Model Overview:

A compact crossover SUV, the Hyundai Tucson is aimed at buyers seeking the tall ride height and cargo convenience of a utility vehicle in a small, affordable package. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Tucson has always offered a generous list of standard equipment and a lengthy warranty.

Although early versions of this Hyundai crossover have a decidedly budget feel, 2010 and later Tucsons have distinctive exterior styling and a slick interior to match. Acceleration and handling are also much better on the newer models, and fuel economy is significantly improved. Recent Tucson models are worth consideration if you're shopping for a used small crossover.

  • Worst Car Ive ever owned - 2011 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

Bought this car thinking it would be perfect once the kids left home. I couldnt be more wrong. The seats are very uncomfortable. The bluetooth wouldnt work. Within the first month, the brakes were squealing so bad, you couldnt hear the radio. On cruise control at 70MPH, the transmission started slipping then started in everyday driving. I took it to service, they found nothing on the diagnostics. Before anything else could go wrong, 10 months into owning it, I traded it in. I will never own anything from Hyundai again and will tell everyone I know about this horrible car.

  • Love My Limited! - 2011 Hyundai TUCSON

Bought my 2011 Tucson Limited FWD with Navigation Pkg a week ago. Took it on a 300 mi mostly highway round trip last weekend and averaged 29 mpg. Its comfortable, quiet, and fun to drive. Learning the navigation package is a project in and of itself.

  • Im sold on Hyundai - 2008 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

Great car, great price, room galore. Quite, solid ride. My insurance went down $240 a year because of the safety features. Traded in my 2007 Patriot with no regrets. Tucson has larger storage area, more comfortable seats and sits higher. Very good mileage for this type of vehicle in a 4 cyl. A 4x4 will use more gas. 6 cyl,not worth the trade off for the difference in horsepower and mileage. Trailer hitch can tow small loads from the home centers. It is a heavy vehicle, with the front wheel drive, 4 wheel isnt needed if youre not an offroader. Quieter then the Rav4. Switched to synthetic oil increased mileage slightly. Still breaking in average about 24.4 mpg on hwy.

  • hyundai suv rating - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

purchased the vehicle due to satisfaction with the previous purchase of a 2004 accent (new), same dealer. Hyundai is on par with honda & toyota as far as Im concerned regarding quality, performance and reliability. Dealer satisfaction is also high. The warranty exceptional and the additional bumper to bumper warranty is very reasonable. When shopping, the honda salesperson said Hyundai has to give a 10 yr warr. that Honda products are superior, so I ask, if Honda is so certain regarding its products, why not offer the 10 yr warr., guess what, the salesperson had no answer. Ill stick with Hyundai for mileage and reliabilty.

  • Excellent with one exception - 2010 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

This vehicle is fun to drive and an excellent buy as long as you dont actually expect the Bluetooth to be functional. Youll hear your callers but they will have a horrible time hearing you as it picks up all road noise, etc. Dealership didnt believe me but I gave them the blogs from the internet. They checked with manufacturer who said they have received many other complaints and were looking for a software upgrade to solve the problem.

  • My Tuson - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

The tuson is one of the nicest small SUV I found. I looked at a lot of them including the RAV4 and the Honda CRV, the tuson has lots more room and the the ride is one of the best I found. Was able to get the gas millege up to 25 city and 32 hwy with amsoil 0W-30 and a K&N airfilter.

  • Great car if you can handle the turbo and DCT - 2016 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

I love the DCT and little 1.6L turbo. I get 31 mpg and drive normal. And sometimes Ill hit sport mode and the car is really fun to drive (but I lose some of that great mpg). Lots of people complain about the DCT and maybe there are issues, but not with mine. You have to know what to expect with the turbo and the DCT. It has only a little 1.6L engine and you need that turbo to get it going. Once under boost, it is impressive. The DCT takes about 1/2 a second to engage, just like you would if you drove a manual. Give it the 1/2 sec and it all works great. Id like to see better integration with iOS and Android and a lower cost for the Bluelink package. I had a 2003 Infiniti FX35. The 2016 Tuscon is a better vehicle.

  • First SUV - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

This is my first SUV after owning strictly sports cars. I love the ability to shop and fit many items, including large inside without too much effort. Nice design. I looked at several SUVs prior to this purchase, my decision was based on the design, bank for the buck and the warranty. The mileage is not that great, it has improved. Only getting about 21-22 MPG. Having owned it for just one year, barring any future problems, I would buy another Hyundai.

  • 3 month impression - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

Handles very nice. Light steering, good road control and power in the mountains. Handled very well in snow and sand. Gas mileage no better than my 95 chevy blazer (17 -21 mpg). Dealership has poor sales service, dont go to Bob Lewis! Paint easily damaged by bird droppings. Good stereo system. Relatively quite ride. Good cargo space for a small suv. Driver and passenger seats very comfortable. Not too many blind spots. Can get 4 full grown men in the care with golf clubs! Recommendation: fix gas mileage and dealership.

  • Bad Gas - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

I lost my Santa Fe due to an accident where it was totaled. I then purchased the new Tucson. While it was a great car to drive, roomy and easy to park, the gas milage was intolarable. I was only getting 13 mpg, That was not acceptable so I traded it in for the Elanta. Much better gas milage but i was my Santa Fe back
