This Year's Model Updates:

The Hyundai Tucson is an all-new compact SUV from Hyundai. It rides on the Elantra platform and is intended for buyers who want a smaller package than the midsize Santa Fe.

Pros:
  • Generous warranty, standard ABS and stability control, roomy passenger and cargo space, attractive interior, standard side and head curtain airbags.
Cons:
  • Low horsepower rating, some cheap interior materials here and there.

  • Just love it. - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

We just love our new Tucson. Just came back from vacation and our V6 went right up those Pa. hills. The ride is very comfortable. The seats wrap around your back for support. We went to test drive a car and came out owning a Tucson, so glad we did.

I did and you should, too. It is the most fun Ive had driving a vehicle. Not too big, not too small.

  • The Best Compact SUV - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

Ive droven probably all of the compact SUVs out there, and this car is probably the best of the best, beating Toyota, Honda, and Ford. It has the best ride, best quality (interior and exterior fit&finish and well as materials), best design, and best handling. It rides very well, is quiet and very refined.

We traded in an 2003 Expedition 12mpg. We bought the new 2005 Tucson LX V-6. The paint is beautiful. Its truly fun to drive. Seats 4 comfortably. We have 1200 mile on the Tucson. We get 19 mpg around town.Since we drive about 99 % around town I am very happy to get this kind of great mileage. The leather seats have seat warmers. My wife loves it. The best car, best warranty, and its cheap, and fun to drive.

we bought this last November, this is a great suv for teenager or couple with 2-3 kids. The interior are well design, cruising is good like a car, quite, you feel the safetyness inside of it. better acceleration, brake & control....

  • Fun and Flexible - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

I have had my Tucson for about 2 months now, almost 2,000 miles into it I have no complaints. It is well put together, handles very well and is both fun to drive and flexible in carrying items. The second row lays down quick and flat, not having to fool with the head rests is a plus. I do wish it had a 5 speed auto instead of the 4 and I would like a bit more horsepower, but then again, with gas at $3+ a gallon, maybe not. It is certainly agile enough, I pass easily on the interstate and I enjoy the sound system (I have the LX). Overall when people first hear I got a Hyundai, you see surprise on their face, and you see it again when they see it and especially when the get in it. VALUE+

  • Great except, is gas mileage overstated? - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

I enjoy the drive experience. The vehicle feels high quality and well put together. I like the relatively short vehicle length with the small turning radius making it easy to park, maneuver, and fit in the garage. I like everthing except the gas mileage. I got 15.5 mpg in my day to day city driving and 18 mpg on my combined city highway. I saw some write-ups stating that city mileage should be 20 minimum and others saying it should be 19 minimum (my window sticker). I must admit I really enjoy the vehicle but if the window sticker would have stated 15 mpg city, I would not have purchased it. I have owned the vehicle for 3 weeks and have put about ~650 miles on it. (GLS 4WD 2.7L).

  • Tuscon SUV I Love It - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

I traded in a gas hog Ford Expedition. This Tuscon is more fun to drive. Easier to park, and twice the gas mileage. I love it. Very peppy acceleration. Fits into my garage. Has every accessory I wanted included in the price. Six airbags. Antilock brakes. 4 wheel disk brakes. Very safe. I am very happy.
