  • A Head Turner - 2006 Hummer H3

Great driving experiance for under $40K. Commanding view of the road, much more than our TBlazer XL. Got it loaded up with Lux Package, Chrome Package, Head Rest DVD System, etc, all for far below "what others are paying" on this site. Make no mistake, it rides like a truck. But it is classy, turning radius is exceptional and I cant wait to take it through a snowstorm. Very rigid truck - you just feel in command when driving it. Get the step rails - youll never get in or out without them. Unlike the H2, it doesnt scream "look at me Im special". It is not a rocket, but unless you will be towing a 5th Wheel (dont), the Inline 5 Cyl is more than enough - dont listen to the complaints.

  • Not for racing - 2006 Hummer H3

We purchased our H3 after a lot of homework. We were apprehensive concerning all the complaints about the H3 being underpowered. We have owned V-8 powered vehicles mostly and were afraid to give up that power availability. We realized that though the H3 has only an I-5 cyl., it is geared low. The H3 does just fine with the equiped engine, as long as your intentions are not to race the vehicle. We are very happy with the performance and gas mileage. Its just fun to drive. We dont miss our V-8.

  • H3 - Looks and Drives great - 2006 Hummer H3

I have had my H3 for about a year, and I have only one thing. The radio buttons are wearing off. For me personally, the gas is not bad and it uses just about the same my old Ford Taurus did. The interior of the H3 with all the upgrades it can hold is great. I have found a great way to keep the children happy and quiet with the dual DVD system. I love this car and so does my husband. We both get compliments on it.

I absolutely love my screaming red H3. Almost everything about it is wonderful. The only complaint I will voice is with regard to the stereo. Within weeks of purchasing my H3 the coating on the stereo/radio buttons started to wear off. I had to have my radio replaced - I was told they used "soft touch" paint in the design and it was wearing off for all owners. If it continues to happen I will have to have my stereo replaced yet again. Other than that...no complaints. The most wonderful car I ever owned - and I went from my beloved 20 year old BMW 528e that I drove off the lot brand new in 1986 to my H3 and I love it!!!

  • H3 A Solid Choice (but)... - 2006 Hummer H3

I have owned my H3 for a year now and racked up 14,000 miles so I think I can say it is an exceptional vehicle. I see ratings dragged down everywhere by test-drivers and tree huggers but when you are considering a new suv guesses and fairy tales should not be good enough. In a word it is a solid 8 for anyone other than a moterhead speed freak and a 10 for on / off road mixers... Sadly - it is and will always be both a GM and a low end model under the hood so until the design a specific v6 for it - you will be risking your money (as with any GM)... The only real problem is the weight and some pushing on neg. camber turns...

  • Different than the others - 2006 Hummer H3

My husband has a black H3 that he has totally chromed out..He has this H3 looking like it came out of a SEMA catalog. Its gorgeous and mean. I really enjoy driving and riding in the truck. Very comfortable, the front leather seats feel like recliners. Turning radius is fantastic. OnStar is wonderful!! We have had the H3 for about 9 months now and all we do is drive it. We have 24k miles on it and purchased it with 11k already on it. Have had 0 problems. We have taken it on an offroad Hummer weekend and Ive never seen a SUV do the things this one did. The H2s could not compete with its onroad capabilities. The only disadvantage is the fuel consumption, 15mpg,but takes reg. unleaded!

  • Re-Think it! - 2006 Hummer H3

After owning this vehicle for a year, I am ready to trade it. Loved the looks, but it is over-rated. It really lacks power and acceleration speed. Good for gas, but not for passing. Foot pedals are much too close. Fiance has a size 13-14 shoe and refuses to drive it. Power window controls are too far back and it has MANY MANY blind spots. You can hide a Civic behind you and not see it in rear-view or side mirrors. (No joke) I am 511 athletic female and vehicle still feels a bit tight for us with the leg room we need. Car seats do not fit well in the back seat without MUCHO effort. Great with obstacles and offroading, but lack of power just makes it a downer. Really just for "looks."

  • I got more power! - 2006 Hummer H3

The H3 handles good and has a much better than expected turning radus. Here in Colorado I get to drive most suvs and I liked the H3 best for comfort with four on board and ease of handling in town or off road. However the H3 is a little under powered with a five piston, 3.5L engine when you drive at higher altitudes (I live at 7,100 feet above sea level). To get more power when I go into the mountains or on the Interstate I put in a Vortec supercharger and intercooler. Remember that this suv is 4,800 lbs. so its not a light weight but with another 100 plus horse power it has some get up and go. I have lost some mpgs but if I drive with a little care its not more than 10 to 15%.

  • Its a four wheel drive off road vehicle - 2006 Hummer H3

But its well suited for the street. It will get 23 mpg on the hiway if you drive 57 mph but it go down to 19 if you go 66. Its not a hot rod but its not supposed to be one either. It really is great off road and I have had 3 Broncos. The ride is great also considering its off road gift. First GM truck so we will have to see how it holds up. No lease I own it.

  • only the H1 and H2 are better - 2006 Hummer H3
