Model Overview:

Hyundai decided to expand its product offerings in 2007 with the Entourage, its first-ever minivan, but the experiment was short-lived. Essentially a rebadged Kia Sedona, the Entourage was actually an impressive effort while it lasted. It had a smooth ride and strong acceleration, as well as outstanding crash-test scores and solid build quality. The Hyundai Entourage clearly had a lot to offer.

Still, Hyundai's first attempt in the minivan market bit the dust after just three years on the market, with poor sales performance being the primary culprit. As a pre-owned option, however, the Entourage is rather enticing. It's got most of the practicality and features of the big minivan names, and you'll probably be able to get a great deal on one. If it's maximum value you're after, a used example of the universally competent Hyundai Entourage won't steer you wrong.

Most Recent Hyundai Entourage

Produced from 2007 to 2009, the Hyundai Entourage minivan was mechanically related to the second-generation Kia Sedona. Power initially came from a 3.8-liter V6 rated at 242 hp and 251 lb-ft of torque, but 2008 saw an increase to 250 hp and 253 lb-ft. The three trim levels for '07 were base GLS, midrange SE and luxurious Limited; the SE was dropped for '08.

The GLS offered standard features like removable second-row captain's chairs and a 60/40-split, fold-flat third-row seat with in-floor storage. Also onboard were staples like tri-zone air-conditioning and a CD stereo (which included satellite radio and a USB jack for '09). Antilock brakes, stability control and a full complement of airbags were standard as well. The Limited offered heated power seats, leather upholstery, dual power-sliding doors, a power tailgate, automatic climate control and premium sound. A navigation system was unavailable, however.

The Entourage's interior was pleasant-looking, if a bit unremarkable. Materials quality was decent, but the cabin lacked the polish of some of the more expensive minivans. There was no shortage of legroom in all three rows, though families with teenagers may find rear headroom snug. The second-row seats were easily adjustable, allowing you to divvy up space as your needs dictate. But the third-row bench sat very close to the floor, and therefore wasn't a good fit for most adults.

In our reviews, the Hyundai Entourage scored high marks for its powerful V6 and comfortable ride. For everyday driving duties, the Entourage was one of the most pleasant entrants in this segment. In consumer reviews, the Entourage is typically praised for its versatile cabin and brisk acceleration. Given Hyundai's vastly improved reputation for reliability, we would recommend considering a used Entourage without hesitation.

  • Look out "Big Boys" - 2007 Hyundai Entourage
    By -

Just purchased a Hyundai Entourage last month. Canadian model was the GLS which is the USA - SE equivalent. I am very pleased with the performance and style of this vehicle. I have owed various vans since 1975 and rate this one at the top of my list. The safety features...i.e - ASC, multiple air bags, traction control and back up warning sensors are must options. I have been getting decent mileage (25 mpg ) on the hwys which I feel is good considering the power and size of this van. Hyundai has come a long way with the quality of there vehicles since inception and now can compete favourably with the "Big Boys" (Honda, Toyota, Nissan and Chrysler )

  • Replaced my Ford Windstar - 2007 Hyundai Entourage
    By -

Bought an Entourage to replace a 1999 Ford Windstar that died on us with only 99,000 miles. Entourage gets about the same gas mileage as our old Ford, but has tons more features for the money, smoother and quieter ride, handles much better too. Broke in the first 1200 miles on winding mountain roads and enjoyed every minute. Was looking at Toyotas but liked the warranty and the lower purchase price. Absolutely no problems to report.

  • Traded Odyssey for Entourage - 2007 Hyundai Entourage
    By -

After suffering sticker shock at my Honda dealer when I found out it would cost over 40 grand for a new 07 Odyssey with the features I wanted, I shopped around and fell in love with Hyundais Entourage Limited. It has more "bells and whistles" practical features than the Odyssey, but after rebate ended up costing $29,300 including the $4000 Luxury Package. The engine and transmission are unbelievably smooth as is the ride, and after 2 months and almost 4000 miles the vans been flawless. Im averaging about 20 MPG for blended driving, which for a 4400 pound 7 passenger vehicle with a 250 HP V-6 engine isnt unreasonable. This van is gonna give Honda and Toyota a lot of competition!

  • Hyundai right up there with Oddessey!! - 2007 Hyundai Entourage
    By -

I am a previous Honda Oddessey owner for 4 years and really liked my van, however when it came time to trade in I just had to look at the new Hyundai Entourage, after driving it I was really amazed the fit & finish was excellent on power to the honda the refinement of the 3.8-250HP motor with 5 speed tran was smooth and powerful more so than my oddessey, the oddessey still get #1 for handeling but lets get releastic this is a mini-van Not a sports car, ride is far seperior to my oddessey for reliability I think that Hyundais 10/100,000 WILL KEEP ME AT EASE. I have put 7000 miles on this Entourage and I truly love it, if you are thinking about a mini-van giv Hyundai Entourage a Close look!

  • One Fine Vehicle - 2007 Hyundai Entourage
    By -

We bought the Limited (Ultimate Pkg) and it is worth every penny. Last Veh was Chrysler T&C. Had a few problems. Gas millage has been according to the speed you drive. @65 mph, I get 25-26 mph on the Hwy. My grandchildren are loving the DVD player and Surround Sound. Love the middle electric window. So many considerate touches. A dream to drive. Super comfortable. After test driving all the other vans, I fell in love with the Entourage. Even the name is sexy! I have over 30,000 miles and the engine is perring so quite.

  • Love This Car!! - 2007 Hyundai Entourage
    By -

I was looking at the Odyssey and the Toyota Sienna, but stopped by to see the Dodge Caravan for the heck of it and there was this beautiful Minivan in the Showroom that had just come out. I loved the look and we took it for a ride. It is sooo much fun to drive!! I came back three times after driving a Honda Pilot and everything that had a third row seat. We got the cloth seats because they were heated, but I now regret not getting leather because its easier to clean. Gas mileage is awful, but I dont care, but someone who has to watch their pennies would have a problem with this. Also, I would like to see more interior storage.

  • A loyal Japanese car owner !!! - 2007 Hyundai Entourage

Our first Korean car, and could not complaint with anything...test drove Quest SE, Odyssey, Siena, Town & Country etc.... and we took home a beautiful Entourage Limited with Ultimate pkg ... could not believe the workmanship - performance of this Van, the 60k bumper to bumper, 100k power train warranty is assuring ! I honest it drive better than the Quest and Siena and about the same with Odyssey (Im driving an infiniti G35) ...LOVE IT... Go Hyundai!

  • Couldnt have done better... - 2007 Hyundai Entourage
    By -

Test drove the Honda,Toyota,Hyundai, and was not interested in the Chrysler. Ruled out the Sienna immediately. I was leaning towards the Honda before test driving the Hyundai. I was amazed at the build quality and the ride quality compared to the Honda. I have owned the Entourage for two months. Have already driven from Georgia to Chicago. What a treat driving the Entourage. Dont be fooled by Hyundais past. They are in it to compete as a top of the line competitor. The Entourage is an excellent buy!

  • Incredible driving experience - 2007 Hyundai Entourage
    By -

Smooth ride, power to spare, comfortable to drive and ride, and great features. All that for a couple thousand less than the market leaders. Buy one this year or the next - I expect Hyundai will get popular and raise their prices accordingly. Gets reasonable gas mileage if you lay off the gas pedal. Only tip - check the tire pressure after you get your vehicle, one of mine was low. RG

  • Great Minivan -- Great Buy! - 2007 Hyundai Entourage
    By -

Overall, I think the reviews are spot on. Ive put about 500 miles on our new Hyundai Entourage SE. With the power sliding doors and other standard features. I dont think its most beautiful vehicle Ive ever seen, but for a mini van, it gets the job done -- nicely! I got a great price for the van and coupled with my $2500 rebate, I got the car for $3000 under invoice not including tax and license.
