Overview & Reviews
The 2009 Hyundai Genesis is an all-new model. It's Hyundai's first rear-wheel-drive luxury car for the U.S. market.
- Smooth and powerful engines, comfortable ride, features and options galore, good value for the money.
- Lacks brand cachet, no all-wheel-drive option, rear seat does not fold down.

Best Kept Secret - 2009 Hyundai Genesis
By Best Kept Secret - January 11 - 1:20 pmThe Genesis 3.8 V6 is the Best Kept Secret in the luxury car lane ... but undoubtedly not for long! Leased my new black, premium-plus pkg Genesis about 3 weeks ago after my usual exhaustive, but comprehensive research. Every aspect of the cars looks and performance has met or exceeded my expectations; in short, this is honestly not another car on the road I would covet over my Genesis! The power train is silky smooth, tons of acceleration power on demand, smooth transmission with super-powerful, turbo- level boost in manual shift mode when entering onto highway ramp or pulling out into fast oncoming traffic. Lines of the car are the envy of every co-worker and valet whos seen it

By silverado - January 7 - 5:30 pmThis car is everything I hoped it would be and more. It is designed to maximize the aspect of pleasure behind the wheel without going overboard. It is super quiet, has a magnificent stereo, air conditioned drivers seat, good visibility, comfortable seats, etc. Mechanically the car is totally satisfactory.

11K - First Report - 2009 Hyundai Genesis
By Habu71 - October 11 - 8:26 pmThis car is simply a stunning thing to behold. It looks good, drives well and is very comfortable for my 6,2 frame. On a recent round trip from Florida to Cleveland the car averaged around 30.4 mpg at highway (some mountain driving) speeds. I deem that outstanding considering the cars size and weight. I have two complaints; 1.The suspension seems to hit the bump stops quite often on choppy roads. 2.Sometimes the rear doors wont automatically unlock. This situation happened after a software update to the car. The dealer will check it out at the next service. Other than that I am a "happy camper."

Impressed every time I drive my Genesis! - 2009 Hyundai Genesis
By Miles - October 6 - 3:44 pmThe Hyundai Genesis Sedan is a wonderful used car. In the past Ive owned big heavy V8, rear-wheel drive cars- but the Genesis is unbelievably refined. There is little to no cabin noise whatsoever, this is really noticeable on the highway. Nice quiet drive, smooth shifting transmission, and plenty of power for a luxury sedan. Its not a wolf in sheeps clothing like BMWs and Mercedes can be when optioned properly, but if youre looking for a luxury car like the Genesis, you probably dont concern yourself with such juvenile attributes. This car is a comfortable, quiet, smooth car that has been extremely reliable. My Genesis sedan now has 130,000 miles on it and it stills looks and feels like I just drove out of the showroom. If youre spending a lot of time on the road, youll want to spring for the optional Technology Package, Premium Package, and Premium Plus Package. This includes a wonderful navigation system with the same type of I-Drive out of BMW and Lexus, a seriously stellar sound system made by Lexicon- only found in Rolls Royce, and a slew of creature comforts like heated/cooled seats, perforated leather, etc.. If you dont feel the need to blend in with the wannabe BMW and Lexus drivers who finance ridiculously expensive cars that dont have half of the options, give the Genesis a try.

First Hyundai - 2009 Hyundai Genesis
By Ron L - September 20 - 7:20 pmI am a long-time dedicated American car owner. This time after dissatisfaction with the American choices available I reluctantly begun to shop foreign cars. a friend suggested taking a look at the Hyundai Genesis. My first look was at a 3.8 and although impressed was not sold. When a 4.6 hit the lot I was done! This is a surprising car with the amount of interior and trunk space, ride, and quality of engineering. If Korean automakers can do it so much better than our domestic models, it is no wonder we are having to bail out our own companies.

Genesis for a Genesis - 2009 Hyundai Genesis
By PhilB - September 20 - 6:26 amMy company name- Genesis, so my wife kept suggesting that I buy... a Genesis. For the fun of it, we did a test drive and fell in love. The dealership was sensitive to the upscale nature of the car and us being informed buyers. It has been BIG fun so far with the head turns (there are only 3-4 in Tyler TX (our home) so far. And we are adding all of the wings extras to personalize it from KAI. The trim is the premium plus with the technology package. We wanted the V8, but.. they cant keep them on the lot! I was ok with the power of the V6, but missed some of the trim that is only available on the V8. BUT, were adding most back in. LOVE it!

Very surprised... - 2009 Hyundai Genesis
By drew - September 3 - 2:40 pmNever thought I would ever buy a Hyundai but I am truly satisfied. Traded in my 540i which was breaking down for a much faster and smoother car. It doesnt handle like a BMW but still pretty nice. People tried to discourage me from getting a Genesis and now they are the ones who are thinking about it after riding my car :)

Hyundai Genesis - 2009 Hyundai Genesis
By Deborah Nitterhouse - July 3 - 7:20 pmThe Genesis with the V8 is a kick to drive. It is a very stylish car and the interior is beautiful. Those are the two reasons why I bought it. There are a few kinks that still have to be worked out with mine. After having the tires balanced it is still rough on the interstate. The brakes still screech when I back out of the garage.

Amazing - 2009 Hyundai Genesis
By R. Epstein - June 19 - 1:00 amI have just had my Genesis since Jan 17/2009. It beats the heck out of my Chrysler 300 (2005) by a mile. I looked at Nissan Maxima, Altima, Lincoln, Buick, Cadillac and they did not even come close. The car is superb.
