Overview & Reviews
In typical Honda fashion, the Civic receives a number of minor changes this year in order to keep it fresh. For the coupe and sedan, there's new exterior styling, including restyling for the front and rear bumpers, hood, headlights and grille. Inside, the audio speakers have been upgraded, extra sound deadening material has been added and floor mats are now standard in the LX and EX. The LX trim has slightly bigger wheels this year (15 inches) and standard keyless entry. A new value package contains air conditioning, a CD player and a new center console. For the Si hatchback, there are new headlight and taillight designs, larger 16-inch wheels and flashier interior trim. Like the regular sedan, the Civic Hybrid has updated styling, standard floor mats and improved speakers. It also has a new interior console with an armrest, adjustable rear headrests and a manual driver-seat height adjuster. Finally, all 2004 Honda Civic sedans and coupes have a new seatbelt reminder system.
- Fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly engines, roomy interior, reputation for durability and quality, impressive crash test scores.
- Top-of-the-line models are pricey, antilock brakes not available on DX or LX.

I love my Honda! - 2004 Honda Civic
By Maria - December 14 - 4:10 amI rave about this car so often that two co-workers have purchased Honda Civics also. It is one of the best cars I have ever owned. And it is simply one of the best cars on the market. It looks beautiful. Runs wonderfully. Has a good stereo. Comfortable seats. Great visibility. The materials are top notch and the fit and finish is exceptional. Reliability has been perfect. I would buy another one without hesitation.

Value - 2004 Honda Civic
By seal6 - November 29 - 10:00 amGreat value for the money. Bought this car for my college bound daughter and I enjoy driving it more than her. Fun to drive, great handleing, great gas mileage. Test drove a Chevy Cavalier and was not impressed even with $5500 off price. Being 64" the honda has room to spare not so with the cavalier.

Honda Newcomer - 2004 Honda Civic
By Whack - November 22 - 10:00 amStill too new to Honda ownership to "speak from experience," however I am amazed at the reputation of the Civic. Even non-car people repeat over and over again upon hearing we bought a Civic, "I hear those things last FOREVER." That is the main reason we went with the Civic. The new stylish look and extras (i.e. moonroof, 15" wheels, etc.) were all a bonus.

over the top - 2004 Honda Civic
By Heikki - October 28 - 2:00 amThis one snuck up on me. Purchased for basic hi-mpg go-to-work transportation; found instead a personal coupe I really love. Made commuting the best part of the workday (really). A very well balanced, fun-to-drive car.

Perfection on wheels - 2004 Honda Civic
By ASHLEEHITZ - October 17 - 10:00 amMy Civic is actually my first car. I live by Consumer Reports, and I did so much research and in the end I decided to get either a Civic or a Corolla. After test driving both cars though, I knew that I had to get the Civic. Its so much fun to drive. Ive been behind the wheel of several cars, and the Civic is just a pleasure. It handles curves wonderfully...so lovely. Also, besides being fun, it is a very good, reliable, safe car. Last, as far as appearences go, I think the Civic is a rather nice looking car-stylish.

My new Honda - 2004 Honda Civic
By Rod DeLay - October 17 - 10:00 amI am averaging 45 mpg over all with my new Honda Hybrid. I am on the 3rd tank of gas and for the last 75 miles, (all in town) I have driven I am getting 71 mpg so far. Very good acceleration for passing. Very fun to drive after my 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 4-door 7/16 mpg.

Bit of a tripod - 2004 Honda Civic
By Azrael - September 24 - 4:07 amI bought this car in 2006, and have not had a single problem. I love taking it up past 5000 (and so does it). You cant give this car too much abuse. It just laps it up. Although, I agree with top gear, it is a "bit of a tripod". It handles like a dream, and accelerates like a bloody rocket! Im averaging about 30-35 on the highway, and thats at a constant 6500 rpm! Im pretty sure if I slowed down a bit, I could get better mileage. Nah...
