The 2006 Hummer H3 is an all-new midsize SUV built on the Colorado pickup platform.

Pros:

Cons:
  • Underpowered five-cylinder engine, low tow rating, lousy visibility for shorter drivers, below-average cargo space.

the hummer h3 is by far the best 4x4, every one looks at my yellow one as it goes down the street and people think it is much more expensive than it looks. 10/10 amazing

  • Dont judge it by the cover - 2006 Hummer H3

For an SUV with the rigged off road terrain look, it sure drives really nice. The turning radius is amazing. The Monsoon stereo is a definite must. The oversized sunroof lets plenty of sky light in on a warm sunny day. Considering the size of the tires, there is really not a lot of tire humming. When gripping the steering wheel, it gives you a sense of power and confort all at the same time. The two downfall areas I see is that the window lock controls are too far back for the driver to access it. The space between the door and the power seat controls are very tight. You have to reach in front of the seat, then slide your wrist between the seat and the door panel. Overall, I love my H3.

  • 18 Months and Love our H3 - 2006 Hummer H3

Our H3 purchased online after disliking local dealership. Has adventure package and other options. 18 months and 20,000 miles later we are loving it and plan to keep many more years. Did a lot of comparing-old truck 4x4 was 19 years old and we could choose anything. It is what the literature says. Small engine/power only concern for those that need quick pickup-we do not. Wish GM would get on the stick with a bit of a mudflap for the front tires as we got the rockguard and the only flaps available do not fit, they will if you have the stepup but the rockguard is different fit. All in getting what you want and we compared everything out there.

  • Fun to Drive - 2006 Hummer H3

I bought my H3 6 months ago and I love it. It drives great in the city, is a breeze to park even in the smallest of spots. And after youre done in the city, I can proudly say that it handles a day offroading like its older brother. Plus being a young guy my truck gets a lot of looks driving down the road. Awesome SUV all around.

  • Hummer-Time: others "Cant Touch This" - 2006 Hummer H3

Been looking at Land Rover and Toyota Landcruiser for long time, but didnt like the prices (and rep. of LR Reliability). Once I looked & did H3 test-drive, I was hooked. Purchased the next week with Leather, sunroof, and Adventure Package (all a must). The good-ol-boys in Shreveport, LA have crafted a "ride" that would please anyone from executives to high-tech Rednecks. If you dont like to get looks, or if you like to "burn rubber", buy another vehicle. The power is ideal for on or off-road, but not if you will tow things larger than a 20ft ski or fishing boat in the mountains. Ive been a Ford guy for years, but hats-off to GM on this H3.

  • Love this truck - 2006 Hummer H3

Driving this truck is so much fun, its a show stopper. Everyone stares and looks at the vehicle. Land Rover owners are jealous and try not to look. Could use more storage spaces inside, need to relocate the electric seat buttons to somewhere else other than the bottom of side seats, hard to reach with the arm rest in the way.

  • Lived up to expectations - 2006 Hummer H3

Ive read about this vehicle being sluggish but I have to disagree. It has plenty of power for the hills I travel and I live in West Virginia. The H3 is smooth, has a great turning radius, gets 20 mpg and turns heads in town. Handles very well. I love it, as does my wife.

  • Awsome Vehicle - 2006 Hummer H3

We did not intend to buy a Hummer, but the test drive surpassed any other vehicle priced the same or higher. Fuel economy on this car is much better than many other trucks we looked at. The biggest obstacle we ran into is other peoples ignorance of this fine auto. Within the first 24 hours of purchase we were chastized twice by stangers for having a gas hog (not true), people assume we paid much more than the car retails for (I agree it looks like it should), and a cruiser called in our plate. This car will attract a lot of attention and not all of it positive, which is unfortunate because these issues are not valid. Without reservation I highly recommend this vehicle in all respects.

  • I Like - 2006 Hummer H3

Had to convince my wife to buy it but now she is a convert. I love the looks both exterior and interior and the quality of the build. The turning radius is impressive for the Hummer-- Tighter than some cars. Power could be better but, if you are not towing something it is adequate. Gas mileage is decent for an SUV its size. Only 2 negatives in my book---More space between the seat and door for making adjustments to the seat and having an option for driver seat position memory. 24,000 miles later, I am very happy that I own an H3.

  • off roading - 2006 Hummer H3

Since buying my H3, I have only had it off road once. It was great trip, I put it through 2 feet of mud, up and down steep hills, through a river (18 inches deep) and over some rocky trails with no problems.
