compact SUV Ive driven, and I tested the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, and the Jeep Liberty. While not a sports car by any means, there is adequate power with the GLS 2.7 engine. Im getting about 20mpg on mixed highway/city driving...not to bad for the first couple of tank fulls! Cargo room with back seats up is adequate. I think Hyundai has a real winner with this car.
