Overview & Reviews
For 2003, the base single overhead cam 1.5-liter engine is dropped from the L hatchback; all Accents now come with the dual-overhead cam 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder. The 1.6 is rated at 104 horsepower -- a drop of only one horsepower following Hyundai's September 2002 announcement that it had misstated engine outputs across the board. Note that the engine itself is unchanged. In other news, all Accents get a facelift this year. In front, you'll see a new bumper, grille, hood and headlight assemblies, and in the back, the bumper, rear quarter panels and taillight units are new.
- Excellent warranty, low price, nicely appointed interior, solid build quality, smooth ride.

not great - 2003 Hyundai Accent
By jsand - May 15 - 2:00 amthis is definetly a you get what you pay for kind of car. I have found poor craftsmanship, and it costs more than its major competitors. i would recommend a toyota echo or suzuki forenza anyday to someone in the market for a cheap economy car that isnt that economical.

By jerseywoman - January 12 - 2:00 amAt 3000 miles had parts for clutch replacedagain 5000 miles- DiFeo just did a little adjusment to shift -it performed the way it was made to ignored my complaint about back brake sound. Before 7500 service, shift has been grinding, brake squeeling. They ordered partsmy ONLY means of transportation and needed it to get to 2 jobs(bought new car so I would not be in repair shop!!). I was told they would provide a car. Took car in early Friday morning, was told person who was to give me car was not in: they would look at it(I had just spent 4 hours on a Sat..I would like to enact the lemon law if I can!!
