This Year's Model Updates:

The Odyssey gains a number of improvements this year. Included with the Odyssey 2.1 upgrade is more power, a new five-speed transmission, standard rear disc brakes and side airbags, optional leather seating and DVD entertainment, two new exterior colors and minor interior storage refinements.

Pros:
  • Excellent crash-test scores, huge interior, fold-flat third-row seat, powerful V6, optional navigation and entertainment system, a bargain at sticker price.
Cons:
  • Slow power sliding doors, dealer markup still a possibility.

The comfort in this van is unbelievable!!! The room and space is excellent. Its made for every size person in mind. The heated seats are very nice for the cold weather.

I have been the driver of Large Vans for years I have had 16 custom vans and I want to tell you this is a very will thought out van. I can hall just as may people and carry just as much equiment like 7 sets of golf clubs.I wish in the USA we could come up with as good a van.

My power sliders failed me three times, even after mechanisms were replaced by dealer. I do not recommend the EX better stay with the LX. Also...you will need a good set of snow tires if you have to drive in New England, as handling is terrible in snow.

  • Buy an Odyssey! - 2002 Honda Odyssey

After a great deal of research, we concluded that the Odyssey was simply the best value. To get the quality with any other minivan, one would need to spend an additional $10K. And you still wouldnt have the reliability of a Honda. The interior is plain, but I always found that more buttons mean more things to break. Further proof is how the Odysseys retain their value. At the time of our research, it would cost more to buy a used Odyssey than order a new one. I love my Odyssey and plan to drive it until the wheels fall off!!

  • Over rated..over valued, noisey ! - 2002 Honda Odyssey

2002 EX.Great Pickup and Room! Apart from that, there is nothing good about this minivan. 28000 is too much for the quality of this minivan. Horrible music system. Problems with automatic doors. Vibrations in Steering wheel. Very high road noise. Drivers seat unstable. Poor braking. This MINIVAN IS BEEN OVERATED. NO WHERE NEAR HONDA STANDARDS. Owned a civic for 4 yrs.. no problems. This one, right from the word go is having problems. Cannot believe that Honda and make such a poor quality vehicle. Had to find another dealer to fix the problems as the buying dealer would not fix it.

  • Very Convenient Minivan - 2002 Honda Odyssey

I have driven other minivans from ford and chrysler. While chrysler minivans are fun to drive, this is the most comforatble and convenient minivan. The major compliant I have is that it is too noisy and Im having lot of trouble with the sliding doors.

  • How can you not buy and odyssey - 2002 Honda Odyssey

This is my second new odyssey 2000 and 2002. I paid just sticker price no add on items. I drove my 2000 for 40,000 miles and paid sticker for the 2002 and was given $21,000 + for trade in. Ready to trade every year due to the high trade in prices. I compared buying a comparable 2000 Chrysler Town & Country to a equally equipped Odyssey and it would have cost me after two years over 6,000 difference. No comparison for total value, quality, reliability. Other option buy the new 2002/2003 Pilot to come out shortly.

One of the best decisions Ive ever made.

  • Over Rated - 2002 Honda Odyssey

I traded in my 2000 Town and Country for this Honda. I thought I was getting a better vehicle, but now I wish I had simply bought another Town and Country instead. The Odyssey is not as comfortable for both the driver and the passengers. Doesnt feel as solid as my old Town and Country and the road noise is bad. The third seats folds into the floor is nice but I think thats where most of the road noise is coming from though. All the reviews I read seem to suggest its a better van, but I now do not agree with most of those reviews.
