This Year's Model Updates:

Most significant for the Honda minivan this year is the option to get the Touring trim with the rear-seat entertainment system and not the navigation system. Previously, the two features were always packaged together. Other changes this year include additional child-seat tether anchors for the third row and standard satellite radio for the Touring model. Finally, stated power output for the Odyssey's V6 engine has dropped slightly due to Honda's adoption of a new SAE horsepower-rating procedure.

Pros:
  • Split flat-folding rear bench
  • Agile, carlike handling
  • Optional eight-passenger seating
  • Strong reliability record.
  • Extensive feature list
  • Smooth and powerful V6

  • Best Minivan in the Market - 2006 Honda Odyssey

This is the best minivan you can buy. Minivans used to be all about practical and boring. Get an Odyssey with leather and youll feel like youre driving an Acura MDX rather than a hulking people mover.

  • I love my Odyssey! - 2006 Honda Odyssey

I drove my new Odyssey from Florida to Seattle & back & many miles since & LOVE it. It drives like a really nice car. My Dodge Caravan drove more like a truck & without as many nice features. I love all of the controls on the steering wheel. Cruise control is great. We had one problem when it was brand new with a leak in the glazing around the windshield, but otherwise it has been fabulous -- 35,000 miles later. Adult back seat passengers have commented on how roomy it is & how nice the ride feels.

Traded in Olds silhouette for this beautiful 2006 odyssey. Have owned honda cars before with pride & satisfaction. Have to say I am disappointed with the gas mileage so far. getting 15-17 mpg city, whereas my olds got 20-22mpg. I though odyssey would be better with the eco. cylinder thing. NOT

We just bought a 2006 Honday Odyssey EX and had problems with the stabilization light, ASB and brake lights coming on. It was in the shop within minutes of driving it and had to be taken back twice within 24 hours for the same problems. Horrible start to what we thought was going to be a perfect choice!! Were worried what will be next!

  • A Step Above - 2006 Honda Odyssey

Owned a Chrysler T&C (loved it) and a Mazda MPV (loved it), With the extra money for the Odyssey, every penny was worth it. It is a world apart from the others. The interior is comfortable, roomy, and the handling is exceptional. I bought it for the standard electronic stability control, and am very pleased with the complete package. If you plan to haul the family around in a van, the standard electronic stability control should be the selling point here. Never leave home without it.

  • Should have kept old one - 2006 Honda Odyssey

Had a 2003 Odyssey and decided to upgrade to latest and greatest. It hasnt been too great yet...nagging problems. Have had back to dealer numerous times for little things that shouldnt happen! Had Key Fob replaced, radio reception poor, 3rd row seat bracket was bent upon delivery, and steering pulls to right (still not fixed to my satisfaction)

  • Everything we expected - 2006 Honda Odyssey

We have owned this van for a very short time but have recognized Hondas dedication to quality. We are first time Honda buyers and wonder why we waited so long. The third row seats are so easy to operate that our 8 year old can easily put them into the floor and then back into position. The removable seat in the middle of the second row makes moving from the front to the back really easy also. The rear entertainment system (using the headphones in the back) has better sound quality than my Bose home system. This van really does drive like a car. We did own a Ford Windstar. There is no comparison, the Honda is much better in initial quality. Time will tell about the rest.

No minivan for me. I am a gramma raising 2 young boys. I needed a minivan but my heart wanted a sportscar. Sigh. The minivan won. The Honda is fantastic. The comfort supreme. The features amazing. With the moonroof open I still can pretend that it is a sportscar! It is fun to drive, the kids love the DVD player and I love the music options. All the cup holders I could drem about... storage everywhere, quiet, smooth, leather, what is not to like???? The nav will come in handy on trips. LOVE IT!!!!

  • Disappointed - 2006 Honda Odyssey

I was disappointed with many of the features of the 2006 Honda Odyssey, esp the fuel, the window EPA 19-26 was the selling point I used, I have never gotten over 19 and that is open freeway driving. There is a lot of road noise while driving. The dash features are very complex and distracting while trying to drive and adjust temp settings etc. I found the A/C very slow to cool and the heat very difficult to regulate, it should not be this complex. Overall ride is very nice just too many bells and whistles and terrible gas consumption in this day and age when ecomony is a huge point of consideration. It has performed over all very well with very little problems as far as mechanics.

Awesome vehicle. Much better than my relatives domestic minivans. No quality issues after 11 months. Averages 22.5 mpg on interstate trips with 6 people and luggage at 75-80 mph.
