Overview & Reviews
For 2001, Hyundai comes to market with its very own sport-utility. The Santa Fe is based on a modified Sonata midsize car platform and is available with either front-wheel drive or full-time four-wheel drive with either a four-cylinder or V6 engine.
- Relatively inexpensive price, super warranty, roomy interior.
- Unproven reliability, unimpressive four-wheeling capability, underwhelming powertrain performance.

Im satisfied - 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Hey Sante Fe - April 23 - 3:03 amIts a bit of a putt-putt but it works for me. Acceleration is slowed, nothing like when new but it still works. I usually work close to home so most of my mileage is recreational. Thats cool. Handles really well in bad weather, takes a while to warm up but AWD pulls out of snow and ice with hardly a grunt. Ive seen this vehicle without AWD almost stuck. The extra height helps me to see more, and makes me feel safer, its a smaller but not the smallest sized SUV.
