Model Overview:

One of Hyundai's longest-running nameplates, the Santa Fe is a car-based crossover SUV aimed at buyers seeking the elevated ride height and useful cargo area of a traditional utility vehicle in an easy-to-drive package. Modern versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe are midsize with three rows of seating, quality cabin furnishings and user-friendly tech features. Whether you're shopping for a new or used Santa Fe, value is a big part of its appeal. The standard equipment list is generous, as is Hyundai's warranty coverage.

Earlier versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe range from compact to midsize in dimensions and have seating for five passengers. The 2007 and later models are a big step up in styling, performance and interior space, and they're worth considering if you're shopping for a used midsize crossover. Hyundai has since subdivided the Santa Fe line into two models: the two-row Santa Fe Sport and the three-row Santa Fe. The latter is more luxurious than its predecessors, offering premium styling and plenty of power.

I use to have a 2000 Mustang convertible and after having my Santa Fe for almost, oh my god I love it so much. Being only 19 thats really hard to do for a sports car to lose to an SUV, but man I love the fact of going off road a little and I still can open my moon roof for the great sun. There isnt much more that I can say but everyone should have one. They get great gas mileage.

I would normally say that the Santa Fe is a great SUV for the money, but thats not true. Its a great SUV. Period. That its inexpensive is a bonus! While some may complain of its "unimpressive powertrain," what theyre complaining about is the fact that this is not a race-SUV, or an off- roader. If you want off-roading, go elsewhere; this is a family vehicle that can handle trails of the NORMAL variety. It can handle soccer games, radio controlled planes, and trips from Grandmas at Christmas. I enthusiastically recommend this vehicle!

I just purchased a 2009 Limited AWD Santa Fe, and I am so glad I did. It looks and drives like a luxury SUV. It really has all possible safety features available today, and feels secure. I would recommend any of the new Hyundai because of the huge improvements done in these recent years.

The Santa Fe excells in every category except for one in my opinion. The fuel economy is not what I was expectiong from a 4 cycl. engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. But that being said the comfort of the ride and the spacious interior matched with the affordability and reliability greatly over shadow the fuel economy.

  • Love My Santa Baby! - 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe

Bought it after trading in a Mazda Miata Convertible. . . which I dearly loved! But grandchildren have arrived and I must do the grandmotherly thing. This vehicle had the highest safety rating and had great reviews on Edmunds. So there was no great debate on which way I would go.

WOW is all I can say, researched the several other SUVs and the SantaFe has surpast my expectations in every category. Exterior has a sleek look. Interior is very well designed and looks great. Roomie, 3 row seating great with the kids, and a smooth ride. Sleek design and all the extras at an afforable price. Getting better gas mileage than expected 20 city, 24 highway. I look forward to driving this car everyday.

I have had my 2003 for over 1 year. It is performing above expectations. Wonderful to drive, good milage for an SUV (19.5) in mixed driving. 3 more of my friends have bought them. Engineer is outstanding, features usually limited to higher priced system. Look under the hood of a BMW! AWD system is excellent in Snow/Wet. BF GoodRich tires are high performers. I highly recommend this product and please note, Hyundai ranks with Honda in overall problems per 100 vehicles. 2nd only to Toyota. Imagine that!!!

  • I LOVE THIS SUV - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe

I bought this car 3 days ago. I have driven it 270 miles already. I am on a quarter of a tank. I think that is decent. I had an Elantra before this that got 320 miles to a tank. So for the size of the vehicle not too bad. The interior is so classy. Any one who didnt know the price would think you spent a fortune on this vehicle. Seats are so very comfy. And short people dont have to sit on top of the steering wheel to see where they are going or to reach the petals. Overall I LOVE THIS VEHICLE

  • 1st SUV Ive Purchased - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe

I just purchased a GLS FW 3.5 Santa Fe. I love it so far. The ride is smooth, just like a car. Goes up hills without a problem. Havent had a chance to drive it in bad weather yet. Edmunds.com was great for me. I was really able to do a lot of homework before purchasing the vehicle. Everyone who has seen it likes it. My cousins took a ride in it and they want to purchase one. My only regret is I dont know if I should have gone with the 2.7 with AWD versus the power of the 3.5 engine and FW drive. I couldnt afford both. However this one does have ABS brakes and traction control. You cant beat the warranty. Winter will be the test. Go Hyundai!

  • Surprise Vehicle - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

I looked at and drove many SUVs before I decided to drive a Santa Fe. Features that I thought were missing on other SUVs were standard on the SE such as day/night mirror, trip computer, CD/MP3 player, and a V6 engine. I originally was not looking at a Santa Fe because the previous design was not appealing to me at all. I only thought of driving the Santa Fe after test driving a Chevy Equinox at a dealership right next to a Hyundai dealership. I must say it was the best thing I could have done. The exterior redesign makes the new 2007 Santa Fes a very attractive SUV. The interior design is not cluttered and very usable. Hyundai is certainly doing well in their assault on Toyota.
