Model Overview:

A compact crossover SUV, the Hyundai Tucson is aimed at buyers seeking the tall ride height and cargo convenience of a utility vehicle in a small, affordable package. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Tucson has always offered a generous list of standard equipment and a lengthy warranty.

Although early versions of this Hyundai crossover have a decidedly budget feel, 2010 and later Tucsons have distinctive exterior styling and a slick interior to match. Acceleration and handling are also much better on the newer models, and fuel economy is significantly improved. Recent Tucson models are worth consideration if you're shopping for a used small crossover.

Ill start off by saying that I never thought Id ever buy a Hyundai. But after taking a close look at the Honda CR-V and Toyota Rav4 I just couldnt pass up the great deal that is the Tuscon.

  • What a Car! - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

Read earlier review on fit of exterior panels needing improvement ... not my car or any of the others I saw in the dealership ... this little SUV beat any Mercedes I have ever owned ... and Ive owned a few. It feels rock solid .. and the doors ... they close with a solid thunk you only find in top dollar European cars. Everything works! Radio is very nice ... I live in FL and the A/C ... cold as the artic. Most solid car I have ever owned ... safest car on the road. Great internet deal! I paid $1500 below the "TMV" price for the 2.7L V6. Really recommend this little puppy ... feels like a big car on the road. Best driveaway feel of any car I have bought!

We bought a five speed Tuscon for its price and fuel economy. We love it. It is so much fun to drive and gets so much better fuel economy than the last three automatic transmission Ford Escapes I have had. I love the side view mirror defrost feature and the cargo area liner; its great to just lift up and dirt falls off versus having to vac carpet every time you purchase plants for your garden and bring them home. Its so easy to keep clean and has lots of wonderful little features that you wouldnt expect for the price!

Bought to replace 2000 explorer and have found it to be a great SUV. It doesnt have the cargo area of the explorer but makes up for that in better mileage and much better ride. Fit and finish are excellent. I would highly recommend to anyone looking at this segment of the SUV market.

I love my car. I used to own a van and was not ready to go back into a vehicle. This sport utility is great.

  • Awesome SUV for the $$ - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

This little SUV is AWESOME! I have had no major problems except one minor one. A bulletin from Hyundai came out stating there is a leak onto the passenger floor mat when it rains. I live in WA state and it happened to me. Not too worry the service dept will fix it!! I have the base model and I am extremely happy with it. I had an Elantra GT, but the Tuscon goes much better with my personality. Lots of room for moving or buying too much at the store. I decided to go with another Hyundai for the warranty and the service I receive when I take it in. I recommend this vehicle highly. The price is very affordable compared to other SUVs.

  • Just Right - 2010 Hyundai TUCSON

I wanted a compact suv/crossover with good fuel economy. Overall I am very happy with the car so far, thanks to its compact dimensions its easy to park and maneuver on busy San Francisco streets. Its spacious compared to my old Honda Civic. I opted for the pano moon roof and GPS which are great additions, they make the car feel higher end. I feel the car has adequate power, but than again I am happy to compromise power for the sake of better fuel economy. The styling is great, the car feels solid, and the warranty is best in class. I also looked at the Honda CR-V and Nissan Rouge, but I felt the Tuscon would be a better car for me.

  • So Much Fun! - 2007 Hyundai TUCSON

We just bought a brand new 07 Tucson. I traded in an 04 Volvo S40, and initially was a little wary of buying a Hyundai due to the past stigma of these being crappy cars. I quickly changed my mind when I saw how many features came standard on a base model (which is what I got). For example, the electronic stability control system, the 6 airbags, keyless entry and alarm, power locks and windows, ABS brakes, and of course the amazing warranty. We have only had our Tucson for 2 weeks, but we love it! It is well designed and very fun to drive. I would recommend this car to anyone.

actually my model is a front wheel drive limited. i took months to choose. i wanted a small footprint car but ultimately justified a suv because it would get me out more. just back from 4,000 mile roadtrip within a month of buying it. it handled well--light on its feet, agile compared to my 2002 a4 audi sedan which i was trading in. it now seems higher and wider in the interior but shorter. i find i drive slower feel safer being higher. mileage varied 19-26 mpg on the trip. couldnt be happier. i think it looks better than any other suv on the road.

  • Great small SUV - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON

It is really nice, and comes with a lot of options standard. Great for the price and very well built. The V6 has good pickup and it drives very well. I had a 2 door sports car before this one. It was a big change but I am really pleased with the Tucson. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a SUV that has a lot of options yet affordable. Gets good MPG too.
