Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

I have been a hyundai owner for the last 10 years. All I drive are Hyundais. Not only are they reliable, but their warranty cant be beat. The Santa Fe comes standard with more features and upgrades than one can imagine. It also has superior crash test ratings. The interior is classy with the wood grain trim, and it feels very heavy and durable-not those cheap plastic pieces you find in isuzu or nissan. For the price, you cant go wrong!!!!!!!!!!

  • Best Car ever owned - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe

When I mentioned Hyundai to some guys I get the rolling eyes and the standard remarks, cheap, non performing, low ratings etc. I bought my Santa Fe new after much fighting with my hubby who wanted me to buy anything but that. Well, my car has a 155,000 miles and other than regular oil changes and scheduled maintenance (which I performed faithfully at the dealership), the only out of warranty repair I had was a new battery at 101,000 miles and a broken power steering container at 107,000 miles. Its a perfect vehicle for busy families. Its comfortable in the front and back and the back holds plenty of luggage and supplies. The money I saved was used on vacations with my family!

  • Excellent buy for the money. - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe

After owning an Accent since 99 and very happy with reliability, we went and picked up the Santa Fe. Initially test drove the AWD 2.7 but found it hesitated ond pickup was a little slow. Opted to give up the AWD and upgrade to 3.5l. Very very happy with the handling and performance of this truck. The hardest part was keeping it under 55mph during the break-in period. This truck wants to be driven. Very sporty, very comfortable interior with all the creature comforts included as standard equipment. Leather/heated seats, auto temp. control, 6 speaker 6 cd changer auto dim rear view, heated side view mirrors, and on and on.

I LOVE this car! The build quality is amazing, it is beautiful, and it is fun to drive. And that new car smell is sooo sweet. I am amazed at the well-thought out design details. It seems like this design group thought of everything. It is really worthy of your consideration.

Like a lot of people wrote, this is my first Hyundai. I had a 04 CRV w/ 91K miles & wanted something a little bigger w/ a V-6 for towing. I bought this Santa Fe used for $19,800 w/ 7500 miles & had them add nice leather seat and door covers for $900. Got $9000 trade for my CRV which also needed $1500 put into it so this was a deal I couldnt pass on. I drive 2/3 high & 1/3 city. Averaged 26 mpg w/ my CRV & so far Im getting 23 avearge with the SF & 3.3L engine. I drive pretty conservative, use the cruise & avoid hard braking & starts. A friends wife has the same CRV & she only averaged 20 mpg because she had terrible driving habits. What a quiet smooth drive too!!!

  • Changed Opinion - 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe

I was raised on Ford and Chevy. Naturally I was skeptical when looking at a Hyundai, but Im pleasantly surprised so far. We just bought it two days ago and so far Im happy. The price is awesome compared to other brands. It rode just like the Highlander we test drove before-hand. Plus it looks like a Lexus. WE looked at Ford Flex, Toytota Highlander, GMC Acadia, and the Mazda CX-9. This beat them all. I like the iPod interface and the blue interior lighting. All in all, Im happy with vehicle and hope it will last us a while and possibly become our daughters first car. These cars have come a long way from their days of disposable vehicles.

I have never had a vehicle more enjoyable to drive than the Santa Fe. I find the ride to be very comfortable. Noise level much lower than others I tested. This is my first Hyundai but this is not the Hyundai of the 80s and 90s that I remember. All I can say is just try it and give it a chance a try and forget about the past reputation. It has changed and glad I did.

  • a good family car - 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe

This vehicle handles great, even in heavy traffic. Plenty of leg-room in the back, even for a 62" guy. My family of four adults has gone on several long trips and been comfortable the whole time.

  • My friends thought it was a Lexus! - 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe

Did the Cash For Clunkers program; $27945 sticker, $3500 CFC, $2000 Hyundai rebate, $1100 additional dealer discount = $21345 total paid plus fees. First day driving it, my friend sees it and says "Dude, you got a Lexus?" True story. I love the way it drives. Good visibility from the drivers seat. AC works great. Smooth acceleration and shifting. More than ample cargo space. Have never had a vehicle with this many great features including AM/FM/XM/CD radio w/steering wheel mounted controls, powered drivers seat, powered moonroof, and Bluetooth equipped.

Drives well. I used to be a Nissan owner, previously owned Maximas. Loved Nissan and looked at Murano but decided on Santa Fe based on the great look, amenities and price. So far I like the way it drives. Price of gas is about the same as the Maxima, as I used to buy premium gas w/the maxima.
