  • Great Car to Drive for City only - 2010 Honda Insight
    By -

This is a great car to drive, for city driving only. I am not so sure, I would not use this car to drive on the highway for great distances. This car would work in big cities around the USA, where traffic is really bad - the auto stop option, is far the best feature in this car. I am just dont understand why, the big 3 never put that in there cars to begin with. I think, if the big 3 had put the auto stop in all of there cars, they would not be in financial ruin right now, and there world not be global warming crisis. There is NO REASON WHY, cars need to burn gas at any stop light or traffic congestion points while polluting the air we breath.

  • 2k miles and love it - 2010 Honda Insight

Ive driven this car for 2k miles and love it. I have a family of 4 and took this car on our trip to New Orleans and it handled fine. I have a 4 and a 5 yr old and we all fit comfortably in the car with luggage for a weekend trip. Consistently get 41 mpg and I drive the hell out of it. Road noise was comparable to the 2001 Maxima I traded in. I can hear engine noise when I hit an incline on the interstate going 80 mph. The cars exterior is styled better than the Prius. Overall, the car is fun to drive. It reminds me of my Acura Integra I had in college. Also reminds me of the Honda CRX.

  • A fun and classy economy car - 2010 Honda Insight

Ive wanted a hybrid for many years, but I didnt think they would be worth the extra expense. I realized that dealers were going to be more flexible due to the economy so I seriously started looking. I looked at a Prius and Civic Hybrid, but both were a bit pricier than I wanted to pay. The Insight seemed like the best value and I really liked the exterior look better too. The fuel economy displays is probably the best distinctive feature of the car and it really helps you save gas. Im still learning, but I am averaging 49 mpg over 8k miles. I use the a/c all the time. The car is extremely quiet under normal conditions, almost too quiet.

  • Awesome - 2010 Honda Insight

What a great car! I have driven almost 100 miles and have barely used any gas! Not to mention the IMA (Integrated Motor Assistant) and the Eco score systems. The eco assist feature really helps drivers to know how "well" youre driving and the longer you drive well the more trophies you earn. The car is surprisingly roomy and comfortable, with more storage room than it seems from the outside. I enjoy the smooth transition between electric and gas motor, and that you dont use gas while stopped. I would recommend this car for anyone looking in the $20k range, or for a hybrid: I drove 15 different cars before buying this one, and absolutely feel I made the right decision.

  • Love at First Sight - 2010 Honda Insight

I bought this car on the day of my birthday - by accident. I accompanied my sister in law to buy a car at a Honda dealer and when I saw the Insight I immediately fell in love with it. Within minutes I was trading in my helluva noisy Toyota Matrix. My sis in law left and I stayed behind and within an hour I was driving home my Insight - the drive was smooth, the steering and seat was comfy - wow I love it. Right now Im doing 42 mpg after 3 weeks and hope to improve as I go on. The exterior looks great, love the interior, but the alloy wheels are my favorite. Save the best for last I find the engine quiet and smooth ride which I still havent got used to. OMG I could say this car is POETRY.

  • Love this car! - 2010 Honda Insight

I really didnt believe the MPG promises made by the dealership, but I wasnt concerned because I knew it would be better than my trade in. In econo mode, Im getting about 46 MPG on surface streets! That is mind boggling! I routinely get about 50 on my commute which is a mix of freeway and surface streets. I do turn the econo mode off during the hot AZ summers and the mileage is still really good, probably about 45 MPG on my commute. The performance is great. I can pass when I need to pass, accelerate to get on the freeway. I also store a surprising amount of cargo in the back, with the seats folded down.

  • First month in the books - 2010 Honda Insight
    By -

Bought mine this month, after running an old Ford Focus into the ground. First tank of gas returned 46 mpg in mixed driving, in ECO mode, with AC mostly on. And I have learned quite a bit in these last few weeks about driving in a way that maximizes fuel efficiency. I think 50+ regular is well within reach. I am 65", and have little trouble getting in a comfortable driving position. Thankfully, I dont tote anyone around the back seat (which is one of the reasons for choosing the car in the first place). Not much room back there. I know there are complaints about road noise, but in comparison with my previous car (a 2002 Ford Focus), this Insight is a vault at highway speeds.

  • Great car - 2010 Honda Insight

We previously had a 2003 VW Passat 1.8T, which was fun to drive but in the shop more than on the road. This car obviously isnt as sporty, but is great for its target audience. Its much more roomy than it appears, and performs its function with aplomb. Were getting about 42 mpg normally, although my wife got ~50 mpg on the highway somehow. As long as you acknowledge that this isnt a sports car, the performance is great. You do have to pretty much floor it to get on the interstate, but thats the only time I notice any lack of power. The cars mpg game is pretty addictive, and really helps make it fun.

  • Insight Is Better Than The Naysayers Say - 2010 Honda Insight
    By -

Researched 2010 Insight heavily. Test drove several times here in Colorado. Test drove Civic. Replacing my 97 Civic HX wasnt easy but the Insight exceeds my expectations. Styling is superb and high end. Comfort is excellent for average height like myself. MPG already coming in high 40s, low 50s. Drove in snow second day of ownership today and handled great. Cons by many people are not typical of a superbly designed hybrid, so dont expect big power. Plastic? Nothing wrong with the interior plastic, it is light and saves on weight. I do agree mats should come standard, but overall the Insight EX is a beautiful vehicle, my 3rd Honda. I will keep for many years!

  • Stylish w/ Great MPG! - 2010 Honda Insight
    By -

We have been driving our new hybrid for 3 weeks now after trading in our F150 clunker. The Insight handles great on our hilly country roads and we are getting 48 mpg! We will break 50 mpg on the freeways for sure. This car is stylish and has plenty of room (I am 6 tall.) We found the interior more comfortable and the dash easier to read than the Prius. The only problem is that it is my wifes car and I seldom get to drive it!
