Model Overview:

A compact crossover SUV, the Hyundai Tucson is aimed at buyers seeking the tall ride height and cargo convenience of a utility vehicle in a small, affordable package. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Tucson has always offered a generous list of standard equipment and a lengthy warranty.

Although early versions of this Hyundai crossover have a decidedly budget feel, 2010 and later Tucsons have distinctive exterior styling and a slick interior to match. Acceleration and handling are also much better on the newer models, and fuel economy is significantly improved. Recent Tucson models are worth consideration if you're shopping for a used small crossover.

I have only had this Tucson for a few months but I feel its one of the best values you can get in a SUV. It has more than enough power gets great mileage and good looks.

Solid engineering and reliability. It is primarily used for comuuting. Fuel economy could be better but overall I am happy with the car.

I bought my tucson in april of 2006. Its ok gas the avg I get is 22mpg city and highway. But since i have bought the vechile, it has fell apart. I take very good care of my vechile and the ashtray doesnt stay closed(2nd time ive had the problem, sunglass holder doesnt close(1st time problem). The fuel system is not right, it leaks gas out of the evap valve everytime i fill it, it has gone back to hyundai 6 times for the problem and everytime it is something different, they claim it is fixed. I go to fill it and it still does the same thing. Overall its an ok mini-suv but I am not sure with the problems hyundai has given me, if i will ever buy another one.

Like this vehicle a bunch. Good comfortable ride. Cant beat the warranty. A/C is cold and love the tinted glass. This is my first Hyundai and Im very impressed. Gas mileage is disappointing. Lucky to get 13 mpg in the city. Stereo is great. Nice and roomy.

The automatic shift from depressing the gas pedal to accelerating is frighteningly, dangerously slow.

Great overall small SUV! The turbo is more than enough and the 7 speed transmission is smooth and efficient. It has a dual clutch transmission which acts like a manual at low speeds without depressing a clutch or shifting. Reminds me of my first vehicle I ever drove except with ALOT more technological advances. Nice and roomy inside. Safety features galore. My only complaint is the somewhat numb steering feel. Three different driving modes (Eco, Sport, Normal) that allow you to tailor it to your surroundings. Im averaging 27.4mpg with 80% city driving in Normal mode. Overall I felt I made a wise choice.

You certainly do not need all the extras to feel good in the Tucson. It rides well, feels safe, (I havent had to test the safety features!) looks and has been mistaken for a more expensive vehicle. There is plenty of leg room, front and back. I have driven a small car for years and was completely comfortable with the transition. This is the best upgrade I have made in years and recommend the Tucson in more ways than one. Happy Driving!!

Ive had this care for about 1500 miles and generally am very happy with it. Im excited to get in it in the morning and drive it. I have the top of the line model so I think you have to compare this car to the Lexus NX and Audi Q3. Both are 10K more than the Tucson. This car has all the luxury features that the others have. I now understand the future of driver less cars with all the sensor the Tucson has. It really does make you a safer driver. Although I love driving the car, I do have one concern. The turbo lag from a stand still is very noticeable. Sometime the car just does not respond for a few seconds. Im learning to compensate so I think it will get better, but that is one benefit of a larger engine. All in all I would definitely recommend this car.

Too soon to evaluate reliability with 500 miles. Once you get used to the power steering in about 150 miles -- no issue AT ALL. Hard bumps are noticed but overall driving is nimble and sporty. Accelerates smoothly with little hesitation when your foot is squarely on the pedal. Drive sloppy and you get sloppy. 31-35 HWY but city driving, oh my!. I get off the highway and almost immediately go from 31 to 18-ish with little transition (I drive with the eco light on 90%). Test carseat before purchase. My 1 Britax in the middle makes seating for 2 more people VERY tight. Understand it is a SMALL cuv. Trunk hydraulics move up easily once you pop and nudge. Overall, VERY satisfied with purchase.
