Model Overview:

A compact crossover SUV, the Hyundai Tucson is aimed at buyers seeking the tall ride height and cargo convenience of a utility vehicle in a small, affordable package. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Tucson has always offered a generous list of standard equipment and a lengthy warranty.

Although early versions of this Hyundai crossover have a decidedly budget feel, 2010 and later Tucsons have distinctive exterior styling and a slick interior to match. Acceleration and handling are also much better on the newer models, and fuel economy is significantly improved. Recent Tucson models are worth consideration if you're shopping for a used small crossover.

Bought used, previous rental car. Havent ever had a problem with it. It has always been super reliable. We over paid at the dealer, but it was our first "new car". We had no idea of what we were doing. It fits our family of four perfectly. But our kids are getting bigger,so we will be looking for something bigger now. Mini Van.

  • Honda who? - 2016 Hyundai TUCSON

My wife had her 2007 Honda CR-V for almost 10 years and 140,000 miles and loved it. It never gave us a day of trouble--not one--and she didnt even mind that it was loud and rough and crude. Based on this, I assumed that when it was time to upgrade, shed go with the car she felt comfortable with. Nope. She drove a new 2016 CR-V and was pretty surprised that it hadnt evolved at all. In a field of competitors, Honda had done nearly nothing to improve on a car that has fallen further and further behind. Im shocked that it remains a top pick for small SUVs. I chose a few cars for her to sample. She really liked the Subaru Outback and the Hyundai Santa Fe, but then she drove this and fell in love. Its got a taut but smooth ride, a comfortable and quiet ride, great safety features, easy-to-use technology, and its kind of gorgeous. Theres a LOT here to love. My only complaint (it doesnt bother her at all) is that transmission everyone is talking about. By all accounts the problem is much worse on the base model, but even here on the top-line Limited its odd. The transmission doesnt know what to do in certain circumstances, and feels unsettled until it gets it legs under it. It does concern me, but the 100k warranty soothes my brow a bit. All in all, its a pretty great if imperfect car, and I was unable to find a better value anywhere.

Ive owned my 2012 Tucson GLS for two months now and just love it ! It handles well..rides great..and just an all around in & out attractive vehicle. Is it the quietest..or the smoothest..or have all the bells and whistles..NO, but it didnt cost me 45,000 or more either ! The mileage is VERY close to what is stated, Im getting 21-22 around town. I have the Iris Blue and get compliments on the car all the time. I have no complaint at all. Worth the money.

I wanted to love this car....but...one week after having it I was on a canyon in California it began overheating. I pulled over as prompted to let it cool down, went to the dealer was told there was nothing wrong must have been a fluke. This morning back on the canyon had to pull over due to my 2016 overheating....back to the dealership and was told it is operator error. Im causing the car to overheat with the stopping and starting...WHAT?? I apply the break when stopped and accelerate when I need to move forward....and that is the cause of this? While the technician was explaining this I began video taping his explanation...he stopped and told me I needed to speak with his manager. The manager told me there was not need to tape the conversation, the car will overheat if its in stop and go traffic and there is nothing they can do about it. "Thats the way Hyundais are made" ......Ummmmmm.....what? This came from the Keyes Hyundai in Van Nuys.

  • Im LOVIN my new Tucson! - 2007 Hyundai TUCSON

I am so in love with this car, If I could marry it, I would! I got the Desert Sage, Base level model, but even with that, the SUV comes loaded with lots of things standard. I had an Elantra (two of them, actually), so the fact that this is built on an Elantra carriage is great. It rides like a car, but I am ever mindful to not take corners like Speed Racer. I have the 4 cyl, so there isnt a lot of "pep" per se and it feels sluggish on accleration, but I just plan accordingly. Sound system is great in the interior cabin. I like the fold down seats and the lumbar support, but it would be nice if the passenger side front seat had lumbar support as well. Overall, its a GREAT car for the price!

  • Good mileage so far! - 2011 Hyundai TUCSON

I like my Hyundai, just got it 3 weeks ago, it looks great for me, sport style. I got 35 mpg driving in the interstate the first day I bought it. So far the best gas mileage combined city and highway is 27 mpg, not bad for a SUV. My dealership offered me the special paint that will protect the car paint for ever, "unlimited warranty", I hope it works well, and I got the undercoating option too, "unlimited warranty" as well.

  • Welcome back to Hyundai - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

MY first experience with a Hyundai product was a 1986 Excel. Just started searching for a new vechicle and found the Tucson. WOW, I fell in love with it the moment I spotted it on the lot. Test drove it and was hook - had to have it. All the instrumentation was easy to find and read. Controls were easyily accessible. I was new to the SUV type vechicle and I felt at home behind the wheel.
