This Year's Model Updates:

Most significant for the Honda minivan this year is the option to get the Touring trim with the rear-seat entertainment system and not the navigation system. Previously, the two features were always packaged together. Other changes this year include additional child-seat tether anchors for the third row and standard satellite radio for the Touring model. Finally, stated power output for the Odyssey's V6 engine has dropped slightly due to Honda's adoption of a new SAE horsepower-rating procedure.

Pros:
  • Split flat-folding rear bench
  • Agile, carlike handling
  • Optional eight-passenger seating
  • Strong reliability record.
  • Extensive feature list
  • Smooth and powerful V6

So far so good. Comfortable, quiet ride, all the goodies work, no annoying noises or brake issues. Drives very well. Would recommend to a friend.

  • Honda saved familys life - 2006 Honda Odyssey

A dump truck ran a stop sign hit the Honda on the wifes front fender and then jack- knifed a 20 foot trailer into the rear of the van. The only part of the honda not damaged was the pass side sliding door. The wife and 3 kids walked out with slight bruises. The EMT people and police were behind my wife as the accident happened. They said they thought they were killed and couldnt believe they walked out with little or no injuries. The side curtain airbags in the 2nd & 3rd rows saved head injuries. Everyone who has seen the car said the fact they walked away is a miracle from the good Lord above. Our family thanks Honda. (by the way, a great car also:)

  • Honda Ody - 2006 Honda Odyssey

Before purchasing our 06 Ody we considered most other vans. The Sienna and the Caravan both looked like solid possibilities until we demoed the Honda. The Ody presented like a better vehicle with more advanced technology, better seating, smoother exterior lines, and a HONDA tag. After 8 months and 19,000 miles the Ody has proven itself as the correct choice for our family. We have taken two road trips from Maine to several southern states. If we had to car shop again tomorrow the Ody would be the only contender. Needless to say we are very proud and satisfied Honda owners.

  • Why would ANYONE give this a bad review! - 2006 Honda Odyssey
    By -

We researched before we bought our 1st new car, for about a month! We went through EVERY review and were petrified by the bad reviews that every car seemed to have. We finally bit the bullet and bought the 06 Honda Odyssey! WE LOVE IT! Its by far the nicest of the minivans out there, and its interior room is VERY spacious! We have no real complaints, just suggestions really. This van actually drives like a car, and is very easy to manuver *i used to drive a little ford contour, so this is much larger*

  • No longer the "mommy mobile!" - 2006 Honda Odyssey
    By -

The odyssey is a sporty minivan that helps alleviate the "Im a typical mom" syndrome! I can fit my three boys and all of their gear comfortably. The DVD system with wireless headphones is wonderful, especially when waiting at rainy baseball practices! Very reliable and comfortable. I like the maintenance reminder and the removable middle seat is a plus!

  • You cant find a better mini van. - 2006 Honda Odyssey
    By -

We bought ours new at the end of 2005. It now has 240,000 miles on it. This vehicle was always serviced at the dealership. the only things that have gone wrong on it were a minor issue with the AC, and a high pressure line on the power steering. The power steering was sometimes noisy, but it has never not worked. The only issue I have with the van is that if you do not rotate the tires at least every 5000 miles, they will become noisy. Other than that, you really cannot buy a better minivan. Despite the high miles, I have complete confidence int he van. We just drove it over 1000 miles for vacation, and it turned 240,000 miles on that trip. Last summer with over 220,000 miles we went over 13 hrs from home, into Canada. Now being down to only 1 kid at home, we will sell it. We just bought a Pilot to replace the van.

  • Honda vs Germany - 2006 Honda Odyssey

Before two kids, we always said no way to a minivan... until we saw and drove the current generation Odyssey. I agree with everyone else that the car is outstanding in many ways, blah blah blah. I have to stress that I am extremely picky about what I drive and no matter how much cash you want to blow on a minivan - Honda has everyone licked. The Odyssey frustrates me that for half of what my other car costs AND being a freakin minivan - it actually is all anybody needs. I rarely drive my car anymore.

  • 2006 Odyssey Touring is Awesome - 2006 Honda Odyssey
    By -

Well after lot of deliberation beween Toyota Sienna XLE Ltd vs Honda Odyssey Touring, both are excellent minivans. We finally bought the Odyssey, the ride was nimble and handling was very good. It does not feel like a minivan or big vehicle. The interior is very meticulously designed. The seats are more comfortable than the Sienna

  • No Complaints - 2006 Honda Odyssey
    By -

For a van, this is the most fun to drive vehicle! It has lots of power, good mileage compared with Explorers and Expeditions that compete with vans, and has been tight and rattle free! Something I cant say for my domestic cars I owned. Hopefully, this blue baby will stay out of the shop, like my other Hondas!

  • love it, love it - 2006 Honda Odyssey

Better price then toyota, more horses, bigger tires, nicer exterior design, more interior room then toyota. (After test drive the toyota). The odyssey price and reliability has made toyota looked over their shoulders these last few years. The bottom line is I can "BRAG" that I got more "BANG" for my minivan than TOYOTA.
