Model Overview:

A compact crossover SUV, the Hyundai Tucson is aimed at buyers seeking the tall ride height and cargo convenience of a utility vehicle in a small, affordable package. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Tucson has always offered a generous list of standard equipment and a lengthy warranty.

Although early versions of this Hyundai crossover have a decidedly budget feel, 2010 and later Tucsons have distinctive exterior styling and a slick interior to match. Acceleration and handling are also much better on the newer models, and fuel economy is significantly improved. Recent Tucson models are worth consideration if you're shopping for a used small crossover.

We have had the Tucson for about a month and a half...I have already taken a 2000 mile trip....what a great vehicle. The only challange I forsee is being able to get the Tucson away from my wife. We live in Michigan and we cant wait to see how it handles in our winters. With all of its safety features it is very reassuring for my wife to drive. This is our first foreign vehicle.....but if this is any indication.....it will not be our last. The dealership that we dealt with has been fantistic so far...no high pressure...very professional...they let the vehicle sell itself. Try the Tucson..it is a great ride !!!

When I decided I no longer needed a pickup, I looked at RAV4 and CRV, but chose the Hyundai because of price and warranty. I no longer consider American-made cars. The Tucson is roomy, comfortable, handles well, and has great visibility. The 4c engine seems noisy and underpowered to me compared to my wifes 4c Accord, but I no longer need those features. I did expect better gas mileage than 24 mpg, but that may improve. One bad feature is the light-colored interior, which is hard to keep clean. Did not think of that when I bought. I always felt that home carpets and car interiors should be a dark color, as people tend to walk on them. Seatcovers and mats help.

  • Wow! Get this SUV that drives like a car - 2010 Hyundai TUCSON

I Love, Love, Love this car. Its amazingly nimble and drives like a car. This is like driving an Acura TL, but in an SUV version and with better gas mileage!!! everything about this car is amazing. You can really see that a lot of time and effort was put into REDESIGNING the 2010 model. This car should be priced at roughly $10,000 above what it currently sells for. If your in the market for a small, luxury SUV, then I have only one advice for you.....GET IT!

if your tuscon has a sun roof, check it out when it rains. there is a rubber drip rail around the window to catch water.Seal may leak.

I test drove the Rav4, CX-5, Escape, and Santa Fe before deciding finally on the Tucson. My previous vehicle was a VW GTI, so it was important to me to get something that still looked and felt sporty while driving it and this Tucson qualifies for all of that. While I felt the CX-5 handled slightly better around curves, the Tucson gave a smooth and quiet ride. The acceleration is there when I need it, without the bumps of a sporty suspension. Unfortunately, in Hyundai, in order to get a sunroof one must purchase the highest model (Limited-Ultimate) that also comes with navigation and leather seats (with rear passenger heated seats)! Also, the cargo cover and all weather mats do not come standard and can carry a hefty price tag. For me, the bonuses that came with the panoramic sunroof were worth the extra price! I will say I have noticed that this 7-speed transmission can take some getting used to. Much like my GTI DSG transmission, even though its an automatic, it FEELS like a manual at times. On inclines, and some coasting to acceleration scenarios the transmission has lagged to shift into the correct gear. Im currently researching this to see if there is something wrong or just something to get used to.

Bought car 3 months ago and Ive had it in for service 5 times in the last month and a half for a squealing problem it makes when I first turn it on in the morning. Very unhappy with the dealership and service techs at van dyn hoven for not fixing what seems like a simple problem and offering a loaner vehicle. Gas mileage is less than 20 mpgs. Sunglasses holder to small and doesnt fit glasses. Fuel door broke off already when my husband bumped it with his arm when putting fuel in. Made of cheap plastic. Headrest and armrest are also awkward for me.

  • Warranty? What good is it? - 2016 Hyundai TUCSON

I purchased the car in August 2015. A/C did not work properly but technician could find nothing wrong with it. After winter had NO a/c. Car was in shop for 11 days; they couldnt fix it so finally installed a new system. So far so good. Carried it in for oil change June 23, 2016. They managed to blow the cluster panel so Im still driving (7/11/16) a used car not comparable to mine. It has now been in shop for 18 days for this repair and they have no idea when it will be ready. Im paying a new car payment driving pretty much a wreck. Cant give it a better rating since it has been in repair 30 days so far out of the less than 11 months Ive had it. Its bad points outweigh what I thought would be a great reliable selection. I contacted manufacturer and have received no response at all from hqtrs. Im devastated! Worst auto experience Ive ever had!
