Overview & Reviews
A compact crossover SUV, the Hyundai Tucson is aimed at buyers seeking the tall ride height and cargo convenience of a utility vehicle in a small, affordable package. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Tucson has always offered a generous list of standard equipment and a lengthy warranty.
Although early versions of this Hyundai crossover have a decidedly budget feel, 2010 and later Tucsons have distinctive exterior styling and a slick interior to match. Acceleration and handling are also much better on the newer models, and fuel economy is significantly improved. Recent Tucson models are worth consideration if you're shopping for a used small crossover.

Far superior value to Toyota or Honda - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON
By Tom - August 23 - 2:33 amAfter extensive research & lots of hoofing it on foot in car lots, & many test drives the Tucson rose to the top like cream. The Honda CR-V is ugly & uncomfortable, the RAV-4 was *way* overpriced & lacked features we wanted & the Toyota dealers were arrogant beyond belief. As soon as we drove the Tucson, it was obvious. Super quality build, all the features one could ever need (Even in the bottom of the line GL trim we purchased), & most importantly, safety features beyond compare. Throw in the warranty & it is a no brainier. I find it hard to believe anyone would buy an RAV-4, which is overpriced to start then the dealer wants list price. Yeah right, Ill take my Hyundai thank you.

Gas mileage not what manufacter claims - 2011 Hyundai TUCSON
By mike - August 19 - 10:00 amIf I could do it over I would have held out for gmc terain, same price more horse power and better fuel economy. Also the Hyundai sheet metal is very thin and dents easy, I am trying to find side molding to put on to keep from getting door dinged. The paint on the limited seems poor quality, look close and you can see the flex in the sheet metal because of the thin layer of paint that chips easy. Hyundai still needs work. Design it is cool little SUV drive and handles good. More power and better fuel economy. My old Malibu maxx was a 2006 and got way better gas mileage with a 3.5 v6. At 215 hp.

Dangerous!! - 2016 Hyundai TUCSON
By JO - August 17 - 10:10 amThe transmission is unreliable. Have about 3600 miles on my new car and I never know when it wont go into gear! Tried to go into reverse this morning and the car would not move when I stepped on the gas...dangerous! Have had it to the dealer twice about the transmission and they have a canned speal that says it performs like other cars of this year and model (in other words, ALL of them are flawed). Internet says they are working on a software update and Nissan dealer (who services it in my area since there is no Hyundai service dept. available) hinted a software fix is coming. Hope it comes soon and before I get hit or ram into another vehicle due to the flaw in the transmission! My advice: dont but a Hyundai Tuscon until they address this issue!!!!

A surprise - 2007 Hyundai TUCSON
By fathoms - August 13 - 11:56 pmWith 25K miles and perfect reliability This vehicle runs just as smooth and quiet as when it was new. It was purchase as a local drive around vehicle but we were surprise at its manners on the highway. Quiet smooth comfortable ride and averages on trips about 25.5 MPG. We opt to use it for long trips.

2016 Tucson DCT - 2016 Hyundai TUCSON
By Bob - August 5 - 11:15 pmThe DCT is an accident waiting to happen. There are reviews about the transmission on NHTSA, Hyundai Forum, and other web sites. It only took one time to happen to my wife that I decided to get rid of this car. As expected, dealer couldnt replicate the problem (because it is a design flaw that needs to be addressed by Hyundai). Decided it was too unsafe to drive off the dealer lot. With only 3700 miles on it, decided to trade it in on a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe. Had 2 Santa Fes before with no problem.

Best buy...period ! - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
By Patrick - August 3 - 2:26 amAfter owning nothing but GM automoblies and having nothing but problems, I did my research and bought a Hyundai. The warranty proves a company is not afraid to stand behind the QUALITY of its vehicles. Gas mileage has been decent for an SUV. I average 20 in the city and recently took a trip to S.C. from Il.and was shocked to see an avg. of 26 miles a gallon! I will recommend the Tucson and Hyundai to everyone. Very comfortable, holds alot of cargo with seats folded down, and drives as smooth as many cars I have owned. Overall, a very plesant experience. Build, fit and finish, ease of use are all proof of a leader in the industry trying to satisfy customers.

Tuscon for Corvette - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
By Sam - July 10 - 8:46 amTraded 2002 Corvette for 05 Tuscon (even). Drastic change but no visits to service dept. after 1800 miles. Corvette couldnt pass dealership without needing service. Nice comfortable vehicle so far. Good use of space and comfortable ride. Believe it or not, better milage on the Vette. Main reasons for purchase (swap) warranty and even swap for vehicles. Had 75000 miles on Vette. Ran out of warranty in 20 months. Wont happen with Tuscon.

Great Car for the Money - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
By JimandMaryC - July 7 - 8:10 pmOur dealership bent over backwards to help us find the perfect vehicle. As soon as I got in our Tucson, I knew that it was the one. Its great on gas and peppy. Its comfortable. Plus its got great little extras, such as hooks in the cargo department to latch grocery bags onto so they dont slide! We are so happy with it.
