Model Overview:

Hyundai decided to expand its product offerings in 2007 with the Entourage, its first-ever minivan, but the experiment was short-lived. Essentially a rebadged Kia Sedona, the Entourage was actually an impressive effort while it lasted. It had a smooth ride and strong acceleration, as well as outstanding crash-test scores and solid build quality. The Hyundai Entourage clearly had a lot to offer.

Still, Hyundai's first attempt in the minivan market bit the dust after just three years on the market, with poor sales performance being the primary culprit. As a pre-owned option, however, the Entourage is rather enticing. It's got most of the practicality and features of the big minivan names, and you'll probably be able to get a great deal on one. If it's maximum value you're after, a used example of the universally competent Hyundai Entourage won't steer you wrong.

Most Recent Hyundai Entourage

Produced from 2007 to 2009, the Hyundai Entourage minivan was mechanically related to the second-generation Kia Sedona. Power initially came from a 3.8-liter V6 rated at 242 hp and 251 lb-ft of torque, but 2008 saw an increase to 250 hp and 253 lb-ft. The three trim levels for '07 were base GLS, midrange SE and luxurious Limited; the SE was dropped for '08.

The GLS offered standard features like removable second-row captain's chairs and a 60/40-split, fold-flat third-row seat with in-floor storage. Also onboard were staples like tri-zone air-conditioning and a CD stereo (which included satellite radio and a USB jack for '09). Antilock brakes, stability control and a full complement of airbags were standard as well. The Limited offered heated power seats, leather upholstery, dual power-sliding doors, a power tailgate, automatic climate control and premium sound. A navigation system was unavailable, however.

The Entourage's interior was pleasant-looking, if a bit unremarkable. Materials quality was decent, but the cabin lacked the polish of some of the more expensive minivans. There was no shortage of legroom in all three rows, though families with teenagers may find rear headroom snug. The second-row seats were easily adjustable, allowing you to divvy up space as your needs dictate. But the third-row bench sat very close to the floor, and therefore wasn't a good fit for most adults.

In our reviews, the Hyundai Entourage scored high marks for its powerful V6 and comfortable ride. For everyday driving duties, the Entourage was one of the most pleasant entrants in this segment. In consumer reviews, the Entourage is typically praised for its versatile cabin and brisk acceleration. Given Hyundai's vastly improved reputation for reliability, we would recommend considering a used Entourage without hesitation.

I would like to get better gas mileage so far I have not taken it on a long trip to tell what kind of mileage I will get. Im am very pleased so far, It had a 2500 rebate on it when I purchased it, great car for the money.

Weve had our Entourage for 30 days now & absolutely love it! We took it on a 1,000 mile trip a week after we purchased it & we had a wonderful trip! There were 4 adults & 2 children & we had loads of room & the ride was as smooth as it could be. This was our first minivan & we werent sure if we would like it or not. Weve always had Fords in the past but had several bad experiences with our Explorers. I would definitely recommend this van to anyone that may be on the fence especially if you cant decide between the Hyundai, Toyota, & Honda. This van is a much better buy than the other two & cheaper too! The Toyota van would have been about $10,000 more w/the same options!

  • Beware of mileage - 2007 Hyundai Entourage

Purchased Entourage GLS after having had two Voyagers. The Hyundai is superior. Standard ESC, all the airbags, ABS, warranty are great. Have a 1999 Sonata that lead me to look at the Entourage. The major problem is the HORRIBLE mileage. Currently have 5000 miles after 7 months and cannot get over 12mpg in city/suburban driving. City/hwy is only 15mpg. This is the worst mileage I have ever gotten with any car that I have owned.

Just an update after owning the Entourage SE for 6 months now. The only problem that we are having is that the check engine light comes on periodicaly. The owners manual says to check the tightness of the gas cap. So when it comes on, usually at about a half tank, I get out and unscrew the cap and retighten. Then by the next morning, the lights off. Some day Ill get my butt in gear and get it to the dealer. But other than that, the van has been nothing but fantastic. The kids love the DVD and the fact that the windows on the sliding doors go up and down. The wife loves the heated seats now that winter is coming and I love the horse power and smooth ride and the back up warning sensor.

  • Honda Vs Hyndai - 2007 Hyundai Entourage

After much inner debate and multiple test drives of both vehicles I choose the Hyundai Entourage Limited over the Honda Odyssey EX. The bottom line reasons are because the Entourage was $5,000 cheaper and had more equipment and a better warranty. Which is the better minivan? I would say that the Honda has a more refined engine, drive train than the Hyundai. I just could not get over the price difference. I received $2500 back plus an additional $1500 off because the dealer had the car since last August. My report card grads are the follwing: Honda gets an A while the Hyndai gets an B+. When you factor in price the Hyndai moves up to an A minus and the Honda still gets an A

I was trading in my 2000 Chevy Venture and didnt want another minivan. After driving several other types of vehicles, I saw the Entourage and asked to drive it. After leaving the parking lot, I was like "Wow" this is smooth, very nice seating, quiet acceleration, and the interior is nice. I bought it at the advertised price, which is rare.

I am a Hyundai owner (2001 XG 300L) which has been bulletproof. I wanted to keep an open mind and test drove 12 other minivans. I prepared an excel spreadsheet and shortlisted odyssey and sienna before selecting entourage. I just cannot stop using superlatives!! My wife actually had tears in her eyes when she took it for a ride, she just loved it. Great engine, great ride, luxurious feel and best of all the engine bay looks like that of an expensive german sedan!! My friend saw it and went to the dealership this morning, and he is trading his 2005 Odyssey!! What else can I possibly say?

  • We love our van - 2007 Hyundai Entourage

We purchased the limited version. I think that it was well worth the extra money to have leather and power everything. The heated seats are a bonus as well as it is cold in Wisconsin. We also got the moon roof and a tow hitch added on all for just under 26K. I look at the Hondas and also the Toyota but just couldnt justify paying the extra dollars.

  • My favorite mini-van - 2007 Hyundai Entourage
    By -

I have owned 5 different makes of mini-vans and the Entourage is the best so far. Well appointed, solid feel, good handling, ample power, super brakes, quiet, smooth riding vehicle. I am 64" tall and there is ample room for me. This is a well put together van.

  • Great Van, Great Value!! - 2007 Hyundai Entourage
    By -

Have had the van since June of 2006. Love every aspect except fuel mileage. The ride and the feel of the van is terrific. My wife does not want to drive anything else. Took this van on a 1200 mile trip and never had any problems or complaints about comfort. Entertainment system is awesome with the 8 speaker system and Infinity sound.
