Model Overview:

A compact crossover SUV, the Hyundai Tucson is aimed at buyers seeking the tall ride height and cargo convenience of a utility vehicle in a small, affordable package. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Tucson has always offered a generous list of standard equipment and a lengthy warranty.

Although early versions of this Hyundai crossover have a decidedly budget feel, 2010 and later Tucsons have distinctive exterior styling and a slick interior to match. Acceleration and handling are also much better on the newer models, and fuel economy is significantly improved. Recent Tucson models are worth consideration if you're shopping for a used small crossover.

  • Awesome SUV - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

I had the Tucson 4WD V6 for about a month now. It is currently the best value for an SUV. I tested the ESP system in the snow and its almost impossible to make the vehicle slide or to lose control. The V6 offers a good amount of power but a little more would be nice. The back seats are very roomy. Im 61 and I can sit there without any problem. Engines around 2800 RPM at 100 km/h (62 mph) so its very quiet. SportShift works really well and its a nice feature, I cant live without it now ! Radio can play MP3 ! More powerful and quieter than RAV4 and CR-V. Cheaper than Ford Escape for a lot more features. Thats a deal !

  • Bad Tires - 2013 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

I have 15k miles on my car and the tires are bald (3/32 on both front tires). The car is supposed to have a bumper to bumper warranty, but it doesnt cover tires. I went to the tire company (Kumho) they informed me these tires were not meant to last but they will allow me to buy much better tires and they will pay 50%. Hyundai says they are sorry Im unhappy buy not their problem. I was given lemon tires and now I need to spend more money to replace them.

  • Such a fun car to drive - 2011 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

I recently traded in a 2012 Kia Sportage 6 speed manual for a 2011 Tucson that my girlfriend can drive as well. I wish I had gone with the Tucson from the get go. The steering provides relatively good feedback and it responds quickly. On twisty roads I would consider it sporty. The ride can be slightly firm but it IS an suv and that lends to the fun factor around corners. Gas mileage is low 20s but I spend most my days in city traffic and when I can let loose I push the engine. Cabin is comfortable and visibility is great when you properly adjust your mirrors. Completely happy with this new vehicle.

This vehicle is fun to drive. Although youre high above the ground it feels like youre driving a car. Nice design and cheaper than all its competitors...more for the buck!!

  • Im Extremely Satisfied!!! - 2007 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

This is my first SUV. I traded in a Toyota Corolla which gave me excellent gas mileage but was a very uncomfortable ride, particularly for my lower back. I was a little nervous about buy a Hyundai based on previous low ratings. So, I test drove the Honda CRV, Toyota Rav4, Ford Escape and the Nissan Xterra. I was not impressed with any of these models. However, The Hyundai Tuscon passed all tests with flying colors (comfort, style, color, reliability, etc., etc. I just love it!!

  • Rattle and Shake - 2010 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

I loved my car from day one. It never got the gas mileage they swear by, but I still loved it. I purchased it May 2010 and ran the A/C all summer with no problems. After 10 months, the entire car would shake and rattle when the A/C was on. It was like nothing I had ever felt. I had to take it 3 times before they would finally speak to the factory rep. After 5 days, they finally determined the A/C condenser was warped. Its still in the shop today.

  • Nice care but underpowered - 2016 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

Nice car and you get a lot for the price. A couple of issues: the car is underpowered. The care seemed to struggle under hard acceleration. To me 175 hp is anemic. The car does not have seat memory which a car at the price range should and no power folding mirrors which in this day in age should be standard at this price point as well. The car colors are not exactly the best either.

  • Loved it until it became unsafe to drive - 2016 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

Leased the vehicle end of May 2016 - fell in love with the style, comfort, features... On July 25, 2016, took vehicle in for hood latch recall with 1332 miles on the vehicle. While at the dealership service center, they performed a software update. This update created the instrument panel too illegible - the instrument cluster was defected. The part was ordered and it was to take 30 days to be delivered. Fortunately, it took 10 days. Picked up the vehicle on 8/4/16 after work, drove less then 1 mile came to a stop light once it turned green the vehicle would not drive. Being in the center lane of the highway with flashers on, on coming vehicles just missed slamming into the rear. Finally got it back to the dealership, they have indicated it is the dual clutch issue. This is very unsafe vehicle to drive since you would not know when it would just stop shifting and driving. Have registered a complaint with Hyundai Motors as the service department does not know when the vehicle will be repaired. Thank the Lord no one was killed this time! Now I feel this car is unsafe to own. I have a case started with Hyundai Motor Corp. Will see if they stand by their warranties and safety policy!

  • Tucson it will grow on you - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

I bought this suv under the thought of dependability, and not soly on it`s looks.I did not want a large payment and felt this vehecle offered a lot of safety with the six air bags standard. But know that Ive owned it for a short while I like the looks and love driving it. I drove the tucson in nasty weather and it handled great. This vehicle that i bought was a gls v-6 4wd .My only regret is that i should of shoped a little more for a better price. The dealership had only two at the time I purchased it.

  • Love My Hyundai Tuscon - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

This is my 4th Hyundai purchase, first SUV and I love it!!! The Hyundai cars are a terrific value for the price. They run well, look good, have good storage space especially once the back seats fold down. My Tuscon is my baby, it is so roomy, comfortable and looks good. I cant wait to get in the car (I know its a SUV) and Im very careful where I park when I go out. I cant say enough about my Tuscon, I will tell anyone who asks where I purchased it, who was my salesperson and that the service department is great also. My 85 year old mother loves the Tuscon and she has no problem either getting in or out. She cant wait until we drive to Disney in February, 2006 and neither can I.
