Overview & Reviews
Hyundai decided to expand its product offerings in 2007 with the Entourage, its first-ever minivan, but the experiment was short-lived. Essentially a rebadged Kia Sedona, the Entourage was actually an impressive effort while it lasted. It had a smooth ride and strong acceleration, as well as outstanding crash-test scores and solid build quality. The Hyundai Entourage clearly had a lot to offer.
Still, Hyundai's first attempt in the minivan market bit the dust after just three years on the market, with poor sales performance being the primary culprit. As a pre-owned option, however, the Entourage is rather enticing. It's got most of the practicality and features of the big minivan names, and you'll probably be able to get a great deal on one. If it's maximum value you're after, a used example of the universally competent Hyundai Entourage won't steer you wrong.
Most Recent Hyundai Entourage
Produced from 2007 to 2009, the Hyundai Entourage minivan was mechanically related to the second-generation Kia Sedona. Power initially came from a 3.8-liter V6 rated at 242 hp and 251 lb-ft of torque, but 2008 saw an increase to 250 hp and 253 lb-ft. The three trim levels for '07 were base GLS, midrange SE and luxurious Limited; the SE was dropped for '08.
The GLS offered standard features like removable second-row captain's chairs and a 60/40-split, fold-flat third-row seat with in-floor storage. Also onboard were staples like tri-zone air-conditioning and a CD stereo (which included satellite radio and a USB jack for '09). Antilock brakes, stability control and a full complement of airbags were standard as well. The Limited offered heated power seats, leather upholstery, dual power-sliding doors, a power tailgate, automatic climate control and premium sound. A navigation system was unavailable, however.
The Entourage's interior was pleasant-looking, if a bit unremarkable. Materials quality was decent, but the cabin lacked the polish of some of the more expensive minivans. There was no shortage of legroom in all three rows, though families with teenagers may find rear headroom snug. The second-row seats were easily adjustable, allowing you to divvy up space as your needs dictate. But the third-row bench sat very close to the floor, and therefore wasn't a good fit for most adults.
In our reviews, the Hyundai Entourage scored high marks for its powerful V6 and comfortable ride. For everyday driving duties, the Entourage was one of the most pleasant entrants in this segment. In consumer reviews, the Entourage is typically praised for its versatile cabin and brisk acceleration. Given Hyundai's vastly improved reputation for reliability, we would recommend considering a used Entourage without hesitation.

Really great luxury van - 2008 Hyundai Entourage
By Stacy H - October 1 - 7:38 pmI purchased my Hyundai van 2 months ago and have been very happy with the way it drives. It is very comfortable inside as well. I love the automatic side doors and the automatic back hatch door. It has a very smooth ride and great pick-up-and-go. But, the gas mileage is terrible. I expected to get at least 15mpg as advertised, but I only get at best 12.5mpg around town. Apparently that is what most owners are learning. Overall I am extremely satisfied with the Entourage. I hope Hyundai is able to improve the gas mileage in the future.

Worst mileage...EVER..any car - 2007 Hyundai Entourage
By Bob Mann - September 23 - 9:02 amCar drives and rides comfortably. Lots of conveniences and "goodies". But with gradual increasing noises. Dealing with Hyundai is impossible and mileage is bad beyond description. My truck Toyota 4 runner gets 5 miles more to the gallon of gas and Hyundai say mine (entourage) is behaving as designed.... Wow

Best Value Minivan - 2007 Hyundai Entourage
By John - September 15 - 2:56 pmIf youre buying a minivan, you can not beat the value of this Hyundai. Its at the very least neck and neck with Toyota and Honda and the price is far and away a better deal. Go for the Limited with all the bells & whistles and you wont look back. If youre nervous about a first year vehicle, get the dealer to give you free maintenance for 12 months, that should alay fears of unknown bugs in the design. Minivans are all about functionality, they were designed for one purpose: ease the travel & logistics life of a family, and Hyundai is one of the best before price is even in the equation. Hyundai has put together an excellent package; cant wait for the editors review & validation!

Entourage SE - 2007 Hyundai Entourage
By love it - August 17 - 9:03 amBuy it! I traded our Sante Fe because my father needs a little more comfort. The ride is super quiet. Acceleration is so smooth, you cant feel it. RPMs are great when driving 45-55mph. Wish the gas mileage was a little better, but with all the other pluses, Im willing to take a small hit on fuel economy. Everyone was upset with me for trading in the Santa Fe, now everyone LOVES this minivan. I got the South Pacific Blue. All the neighbors wanted a look. I will be keeping this vehicle for many years. Buy it, buy it, buy it! You wont regret it.

Good So Far - 2007 Hyundai Entourage
By jayachra - August 16 - 12:26 pmNice vehicle for a family of 5 and no troubles so far. Lots of Space. Own a GLS model which has many features available as Standard which are either Optional or available only on higher models with other Manufacturers Vans. Bought the vehicle for the just over 20 grand price & due to its higher safety ratings. We have made at least 5 long distance drives and surprisingly the mileage was 27 mpg on the Highway. City driving is around 17 mpg. We have traveled 16000 miles in the last 1 year and the van has served the purpose well. Struggles a bit going uphill. So far good experience with Dealership.

"comfort mobile" happy family hauler - 2007 Hyundai Entourage
By JE - August 16 - 8:59 amIts a minivan. Its bigger than a car and very heavy, like other minivans. For us its an appliance like a refrigerator or washing machine. Yes, the doors will close on little fingers- dont let your kids put their hands in closing doors. Let them fear any doors closing. It will squeak. Push on panels to reseat fasteners. They will be quiet. Two minor issues repaired under warranty: Cold weather caused spring loaded parking brake release to stick, replacement of cables and pedal assembly resolved issue. Idler pulley bearing failure, replacement solved issue. Van will average 29 MPG on flat ground at 60 MPH with NO stop and go. Daily drives around town average 17 MPG.

deceptive warranty - 2007 Hyundai Entourage
By hzinor - July 31 - 12:35 pmUntil about 6 months ago, I would have said that I was very happy with my van. Now the slider doors are not closing properly (seems to be a common complaint), yet the service dept at our local dealership cannot find anything wrong. The biggest issue is the water leaking from the sunroof, dripping from the control panel(dome lights/door openers, etc. Also, water leaking from the dash when it rains, collecting water on the floor of the passenger side. There are tons of wires down there, so I cant imagine what kind of fun I have to look forward to. I am told that the warranty does not cover "leaks", I find it outrageous that Hyundai thinks that this is normal wear & tear.

Awesome minivan for the price! - 2008 Hyundai Entourage
By Matt - July 25 - 10:42 pmWe purchased our 2008 Entourage a few weeks ago and love it! The ride is smooth and the space inside is roomy.Hyundai seems like there heading in the right direction, the only downside is the fuel mileage. But were very happy and would definitely recommend it before 34k Honda Odyssey!

So Far, So Good - 2007 Hyundai Entourage
By Proud Minivan Driver - July 21 - 12:29 pmI have had the van for just about 10 months now. So far, its been very reliable, and was surprisingly very fuel efficient on a recent vacation trip (24 mpg on highway!) I have only had a few minor issues with automatic doors not closing properly every time and a passenger seat belt that likes to lock up. I would recommend this van to anyone with a couple of kids who needs more space than cars are able to give.
