Overview & Reviews
The 2006 Hummer H3 is an all-new midsize SUV built on the Colorado pickup platform.
- Rugged enough to take on the tough off-road trails, smooth highway ride, stable handling, quality interior with simple controls, comfortable seats.
- Underpowered five-cylinder engine, low tow rating, lousy visibility for shorter drivers, below-average cargo space.

Average Truck - 2006 Hummer H3
By Chaser7 - October 16 - 7:06 pmCar is just average, many improvements needed although I am die hard GM, this truck could have been much better, also needs better leg room, had a white color and small rust spots all over i noticed after first time washing, the back wheel wells spray water into the back seat through the small crack in between the door and body

Cool But Beware! - 2006 Hummer H3
By rayenet - September 30 - 4:53 pmI just got my new H3 and absolutely love its looks and price, but Ive got an issue with the suspension. When I drive on the highway and go over larger bumps and uneven surfaces, the steering wheel jerks abruptly and the vehicle swerves and wobbles. Its worse when it happens while Im changing lanes or in the middle of a turn. It feels as if Im going to lose control and the vehicle is going to flip over. Im really concerned about how it will handle on twisty snow covered mountain roads, even with the Stabilitrak.

Awesome off-road capabilty - 2006 Hummer H3
By Kevin - September 18 - 7:10 amOff road capabilities rivalled only by the H1 and some high end Rovers (maybe). Head turner. Acceleration wasnt as bad as expected for a Hummer, yet torque/towing capability needs to be enhanced (225/4500lb rating). Need to have optional seating for six or maybe even 7. Gas mileage is better than our Explorer.

Review from a real hummer h3 owner... - 2006 Hummer H3
By ProspectKyHummerH3 - August 25 - 4:33 pmJust a note that many of these negative H3 reviews should be disregarded, as most of them are NOT really H3 owners...just HUMMER haters. I have owned my Boulder Grey H3 for a month and a half and have enjoyed EVERY minute of it. I have not had ONE single problem with it either. Those that complain of the engines power...did you test drive it or read any of the reviews? I will give up a little power for improved gas mileage...especially now. I have the lux pkg., and it rides incredibly smooth. I dont know of any "actual" owner who has said that it is a rough ride. Everyone that has ridden in mine has been impressed with the handling and the finishing on the interior and exterior.

Too much fun - 2006 Hummer H3
By Navjit Singh Brar - July 31 - 9:30 pmHave had it for about a month now. Dont know how I did without such a beautiful vehicle. I replaced my Jeep Wrangler and have not regretted one bit. Gas milage is good enough. The music system is just awesome, particulary if you are a Bhangra Jat. The truck is soooooo quite while driving, even on freeway runs. Went with the gut feeling and bought it. Passed up on an X3 whose test drive did not impress, if you take price into consideration. And, boy, what a head turner. Serious, I have driven about 25 odd people in it, sometimes in bunches. Good burnishing for your image! JATZDOIT

Truly Exceptional - 2006 Hummer H3
By CPJNO1 - June 21 - 1:58 pmI have had my H3 now for just over a year and I absolutely love it. It is an extremely comfortable ride and, undoubtedly, the best looking SUV out there. I average about 18 MPG combined so the fuel economy is on par with most vehicles in its class. Driving it here in Buffalo during the winter is a blast, as it taking it off road north of the border. Even in extreme conditions, it has passed in flying colors. I drove back from Lake Placid in February during a blizzard with my wife and 2 young daughters. We received more than 2 feet of snow and the H3 was tremendous. I highly recommend this vehicle as it strikes the perfect balance between style, fuel economy, and function.

Gm swings and misses - 2006 Hummer H3
By Car lover - June 12 - 8:06 amOwned the the car for 3/4 of a month. She looks good and rides as comfortable as my gramps caddy. But the onstar never worked!!!! She is a slow as a snail!! I understand the idea was mileage, but 0-60 is only .2 seconds faster than my 1995 ford explorer. Also the cargo room is horrible! When your in colledge 55ft aint cuttin it! Further more my salite radio broke recently, Yet GM is still makin me pay for it. It seems to me that until GM can get its costs down and build things right you should look but dont buy!!!!!!! Until these GM reliabilty/build quality issue have proven themselves fixed I am questioning the thought of buying that corvette I was thinking about.

Room for improvement - 2006 Hummer H3
By p - June 4 - 10:53 pmAlthough exciting behind the wheel, great looks and comfort, the biggest disappointment is engine performance. The power lags tremendously and is far less responsive than what would be expected from any HUMMER. This shortfall is impractical for on-road driving conditions (e.g. city traffic) and therefore lessons the H3s appeal.

What a joke? - 2006 Hummer H3
By spdrmanus - May 23 - 6:45 pmI bought this so called Hummer and within 3 months sold it. It is totally lacking enough power for the weight ratio. Had it stuck on numerous occasions all because it did not have the power necessary to pull out. Traded it in on the H2, spend the few extra dollars and get the real thing not the wannabe.

Great Truck - 2006 Hummer H3
By humr87 - May 13 - 10:40 pmVery satisfied with the H3. It can handle anything ranging from pot-holes to hard core off-roading. It puts Jeeps in their places and has no problems keeping up with the H1 or H2 in most situations. In some situations they have problems keeping up with the H3. Very well built, and very reliable. Turns a lot of heads!
