Overview & Reviews
For 2003, the base single overhead cam 1.5-liter engine is dropped from the L hatchback; all Accents now come with the dual-overhead cam 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder. The 1.6 is rated at 104 horsepower -- a drop of only one horsepower following Hyundai's September 2002 announcement that it had misstated engine outputs across the board. Note that the engine itself is unchanged. In other news, all Accents get a facelift this year. In front, you'll see a new bumper, grille, hood and headlight assemblies, and in the back, the bumper, rear quarter panels and taillight units are new.
- Excellent warranty, low price, nicely appointed interior, solid build quality, smooth ride.

Forget the Mini Cooper - 2003 Hyundai Accent
By tsky - October 11 - 2:00 amI bought this car after looking at all the other models in its class and hands down the Accent GT was the best buy! I have in quartz green and people comment on the cool color everywhere I go. Not to mention the cool white tack like those in the Porche 911 the great warrenty.....I mean all cars lose their appeal after a while, why not have one that looks cool and leaves you money to go have fun...great, great car.

My 2001 Accent GL 4 door - 2003 Hyundai Accent
By Jess Wretched - September 29 - 2:00 amThis is an excellent car for a first car. It has great gas mileage, has never given me any problems, and I can take some friends along for the ride. =) Although, i wish it would be a bit stronger with the A/C on. Other than that, Ive had no prblems or dislikes with it. An inexpensive, useful car with an outstanding warranty.

Great Car - 2003 Hyundai Accent
By Rose43 - September 28 - 2:00 amI bought my Accent in Feb of 2003, it snowed so much this car got me through it and handled the weather better than I though it would. The engine is a little loud but its ok the rest of the car makes up for it.

2nd rate car? - 2003 Hyundai Accent
By zoomzoomgirl - September 20 - 2:00 amThis car is an excellent 1st car. It has a great warranty, and excellent safety features. However, this car isnt worthy if you plan on buying it, then trading it in after a few years.

A Good Metro Vehicle - 2003 Hyundai Accent
By GrandPoohPa - September 4 - 2:00 amThe 2003 Accent is a great buy. It appears to get above 250 per fill up. It has a 1.6 liter engine, so it wont win you any races. The back seat is small and perfect for kids. The trunk is big and has drop down back seats to allow more room. The electric package option allows the driver control over all the windows and locks. Estimated maintenance cost (based on manufacturers schedule of 3750 miles or 3 months) to be about $20 per fill up. (My plan is to throw $20 into a savings account every fill up.) The tires are the smallest made, so that should cut down on replacement cost too.
