  • Smooth - 2011 Hyundai Genesis

Also have a 300 BMW and a C class Mercedes. Handling is more toward the BMW and the ride more toward the MB. Surprisingly good mileage in town. It is a very comfortable car for extended road trips. Easy installation of child seats (anchored hooks) when the grandkids are in town.

  • Love it! - 2011 Hyundai Genesis

I bought this car in Jan 2013 with 19k miles. I was considering a BMW 550 or A6 4.2, but my Genesis was exactly HALF the price of an equivalent German sedan (I paid $25k all included, in mint condition, with warranty until forever). And my genesis is quieter, safer and more reliable than any BMW or Audi, too. I had some qualms about the lack of a premium badge, but now I consider it a point of pride: I look at a guy in a BMW and think of the extra $25k I have in the bank...

  • Nice car , BUT... - 2011 Hyundai Genesis
    By -

Have owned 3 years now, 16,500 miles. Its a shame, as I really like the comfort, and value of this car, BUT ... I have had to have car jump started 6 times in 3 years. Hyundai claims that I dont drive the car enough to keep battery charged. I work part-time (1 day/week) and car may sit 2 - 3 days between use (average 100 mi/week). Was told that if car sits for a week (say at airport when on vacation) expect that battery will have discharged and need a jump. Dont see Mercedes, BMW or Lexus with this problem. Also, ride is a little stiff for my tastes.

  • Pretty Impressive - 2011 Hyundai Genesis

My previous cars were Audi, BMW and Infiniti. The Genesis is easily in the same class. The ride is very nice. Not so soft that it floats, but is stiff enough to handle well. Is quiet and has the features that you would want.

  • Still In Love After One Year. - 2011 Hyundai Genesis

Bought Genesis in Dec. 10 after seeing it at L.A. Auto Show - couldnt believe price for features and design. Just reached 10K. Trips from L.A. to the Bay Area are effortless - "right now" power to pass while riding in total lap of luxury - awesome! Hold speeds to 75 and I get 29 mpg vs. EPA est of 26. Was hesitant about buying a Hyundai - now have no regrets though dealerships arent at level of Lexus or Benz. Only minor complaints are somewhat jittery ride around town (even small bumps are felt) and rather short front seat cushions. Features list on V-8 is extensive - I find something new every time I read the manual. Passengers cant believe its a Hyundai and neither can I!

  • NOT WORLD CLASS - 2011 Hyundai Genesis

This is my third Hyundai and my first major disappointment. While an otherwise decent car, the Genesis has a fit and finish problem with its roof. The car shows "indentations" or "ripples" around the sun roof and around the antenna installation. My car was review by the Hyundai regional rep and reported that this issue was noted in other cars on the lot and "came that way from the factory". I appealed to Hyundai Customer Connect who reiterated that "other like vehicles displayed the same characteristics,..operating as designed, therefore, no further assistance. The model should be called the "Donald Trump Edition", it has as many "waves" as the Donalds hair do. Major dissapointment!

  • Great but - 2011 Hyundai Genesis

Some items have been overlooked in an otherwise great car. No mute button. No pedal adjustment. No outside temperature view. No power folding mirrors. Surround sound is not permanent selection. No 6 disc with navigation a few of the shortfalls

  • A great business class vehicle - 2011 Hyundai Genesis
    By -

The Genesis is overall a great car to own. Very comfortable and easy to drive. Steering is a little loose and it feels big, only because it is. For a larger person, Im about 64 190lbs, I feel very free in this car. Maintenance is expensive but the service that Hyundai provides has been great. The entertainment system is one of the best Ive ever experienced! Bluetooth is difficult for the 2011 model because its an older system which will not allow you to listen to your music. Fuel economy is pretty good for a V8 and power is exceptional.

  • Second Time Around - 2011 Hyundai Genesis
    By -

This is my second time purchasing a Genesis. First one was 2012, the current one is 2011. The 2012 was a great car but after about two years I really wanted a Cadillac CTS which was a nice car but they charge for every little amenity. Their packages seem to leave out some of the best features. But after getting rid of that vehicle and dealing with Mercedes and BMW, I feel like I get the most for my money with Genesis. And much better reliability than the other brands.
