  • Get the V6... Awesome car! - 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe
    By -

So I am a recent college graduate and I wanted something that would be fun to drive. I first tested a 2.0Turbo automatic and a 3.8L V6 manual... initially the clutch was a bit rough to get use to but after two test drives I was convinced. The V6 is very powerful for the price and just everything about the car feels like your not paying enough. The base V6 still has the ipod connections and interface, blue tooth, black leather, auto headlights and climate control. Dont think that you need the upgraded sound the base sound is still great I was very impressed. Do yourself a favor and get the manual V6 feels and sounds like a muscle car.

I am the proud owner of the first Genesis Coupe in Montgomery, and can honestly say its my all-time favorite car for many reasons. I wasnt even shopping for a car for myself, but was asked to sit in the new coupe at the dealer. When I did, I was absolutely impressed by the total interior environment and had to drive it. A mile later I had to own it, and eight months later have been completely happy with its nimble handling, its impressive acceleration at any speed, and its brilliant automatic transmission that knows exactly what gear I want it to be in at all times! Great around town and on road trips! Oh, did I mention its ability to turn heads? I love it!

  • Just Outstanding - 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe

I saw this car during the Super Bowl and fell in love, then I went to drive one and I was sold. It is amazing and the power is great and the look is even better. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking at the more expensive coupes

  • "Hey! What kind of car is that?" - 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe
    By -

The Genesis Turbo Coupe is impressive. Its A Rear-wheel Drive turbo sports car, just the platform I wanted. The body of the vehicle appears as if it was shaped by the wind itself. It has an aggressive stance, and it seems to stand out from other cars on the road. It isnt uncommon for someone to ask me what kind of car it is. People have stopped lights and rolled their windows down and ask. --aside from how it looks- My genesis Turbo coupe is a 6-Speed Manual. The car runs very strong through the gears. The engine power is strong and sounds great -its satisfying behind the wheel, and luckily the Genesis Turbo Coupe can be easily modified for those who wish for a tad more boost. Shifting the Genesis is smooth and easy, however I must say, the rpms do seem to hang just barely between shifts as compared to previous 6-Speed manuals Ive driven in the past. However, this isnt a big deal - but I think its an honorable mention. The traction control button on this car is extremely important. To the left of the steering wheel there is a button "TCS" - Traction Control System. If traction control is turned off, the car will let you go in for a driving move, that of which you are in over your head. With TCS ON, the wheels use electronic control to prevent from breaking loose. This is a common button in sports cars, but for someone curious about things that are important with this car, this is. I have rules: If Im on the highway, TCS must be ON. If it is raining, TCS ON. Winter time...TCS ON! The winter in this vehicle makes for a questionable journey. A touch snowy winter, with snow covered roads, is not fun. Ive made it though the last 2 mild winters here. Lots of tire spinning. OVERALL: The Genesis Turbo Coupe looks incredible, sounds and performs terrific. When treated with care and well maintained, this car is a gemstone.

  • It looks good... - 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe

I have owned my new Genesis Coupe for just over a month now, and it turns heads! My co-workers and friends all want to know what its like to drive and are thrilled by its looks. Until last night I had only good things to say about it -- Apparently there was some road debris on the highway and some of it managed to find my right rear tire. I not only suffered a flat tire, but also a punctured rim, which makes me question the quality of the rims. Even the Service manager said he had never seen that before. So 33 days, and a $750 bill later, I hope I made the right choice by buying the Genesis Coupe...

  • Awesome, awesome, awesome! - 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe

This is an amazing little car, it is beautiful, sporty and definitely turns heads. It is the kind of car that will get you into trouble, cause it likes to go FAST! The performance is great. By far the most fun car I have ever owned. A couple of things to mention, the voice command leaves something to be desired, it only does what its told if I yell at it in my "mom voice". Be sure to check if your cell phone is on the compatible list, my phone is not compatible and when connected the phone constantly rings (phantom caller). Also have had some issues with the passenger seat clicking into place after someone sits in the back or gets out. There are only two cup holders.

  • Best Coupe Ive ever own PERIOD!!! - 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe

I test drove manual and automatic. Manual is ok - its stiff and jerky. However, it had short-shift installed which was very nice. ZF-automatic 6speed on 3.8 is Excellent!!!. I bought 3.8 Track and its fund to drive. Tough ride, but worth it. It handles curves like M3. Ill buy GenCoupe over Infinity(nissan) or Lexus(toyota) coupe. I saved money not buying Japanese this time, got more for the money and FUN to DRIVE. I love this car. When Hyundai come out with new Genesis coupe in 5-6 years from now, Im sure it will be even better.

This is a great bargain of a car. I have yet to break it in but the V6 is strong. Ive driven front wheel drive cars for more than 10 years so its nice to get back into a rear wheel drive car. The driving dynamics are so much better. I have the Grand Touring and the ride is a good compromise. It doesnt beat you up but it handles great. I cant wait till gen 2.

  • "I didnt know Hyundai built sports cars!" - 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe

"Man what kind of car is that??", ask the car wash attendant. "Oh its just a Hyundai Genesis..." I say as I start to feel all giddy on the inside for someone talking to me while wearing socks and sandals. "I didnt know Hyundai built sports cars! That is much nicer than my new V6 Camaro.." the man says with slight disappointment in his voice. The Hyundai Genesis Coupe is an understated performance sports car. Why do I say understated? With the open market of the FRS/BRZ twins, Ford Focus ST, Nissan 370z and Honda Civic Si, it is very easy to forget that Hyundai offers a competitive RWD, 300hp sports car for a cheaper price. After spending a week of searching, I was able to find a Genesis Coupe for $4,000 cheaper than a FRS and $6,000 cheaper than a Focus ST (Take a guess on the price gap between the Hyundai and the 370....Yikes!). After owning the car through both Winter and Summer I can say that this car makes a decent daily driver. I went for the top of the line "Track" package which includes 19 Wheels, a stiffer suspension, big Brembo brakes, and low profile tires which, in the winter, makes for a questionable journey. Though the weather was not in the Genesis Coupes favor, it handle the snow and ice better than most cars on the road. Traction Control is a feature that will automatically prevent you from getting in-over your head, and the climate control system will keep you warm while the temperatures fall bellow zero degrees. During the summer months the car can come into its own. If you have never taken this car out on a back-road, it is highly recommended that you scare your local Hyundai Salesman. The stiff suspension allows you to feel the cars sports car spirit as you abuse it through sharp hairpin turns, the car does not buckle at the effort, it laughs and yells "More!". Though I have found this to be an excellent car, it is not perfect. The stiff suspension will really begin to make you feel your age, even if youre 2 years old. Long road trips can be rather tiresome and make you question why you didnt walk to your Aunts house in Idaho. The interior is a nice place to be, but is filled with cheap feeling materials and more plastic then a aging supermodel. Though it has 300HP, I feel that the car under utilizes that power in the high gears and makes use of it in the lower gears. What was a major surprise was how roomy the car is (in the front seats), as a 6 foot 2 individual, I have plenty of space to bob my head to my fast and furious soundtrack. My dad (who lets say is a lot more "healthy" than I) felt that the race like seats was firm and quite comfortable to sit in. MPG has been much better than I could ever imagine, when driving home from an overnight party I had the A.C. on with the windows down (who needs logic?), I managed to get 31.3 MPG without even trying. Remember this is a 300HP, "Track Edition". Overall this is a great car for the price. This Hyundai looks greats, sounds great, and next to an RX8 or a Civic, its fast. If youre like me and you want good performance out of the box youll opt for the 3.8 motor because it is strong and capable of performance without being dangerous to a young driver. Tuners will go for the 2.0 turbo model as their is plenty of aftermarket support for the 2.0 to make it as fast, then faster than a 3.8. At the end of the day the suspension is very stiff but if youre looking at this as an option, you probably already have a yearning for back pain.

  • What a car!! - 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe

Ive had my Genesis Coupe GT for only a week now but all I can say is "Wow, what a car!" After test driving a Camaro and then laughing at the salesman when he told me of the $3,ooo minimum mark up above sticker, I tried my luck on a Pontiac G8. Nothing doing there either. So I went across the highway to the Hyundai dealership to test drive the Genesis Coupe, and boy am I glad I did! The Gen Coupe handles amazingly on all types of roads. Ive already driven it on the interstate, local roads and hilly, winding roads as well. Power is abundant, and the transmission shifts smoothly. The suspension and cornering are sports car tight and it hugs the road like it is bonded to the pavement.
