Model Overview:

A compact crossover SUV, the Hyundai Tucson is aimed at buyers seeking the tall ride height and cargo convenience of a utility vehicle in a small, affordable package. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Tucson has always offered a generous list of standard equipment and a lengthy warranty.

Although early versions of this Hyundai crossover have a decidedly budget feel, 2010 and later Tucsons have distinctive exterior styling and a slick interior to match. Acceleration and handling are also much better on the newer models, and fuel economy is significantly improved. Recent Tucson models are worth consideration if you're shopping for a used small crossover.

I bought my Tucson on April04, since then, Ive put 6K miles on it with no problems. After reviewing SUVs for months, I was undecided between the Equinox, the VUE and Tucson; fortunately, I think I chose right! Even though I havent had the opportunity to test the 4WD, it seems to be a very solid vehicle with nothing less that good safety features. The vehicle has a decent gas mileage, but the engine could be more powerful; may be they can design a 3.X one able to jump over the 210HP.

I purchased my first SUV and I love it. For the minimal amount of added cost to my payments I should have gone for the GLS like I wanted. I am TOTALLY satisfied with the GL. Havent seen any Tucsons on the road but mine and I am having a ball with it.

  • Comfort & Intelligent Interior - 2008 Hyundai TUCSON

Quality interior & creature comforts sold me on this as well as a solid ride, not jittery like the Honda. Very well thought out! Front seat folds flat, several plugs for accessories such as dvd player, plenty of cubby holes, 6 cup holders, storage nets on back of both front seats. 4 adjustments for driver seat-very comfortable for a bad back. Great ride & handles nicely with tight turning radius. High quality materials. Very quiet & little windnoise. Very deceiving on power, feels like it is slower than it really is, power is adequate, about the same as a Ford Ranger & does great on the hills with it smooth shifting tranny. Can manual shift. Excellent mileage, 27 mpg in town.

  • Great Christmas Present!! - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON

We purchased this car on Dec. 18th and have had a lot of fun with it so far. It handles beautifully and is extremely comforatble on long drives. The engine is quiet, the ride is smooth and the interior is very roomy. Incredible standard equipment and the safety specs. were a huge selling point. The price was fair and the value, for what you get, is exceptional, not to mention the amazing warranty. Some would say that Hyundai gives that warranty because they expect the car to break down BUT we think they give it to you because it WONT!! We are extremely pleased with the car overall and hope to keep it for a LONG time!!

Very well built small SUV. Very roomy interior and versatile. Very long list of standard features. Best warranty in its class. Could use some more power, but saving plenty at the pump makes up for it. Very quiet ride and independent suspension makes for a comfortable ride.

  • Best Vehicle Ive Owned - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

Im in my mid 40s & I have owned many cars over the past 25 years. This Tucson is by far the best vehicle that Ive ever had the pleasure to drive. I currently own a 2005 Toyota Matrix AWD, too. The Toyota is not in the same class as the Hyundai. I have no interest in driving the Toyota if the Hyundai Tucson is available. The problem is my entire family chooses the Tucson if they need to go anywhere. The car is very reliable, great in ice & snow, has very good visibility, plush & supportive seating, good power, smooth & comfortable ride, the sound system is second to none - What else can I say?

  • One of the best cars I have owned...... - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON

I leased this car then bought it at the end of the lease. I have 90,000 miles on it and it has been trouble free. I did have to have the radio replaced but it was under warranty. I get 23.8 miles to a gallon. The car is fun to drive, VERY practical, and is loaded with features. We have driven this car hard and often. It has been from coast-to-coast and back. I intend to keep it until it dies. It is comfortable, but I DO wish it had another 4-5 inches of legroom in front. We are ALL tall in my family. I recently had the car detailed by my dealership and it looks brand new. I change the oil, fluids....etc..as needed. If you can find one of these cars and it has been cared for, buy it!

  • Be aware of air bags - 2010 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

I purchased my car almost three weeks ago right before the birth of my first child. I purchased this car for the price, style, and safety. Well I only got two of those wished. In the past two months I have only had the car for maybe two and a half weeks. The air bag light in the dash board is always on because the passenger airbag sensor is not working and is never on if there is a passenger or not. Hyundai obviously has no way to fix this problem because after the car being in the shop for a month there is still no resolution just beware if this happens to you because now I have to go through the lemon law and find another car to purchase
