6 Year Review - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
By red70 - March 31 - 3:06 amSince the last 5 year review, have solved a few issues. #1) Removing the interior dome lights have solved the battery going dead problem. Maybe its related to the automatic lamp dimmer circuit which activates when you close the door. #2) The trans-axle has not leaked again, and is working fine since repaired a year ago. #3) The door remotes are still intermittent, but I can live with that. #4) Replaced the tires with Kumho tires, and must say they ride nice. #5) I have confidence once again in the vehicle, and now feel the Purchase was worth it.

7 Year review - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
By red70 - March 3 - 5:34 pmLX 2.7L V6 4WD vehicle has been running fine. I only have 48K miles on the vehicle. I just replaced the front brake pads. I change the oil once per year. Hard to believe, but I enjoy this SUV more and more with each passing year. I like this original body style more than the new Tucson design. It has better visibility and allows less sun on your face. Also, I prefer a V6 engine. It still has more torque than the new Turbo 4 cylinder engines.

Fun and Flexible - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
By pharmac - January 25 - 6:50 amI have had my Tucson for about 2 months now, almost 2,000 miles into it I have no complaints. It is well put together, handles very well and is both fun to drive and flexible in carrying items. The second row lays down quick and flat, not having to fool with the head rests is a plus. I do wish it had a 5 speed auto instead of the 4 and I would like a bit more horsepower, but then again, with gas at $3+ a gallon, maybe not. It is certainly agile enough, I pass easily on the interstate and I enjoy the sound system (I have the LX). Overall when people first hear I got a Hyundai, you see surprise on their face, and you see it again when they see it and especially when the get in it. VALUE+

Great except, is gas mileage overstated? - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
By Key1Chuck - January 20 - 8:26 amI enjoy the drive experience. The vehicle feels high quality and well put together. I like the relatively short vehicle length with the small turning radius making it easy to park, maneuver, and fit in the garage. I like everthing except the gas mileage. I got 15.5 mpg in my day to day city driving and 18 mpg on my combined city highway. I saw some write-ups stating that city mileage should be 20 minimum and others saying it should be 19 minimum (my window sticker). I must admit I really enjoy the vehicle but if the window sticker would have stated 15 mpg city, I would not have purchased it. I have owned the vehicle for 3 weeks and have put about ~650 miles on it. (GLS 4WD 2.7L).

Tuscon SUV I Love It - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
By Roadturtle - January 10 - 5:16 pmI traded in a gas hog Ford Expedition. This Tuscon is more fun to drive. Easier to park, and twice the gas mileage. I love it. Very peppy acceleration. Fits into my garage. Has every accessory I wanted included in the price. Six airbags. Antilock brakes. 4 wheel disk brakes. Very safe. I am very happy.
