  • My First and only - 1997 Honda Civic

I have driving my car for over seven years and have only had it in the shop for a major repair one time. I must say that this car has got me through high school, college and beyond. It is a wonderful first car for young drivers because it looks sharp and is relatively inexpensive. I will never buy another car except a Honda in the future, but I plan to keep my Civic forever.

  • Honda = Reliability - 1997 Honda Civic

This was my first major investment and I have no regrets with my purchase. I plan to drive this until it cant go anymore. I have had to do minimal maintenance. I added a Honda spoiler, tint and fog lights and just love the look!

  • Very Reliable! - 1997 Honda Civic

I had one less thing to worry about! I never had any problems with the car; just its average maintenance. It was very fun to modify - there are so many new things you can to do to personalize it. I am now a Civic enthusiast!

  • Great Used Car - 1997 Honda Civic

Bought this car from a high school buddy with 78k miles. Put in some fresh plugs, runs great. 5 spd tranny is essential. I fully expect to get another 100k miles out of this puppy with minor repairs. Drove 300 miles going 75-80mph with the AC blowing and still got 32 mpg (205 size tires!). Im sure without the AC at a slower speed you could easily get mid 30s.

  • Car of the times! - 1997 Honda Civic

Better real world gas mileage than the the other four seat hybrid competitors: 37 in the city and 44 on the Highway. I get closer to 40/45 because I overinflate the tires slightly and Im easy on the throttle. With Hondas reliability, its like driving for free! Great car in these $2-3 per gallon times.

Id seen this car in the neighborhood. My wife and daughter were looking for Jeeps. This car went on the market in the morning and I knew this was the perfect car. Reliable and low maintenance. Fun but practical. I think Ill drive it around town for the economy

  • love it! - 1997 Honda Civic

This was my first new car and I love it! I agree with the other review about road noise... but thats about the only flaw. My next purchase will probably be an Accord or Acura. So durable, I drive it like a pickup. And for such a "small" car, it has a ton of cargo space... moved to and from college in it. love it, love it, love it!!!

For 1st time buyer, this car is the one. The DX model is not fast, but it holds its own straight off the line if you have a manual transmission.

  • Best car Ive ever owned, period. - 1997 Honda Civic

Ive had mine since 3,300 miles and couldnt be happier. No reliability issues whatsoever. Built like a fine Swiss watch. Follow the maintenance schedule according to the owners manual (as I do) and the car reward you with amazingly trouble-free motoring. If deprived of my Civic, I would immediately seek another one just like it with no hesitation. Its like a premium motorcar in a smaller, less expensive package.
