Overview & Reviews
Hyundai decided to expand its product offerings in 2007 with the Entourage, its first-ever minivan, but the experiment was short-lived. Essentially a rebadged Kia Sedona, the Entourage was actually an impressive effort while it lasted. It had a smooth ride and strong acceleration, as well as outstanding crash-test scores and solid build quality. The Hyundai Entourage clearly had a lot to offer.
Still, Hyundai's first attempt in the minivan market bit the dust after just three years on the market, with poor sales performance being the primary culprit. As a pre-owned option, however, the Entourage is rather enticing. It's got most of the practicality and features of the big minivan names, and you'll probably be able to get a great deal on one. If it's maximum value you're after, a used example of the universally competent Hyundai Entourage won't steer you wrong.
Most Recent Hyundai Entourage
Produced from 2007 to 2009, the Hyundai Entourage minivan was mechanically related to the second-generation Kia Sedona. Power initially came from a 3.8-liter V6 rated at 242 hp and 251 lb-ft of torque, but 2008 saw an increase to 250 hp and 253 lb-ft. The three trim levels for '07 were base GLS, midrange SE and luxurious Limited; the SE was dropped for '08.
The GLS offered standard features like removable second-row captain's chairs and a 60/40-split, fold-flat third-row seat with in-floor storage. Also onboard were staples like tri-zone air-conditioning and a CD stereo (which included satellite radio and a USB jack for '09). Antilock brakes, stability control and a full complement of airbags were standard as well. The Limited offered heated power seats, leather upholstery, dual power-sliding doors, a power tailgate, automatic climate control and premium sound. A navigation system was unavailable, however.
The Entourage's interior was pleasant-looking, if a bit unremarkable. Materials quality was decent, but the cabin lacked the polish of some of the more expensive minivans. There was no shortage of legroom in all three rows, though families with teenagers may find rear headroom snug. The second-row seats were easily adjustable, allowing you to divvy up space as your needs dictate. But the third-row bench sat very close to the floor, and therefore wasn't a good fit for most adults.
In our reviews, the Hyundai Entourage scored high marks for its powerful V6 and comfortable ride. For everyday driving duties, the Entourage was one of the most pleasant entrants in this segment. In consumer reviews, the Entourage is typically praised for its versatile cabin and brisk acceleration. Given Hyundai's vastly improved reputation for reliability, we would recommend considering a used Entourage without hesitation.

Reliable Hyundai Entourage GLS - 2007 Hyundai Entourage
By Man Van 105 - June 26 - 7:49 pmMy family & I have had this vehicle for a year now w/over 15,000 miles & have traveled a lot since then. So far, we have not encountered any "major" problems that other people have stated in there reviews. I spoke w/a Hyundai mechanic & he told me that this is a heavy vehicle w/a 3.8 Liter V6 engine. So of course the gas mileage is not great. Also a vehicle is considered broken in after 35-50,000 miles & that is when you will start having better gas mileage. But, it also depends on your driving style and terrain as well. My advice, save your money & stick w/a basic van. After reading other reviews, owners of vans w/more amenities seem to have more problems than others,ie. power doors 4 example.

Hyundai 2008 Entourage Limited - 2008 Hyundai Entourage
By Southern Comfort - June 5 - 4:47 pmOverall we have found the van acceptable. Having traded a Pontiac ssei sedan for the van beacuse of medical reasons weve found many of the amenities of the sedan lacking in the van and not available as an option. However, for the task of carrying medical equipment it is acceptable. The large amount of room is pleasing. Gas mileage isnt great, especially for a 250 hp engine. The sedan got 19 mpg in town, 23 mpg on the highway and was a 3.8l, turbocharged 276 hp engine.

Quality of Interior Trim and Low Gas Mil - 2007 Hyundai Entourage
By beverly smith - May 29 - 9:29 pmThe imitation leather trim is starting to split. The van squeaks, makes strange noise when air conditioner not on, and the gas mileage is terrible. Door opens intermittently after closing. Dealer could find nothing wrong with any of these complaints. Will never again purchase new model of any car/van. Door closed on my grandsons finger. Limited driver and front passenger storage space. Third row seat cramped. It is very inconvenient to have to place car in park to open rear doors. When DVD player is open, it greatly limits drivers rear view visibility. Van drives nicely. I trusted Hyundai name but will wait in the future for them to remove all of the bugs before buying a new model.

Great Van - 2007 Hyundai Entourage
By Alman - May 21 - 11:33 pmI am a used car dealer and just replaced my wifes Dodge Caravan with this used Entourage Limited with 13,000 miles. Lets just say that she is much happier with this than with the Dodge. Its not that I had problems with the Dodge, its just the package as a whole she likes better. With all the amenities that this van has, its perfect. Its a much better value than the Toyota or Honda. Your dollar definitely goes further.

Interior Integrity? - 2007 Hyundai Entourage
By Brian - May 21 - 4:27 pmI have owned my Entourage SE for approximately one year and 14,000 miles. The squeaks, rattles, and other pronounced noises are very apparent, especially in the cooler weather. Caution! In your Warranty manual, you will find a section where as these obnoxious noises will not be covered under the bumper to bumper warranty. I feel that new owners are not waiting long enough before writing a review. I made this critical mistake. I should have spent a bit more money for the Honda Odyssey.

Very Poor Reliability - 2007 Hyundai Entourage
By Paul - May 12 - 12:59 pmDO NOT PURCHASE (2007 model) Problems to date 1) Power steering gasket blew (under 2 yrs old) 2) Reversing sensors are unreliable and do not work consistently.. Hyundai can not reproduce and therefore are not willing to replace under warranty (we have even sent a video of the problem to them). 3) Unable to start van.. power & battery OK.. had it towed to dealer... next day van started ok. 4) Brake calipers under sized for weight of van.. rotors wearing down fast and warping under heat. 5) Customer service a disgrace. If anybody else in Western canada has these problems with Hyundai please drop me a note.

Very Poor Reliability - 2007 Hyundai Entourage
By Peter - April 27 - 3:30 pmI have owned other Hyundai products and have loved them. The 2007 Entourage van has been a nightmare. It has stalled on us several times and has had various electrical problems. Trim pcs. and hardware in general are falling off and are of poor quality. Gas mileage is terrible (13 in city and just under 20 on hwy). Ouch!!! I would strongly recommend not buying the 2007 model and get the 2008 or 2009 as I would hope Hyundai has worked out all the bad bugs from the 2007 year. Avoid at all cost the 2007! Very disappointing experience to date.

Watch out if you had kids!!! - 2007 Hyundai Entourage
By Jenn - April 16 - 9:18 pmMy boyfriend bought the van over a year ago for him and his kids. He was sold on the "safety feature" that said that any obstruction would automatically open the side door. Since then we have constantly had problems with the power doors-- if you are on any type of incline, the power doors have a great chance of not closing as well as sliding forward on their own. His 9 year old son has actually had his hand crushed in the doors (that DID NOT automatically open) when he was reaching to grab his seat belt to buckle in as the door closed. Both of his children are now terrified of the closing doors and warn their friends to not touch the doors. I am almost 30 and even I get nervous about it.
